That twisted redhead woman reminds of my insane grandmother.
That principal was a piece of work. If I were that teacher, I would have filed an anonymous complaint with the superintendent.
Why anonymous
Given the time period and area the superintendent wouldn’t have done a thing.
That won't do anything
If the superintendent isn't corrupt.
That never works
The mom screaming "that's not yours" when they grabbed her son is unsettling for sure
I agree he's a child not a possession.
@@brianaelaine151After they turn 18. Although, doesn’t give parents the right to harm.
@@bimates2690 2:27 Carla Lowenstein is mental health. 2:35 - Carla Lowenstein: He's Gotta learn.
@@bimates2690they are never possessions and they don't become children after 18 that's when they become adults (legally)

Every child deserves a parent.
But not every parent deserves a child.
This is the sad world we live in. 😢
yeah would't be the first time that i have heard that saying
And it keeps getting worst
Agreed, my Dad had seen certain a couple of wacko parents in his years as a pediatrician. Among those was a case of Munchausen Syndrome coming from the mother.
If you thought Woke parents stating that children can be trans is absurd, wait to hear a case in which the parents considered the hormonal disorder of their girl as a penance they had to accept since God made her in such way. The latter case happens around early 2000s, and boy, my Dad was pushed to the limit of his patience after hearing that the parents dressed their girl as boy because of the hormonal disorder she suffered.
💯💯💯💯💯
“Every child deserves a parent” tell that to Mother Nature 🤣
I feel bad for the kids, nobody deserves to be treated this way
Me too. And, I will not tolerate any abusive parents out there.
I know right same and thankfully it’s just a show but stuff like this is happening all the time which is so sad.
I was abused as a child for 7 years It was getting worse I'm glad someone finally got me out of that situation
@@tamaraflanagan5181 amen 🙏🏻 to that.
Well there is a happy ending for the son considering he does get adopted. Is doing pretty well in that episode where his father does die his adopted father actually stands in defending him when the detectives believe he's a suspect. Even well Ezra despite meeting his father after so long he even knew he was a nobody a looser
As revealed in the sequel episode, the little kid, Ezra, got adopted and he ended up having a happy life with his new parents. Quite frankly, only Daddy Dearest didn't end up with a good ending... well unless you count dying from being run over with a car by your therapist a good ending then he did too!!!
I know that one !
even the mom should have gone to prison.
@@Drama_Voyage but season 15 she have job
@@Drama_Voyage I think they retconned it so that she didn't. But in many ways she was as much of a victim as the kids. In the sequel episode, she told Van Buren that she uprooted her whole life as soon as she heard that he got out so that she wouldn't risk being anywhere near him. He did a lot of damage to her.
@@WarGrowlmon18 Ya but in the actual case of Lisa Launders her mother was not convicted and her mother was as responsible if not more than the father.
I’m so-so on Carla’s fate in the sequel episode. In the scope of the episode, her just being the abusive husband’s ex works but in grand story it seems like she got off too easy. Yes, she was Jacobs victim but she’s the one who actually beat her children. She killed Deirdre after training her to be sexually abused by her dad and tried to burn Ezra, Carla was half of the horror of the original episode.
So getting an update that she just got therapy and now works with freaking kids is kinda disappointing.
I think the reason they did that was to try to bring it closer to the original real-life case. This episode did have a disclaimer at the end that clarified what happened in the show wasn’t exactly what happened in real life. It lists the father as being given a lesser sentence, the charges against the mother being dropped, and neither molesting either child. But still, the way they handled the sequel episode regarding the wife was shocking, especially considering she was the physical abuser in the original episode.
@@ThMnWthNNm They exaggerated the story then kinda backtracked in the sequel episode to make it closer to the og story, it ended up watering it down. The Lowensteins were terrifying, if you’re gonna make the perpetrators a lot more evil than roll with that and make the resolution as exaggerated. Carla and the original wife didn’t need the same fate, Carla could have been more angry or in jail for the molesting but remorseful or something. Tbh I’m actually a bit too young to know the original story by reference or to have watched the episode when it aired so I’ve watched both episodes a few weeks apart on streaming and without the reference, the resolution isn’t satisfying.
This woman is truly disturbed!
She’s clearly a battered wife, but she behaves like she gets off on it!
And then she just abuses those children without a shred of remorse or feelings.
She’s just so cold and indifferent and inhuman. 😞
How would she even be able to work with children with her record?
This actress is actually really good, she makes me want to smack the cr2p out of her. This is so sad, you know there are thousands of parents like this.
I kinda had a similar thought along the lines of did they actually get an addict or former addict to play this part? Because it's spot on
If an actor/actress is playing a villain, & we hate the villain, the actor/actress is doing their job. I feel like too many people forget this.
This episode was based loosely on the Lisa Steinberg case. It still haunts the detectives to this very day.
you are right but the mother never got prosecuted and Lisa Launders was killed by her adoptive parents.
@@Drama_Voyage🥺
I remember that event.
Thanks. I couldn't remember her name. I remember following the trial, though.
I remember it's so sad .
That principal screams misogynistic creep.
They did a sequel to this episode years later. Daddy Dearest gets out 15 years later and is run over by his own therapist and he dies. The therapist is acquitted by a jury. Apparently, Mommy Dearest never went to prison, and spent the years since then get psychiatric help that allowed her to recover from the abuse.
What’s the follow up episode called
@@sarahwebster1981 Fixed. It's in Season 15.
what about the kid
@@JP-ks7ey Yeah he was in that episode too. He ended up getting adopted by a good family. The cops interviewed him when Daddy Dearest got run over. I think that he was a high school football player by then too.
