A young man is beaten during a rendezvous with an older woman at a hotel and seeks help in a wedding.
From "Folly" (Season 2, Episode 17): When a young man, Tommy Dowd (guest star Eddie Cahill), is beaten during a rendezvous with an older woman at a hotel, Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) soon find that this incident is just one of a string of such beatings -- some fatal. All of the victims are discovered to be male escorts whose employer (guest star Patricia Kalember) comes under scrutiny for sending her staff on dates with potential murderers--and may herself have reason to want some of the escorts dead.

in all seriousness, i was more concerned with how no one was screaming about the injured man. they all acted like this was a totally normal event in all their weddings. like "oh uncle jimmy, you and your bleeding injuries and nudity. you always have to outdo the bride at any wedding. teehee."
at least British weddings were worse in manners than this. the guy could have been tossed out and spit on by all the guests as tradition of a wedding-breaker.
@@XSilver_WaterX well dayumn remind me to never show up to a british wedding which is gunna be hard cause..... i have relatives in great Britain.
Don't you mean Cousin Johnny?
Freeze response. Pretty normal.
@@magnarcreed3801 it’s called going “tharn (A Watership Down).
I like how the first thing they do when he collapses is not put pressure on the wound but cover the butt
No butts on live TV lmao
It must have been a rental tux
You do what you know.
Those who worry about their own appearance will worry about the appearance of others. Those who worry about things looking "kosher" respond similarly.
The autopsy scenes on a certain show on a different network, they tend to strategically place bright lights over the groin and/or upper chest.
There were children there.
4:30 goes and accuses the victim of an assault right away great police work Olivia
i hate her for that
Liv always has a lot of trouble when a man is the victim.
@@wfcoaker1398 i thought i was the only one who noticed 🤔 it seemed like she was zero tolerance for prostitution when talking about men but any other episode she’s the main advocate for prostitutes always trying to protect them and justify what they be doing
@@tiimmystone7888 I strongly agree, the double standards and misandrist is so obvious, she gotten worse overtime.
@@andresrodriguez3708 glad i’m not the only one who notices
Assaulting a guy and leaving them to potentially die as a game for sexual pleasure, jeez louise if there's any point where fetishes go too far...
@Alexander Elderhorst and that's just one there can be many more that we all don't know about that put people in danger and others probably being made up as we speak. Scary thought.
when Slaanesh is disgusted, that's the point of no return.
Well Jax and Tara on SOA did right after Jax shot that cop who was stalking Tara. Season 1 I'm thinking
I take it you don't wanna know about sounding mixed with jumper cables and truck batteries then.....
So annoyed that they're not giving the victim any empathy and treating him like thr perp.
This is early 90s, not a surprise
I give the guy props for making it downstairs after being wacked in the head with an ashtray.
The hurt guy later became a cop on CSI NY.
I believe he was also on Friends.
wasn't he also on that miracle on ice movie about the 1980s USA Olympic ice hockey team vs russia ice hockey team
@@michael245 Yes, he was in Miracle. I think he’s also in the Gramarly ads. His name is Eddie Cahill. He’s had a lot of small roles in big things.
So impressed by the SVU police work he became a cop.
his name is Eddie Cahill
that dun-dun at the end made me laugh
perfectly timed
4:41 Yes it does and zero empathy, realistic portrait of the double standard.
How does it change what happened to him?
@@heathernks8 Because he's a man. Liv always has huge issues accepting that a man can be a victim.
@@wfcoaker1398
His statement was: "Look, none of this, (prostitution/money I make) changes what happened to me." I understand and agree with you both that Liv can be biased toward male victims, but *How does her bias Change the fact that he was beat up?*
@@heathernks8 It doesn't. That's my point. And yours too.
@@wfcoaker1398
Yes, I know. It seems like you're arguing(?) about something over which we're both in agreement, lol. This is part of the reason why I don't watch SVU: Olivia's misandry.
"What's up doc?" I can't stop laughing at that one line 😂😂
The last interaction was really weird the way everyone was like jump cutting into their lines. YES!
Ice Cube walking in with a mask on because of construction is me in 2022 wearing my mask because of covid lol
Ice-T.
Ice T
How could you mix up those two?
Our very own Fin- "Cop Killer"
The star of Are We There Yet- "F the Police"
I know right dude 😔
Well, you can't make Ice-T without Ice Cubes ...
This episode was excellent.
Is it sad that the title on its own sounds like a normal day in Florida?
Sounds like a picture perfect Sunday to me - from a Floridian
amo demais essa série a melhor ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
"What kind of fantasy is that?"
The knight in shining armor kind, except the knight never had shiny armor at all. If it is, you know why.
I think they should rename this to SVU.
I'm happy Benson and Stabler showed up to find out about that headpiece mix-up.
This is one of the best season!!
He looks and sounds 10 years older than a college student lol
Yeah he’s 30 lol not 20-21
Older people go to college too.
@@epicchocolate1866 Eddie Cahill was 23 when he did this episode.