Abuse? She was an adult. She should have left. Should have gotten the deagth penalty for what she did, pathetic waste of oxygen.
6:04 the way he went from "lord give me patience" to "she had the WHAT???!"
It's too bad these two detectives couldn't appear well one of them dies the other one well apparently wasn't on good terms with Dick Wolf. It would have been nice if detective Logan can make an appearance in season 15
That women got off lightly, she abused those kids because she was redirecting abuse she got from him, and she manages to blame her husband for it all, which is bullshit.
Exactly, she deserves prison .
The fact that such parents are still around is scary
The father died in 2005 after being hit by a car
The girl might of lived if the EMS were in a bigger hurry for a child whose vitals were flatlining....
"He's a very loving father."
Yeah it really sounds like he loves that little girl to death.
But putting it literally seems to be the case.
Mamma ain't no peach either.
@@kristingallo2158True, but that's not all her fault: she was severely abused by Daddy Dearest. In the sequel episode like 15 years later, it was revealed that she got clean and quite literally came back to life once she got treatment and was away from him. She was terrified of him and took off from her new life when she found out that he got out of prison.
@@WarGrowlmon18 The actions she took were in fact her fault, maybe daddy dearest was raised in domestic violence and beat ? What's good for her is good for him right?
@@WarGrowlmon18 Daddy wasn't even home when she was burning that little boy.
Parents are supposed to protect, provide, nurture and care if they aren’t doing that or trying then they aren’t parents there’re monsters
This is why i could never be a cop. That lady would be bleeding on the floor and not in the hospital.
But they walked in on the mother trying to burn the little boy!
She thinks she is an excellent mother.
Junkies are a waste of space
How did they get in? No search warrant means everything they find is inadmissible. I'm not taking sides, but the law says get a search warrant.
@@itjustlookslikethis not if they see a crime happenings or believe with strongs reason that one was about to happen. But yeah, there was a lack of probably cause here.
@@itjustlookslikethisnah you can bust in if there's an immediate threat
You gotta feel bad for the kids In this episode, cause one Died maybe others have foster care because The father abused the mother and the mother abused the kids
They did a sequel to this episode years later. Daddy Dearest gets out 15 years later and is run over by his own therapist and he dies. The therapist is acquitted by a jury. Apparently, Mommy Dearest never went to prison, and spent the years since then getting psychiatric help that allowed her to recover from the abuse.
What season and what's the name of the episode!?
@@SellavinAtoms This one is 1x09 Indifference. The other one is 15x11 Fixed. Looks like aside from the daughter and Daddy Dearest everyone got a happy ending. The other kid too: he got adopted by a good family and he was pretty happy when the detectives visited him. Mommy Dearest was doing pretty good too and Van Buren didn't think that she'd ever go anywhere near that man again after interviewing her. Because people like him do pretty badly in prison, Daddy Dearest got a law degree in order to protect himself, but another former inmate said that everyone called him The Cockroach because he was so creepy. Cragen said that this was the case that kept him up at night.
Best line of the episode said by Cragen: I hope that he lingers for a long time in excruciating agony!!!
@@WarGrowlmon18Why do you call him daddy dearest? Kinda odd
@@tbates2906 It's sarcastic. You know, kinda like calling a terrible mother Mommy Dearest. It's a reference to an old movie or something like that.
And that's why not everyone should be allowed to have children.
I love that everyone is talking about the child, but nobody is talking about the black security guard.
He just looked at the detective and sergeant like "wtf are they doing here?"
Justice for Children.
All children deserve parents, but not all parents deserve children! Or something like that!! Point is, those two don't deserve their children! 😢💔
With those teeth and his eyes sinking back into his head how could you not tell.
Carla should be in a lock down psych ward, and Jacob should be in prison until he rots.
to have both parents as addicts is tough on the child
2:19 That poor child is NOT gonna learn that way!
2:23 - 2:26 Detective Mike Logan taking child away. WHAT ARE YOU DOING, THAT'S NOT YOURS. Max Greevey Grabbing her wrist and hand Carla Lowenstein is mental health! 2:35 He's Gotta learn.
Cragen 15 years later: "when I'm having a bad night, this is the one that comes back and haunts me."
Also Cragen 15 years later: "I hope he lingers for a long time in excruciating pain!!!"
Now while it's true when I'm having a bad night this is the one that comes back to haunt me. He's actually talking about the fact that he didn't do enough. His two detectives literally told him we need to get this jacob lowenstein charged. But every time Cragen was kind of stalling this making it like you got no warrant it's an invalid search. Even releasing Jacob lowenstein after he was screaming false imprisonment. After that of course as soon as Carla returns home she's with her son. Then of course he's beating her up Jacob lowenstein. If it wasn't for the detective showing up at the right moment I guarantee you he would have killed her along with his son.
Someone people don't deserve kids..
2:26 the way the cop grabbed the child away and held onto him...🥺
That's their job to protect the innocent. What's really disgusting now as we've got people in power who demonize cops even the media. Especially those morons psychopaths of defund the police
The mother was trying to teach her son by boiling water and trying to immerse his hands into it.
WHAT was the lesson, "Mom needs to go out a window at speed"??
Lesson is “if you make mommy mad youre gonna get your hands burned”
I didn't think I'd seen this episode from watching other clips from it, but the second I saw the opening with all the kids taking a nap I realised I had at some point in my life. Somehow it's stuck with me for all these years.
My adopted parents tried killing me with synthetic speed ADHD pills I had multiple heart attacks before I turned 10
Oh my thats horryble but now you are ok that what happened to you is awfull i wish you are alright nowadays
I’m sorry.

I can’t stand people that live in downplay what’s going on let the teacher tell the truth if you know something say something, nobody should be intimidated to keep quiet that child would still be alive hit people listen to the teacher
Sometimes when you see a stupid mother like this one about to do something very stupid to their child, you just wanna forget everything else about morals and punch them right in the face, or something violent. Sure violent isn't the answer, but neither is what she is doing to her kid.
It's more a question of ethics than morals.
Violence is the answer when defending vulnerable people, especially kids
@@kissit012 until the person you punched takes you to court cause that’s how America works… criminals have more rights than law abiding citizens.

She said some “Daddy, pookie’s scared”💀💀💀
This case was based off a real case that started the mandate law
I can't remember the real case this was based on. I think her name was Lisa? The mom did almost no time for it. She played the victim. The girl was adopted, too.
Lisa Steinberg…. I think it was good that the show made the Lowensteins a rich family rather than a poor one.

RIH and my condolences
This just breaks my heart ,its lousy base on a real case of child abuse.
This could all have been prevented if the writers just wrote something else.
Wow hopefully that kid will be placed in a better loving foster family
Poor little girl 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😢😢😢😥😥
They need a law and order streaming channel with ALL episodes. Did it premiere in 1989 or 90?
God bless the teacher 😢
yeah realistically you would tell them about the parents
what I really love about the show is yet may be just a shell, but very true situation is pretty close to these types of situations happen all the time babies get killed because of crazy nurses or, jealous siblings, or bad parents i love this show it does shed light to a lot of things we as a human race seem to look the other way when we shouldnt

I'd say Season One, 1990,'91.
The kid did not die in school. No one died in the clip at all. Damn clickbait.
I believe she died shortly after getting to the hospital. ( in the episode, anyway)
That poor little girl died from abusive parents
The second crime was cookie's with OJ!!
That videos what parents did to children is awful is called abusive parents
Who you gonna Called? Child Protective Service.
Problem is the parents get " rehabilitated" and get the kids back. Then they take their revenge out on the kids for telling on them.
Is that the Same captain that goes over to svu
This made no sense..
I might be missing something but it seems like the wife is the bad one and the husband is trying to protect his kids
She's misdirecting her anger int the kids. He beats her, she beats the kids. He might be trying to "protect" the kids but he's still A Problem
If my girlfriend called herself “pookie,” I might so the same thing… 😂
So nobody spares a thought to what the mother went through to be like this? I suppose that is why the later episides are better.
you can spare a thought for someone and still hold them accountable for their actions.

So wheres Benson and and Stabler
Mr. Big reminded me of JFK Jr in this episode.
Who died ?