I remember seeing this on television many years ago. It still cracks me up, strange to say
Nice
They need the money, that's it
(Reads title) Yes, I want to see.
KEWANEE ILLINOIS! Hog Capital of the World!
Not what I expected to hear in a random L&O clip!!
"What's up, doc?"
I wish they were making more obvious that these are SVU episodes like what they did before I don't know why they changed their format for some reason.
*A Pre-CSI: NY Eddie Cahill!*
Well... You're Simply Never going to get that rug clean again....
"What kin of fantasy was that?" A sick fantasy !
"Stabler: What kind of fantasy is that?" a sick and twisted one

What is Mac Taylor going to say or his he working undercover
2:39 Ice t predicted the pandemic.......
Book in the early 80's about a virus escaping a lab in Wuhan and going global.
this happened to me
I gonna hire somebody to do that at my wedding.
what was going on when they got back to the office??
Probably remodeling
Painting
Ice t face cover since way back then
What's with the L&O bumper at the end of this *SVU* clip? Why is this labeled "Law & Order"? Now that L&O has returned to tv, (Hallelujah!) imagine if NBC just called Thursday: "L&O" and ppl had to guess when to tune in for which series!🥴
I think it's bc Law and Order is more popular than SVU and they are gaining views by deception.
4:34 hate the bias, but it’s realistic!
Thank God she is a cop not a judge otherwise she would have ruined lot of innocent men lives because of her prejudice.
What is that blonde's problem?
How the hell was there an ashtray in a hotel room? This isn't 1985!!!!
It’s a smoking motel more than likely. Not hard to find
Well you never been in Vegas
Not L&O, it is an SVU episide
Same universe
Then call it that! Otherwise you are baiting ppl
@@kenziehill9376 You have a grievance, I don't.
Boo hoo.
Yeah, that's exactly what dumb people say
Its law and order svu, theres literally a slight difference
Was that Tad from Friends?
No.
I was thinking the same thing ( he did look alike )
Get rid of the blood and he can crash my wedding any time!
Why would a hotel have an ashtray or a phone?
This is an episode from season two. That season ran between fall of 2000 through spring of 2001. Back then there were still some “smoking” hotel rooms with telephones.
because 23 years ago you could smoke inside and land line phones were still normal.
BEcause you can book a smoking room at a hotel and all hotels have phones. What are you 12?
For someone whose character seems to be extremely sympathetic to/for victims of sexual assualt, Olivia seems to pay no mind for how she retraumatizes and even villifies male victims of sexual abuse. A lot of the cast is guilty of this but Olivia in particular is terrible about it and it seems so at odds with her ethos. I don't watch this show often enough to be able to tell but is that purposeful characterization? Like are the writers making a point about implicit bias or are they meant to still look like the good guys in these situations?
Please mark SVU episodes as SVU. I don’t want to see SVU episodes.
Svu sucks!
Stop trying to pass SVU as plain L&O. STOP! It may be popular but I hate SVU.
then scroll and move on with your day💀 nobody asked you
Christ Gracie just read the description and you’ll see benson and stabler clear as day
Cosigned!
@@tiimmystone7888
Evidently, this channel covertly asked. Why else wouldn't they label this "SVU"? With the mothership back on prime time, your comment is a bit like asking: "Why do they label the different series at all?" Some of us aren't into stories about personal violations that end with few trials/a coupla years in jail, bc that doesn't fulfill the "Order" part of the L&O formula. It's the same reason why "OC" is tanking in the ratings and had to hire a new writer; the formula has never been a season-long, one villain, one protagonist, story. Even "CI" was episodic.
@@heathernks8 my point was that if you dont want to watch it, then dont watch it 🤷🏽 we dont need to hear about why you dont want to watch something you aren’t being forced to watch
You should really include the SVU in the title so that we don't mistake this crappy show for the original Law & Order.
Ofc the chick gets butt hurt
