    I have the same trailer with the power tongue I bought from Rocky Mountain rv and the better ac unit. I got it back in June. I love how easy it is just to pack up and just go anywhere.

    Exterior shower next to the power source 🤔

    Really like the fact that the price is illustrated. I hate looking for the cost of an RV, like it's some state secret or something. Also the first vid where the host where there was comments on the draw back of the unit. As a result, I subscribed.

    Great! But those seams mean leaks. Been there, done that, never again. What a joy to drive for hours in the rain only to arrive and find the mattress soaked.

    Why do they always put outdoor shower right next to the power cord.

    However, I am confused...
    At the 14:44 mark you say, "This trailer is very well thought out... very well optioned."
    To be fair, you did mention a few personal negatives: the 2-burner stove, the lack of an oven, and no power tongue jack as standard equipment.
    But I would also add what I consider to be the most glaring issue by far... How can a "Family BunkHouse Camper" of this size & weight (over 3800 lbs dry) have ABSOLUTELY NO CLOSET SPACE... NO PANTRY SPACE... and NO CUPBOARDS for BATH TOWELS, SHOWER ITEMS & PERSONAL TOILETRIES ???
    That is, literally, impossible...
    No hanging closets on the sides of the main bed... no jacket closet in the main living area... no pantry closet for can foods, boxed foods, snacks, etc... and no cabinets in the bathroom !!!
    Are you kidding me ?
    Oh sure, every camper of this size has cabinets above & below the kitchen counter. That's nothing new... nothing special.
    But where are you supposed to put all your family's clothes? All their bulky sweaters & jackets? Your food supply? Everyone's bathroom towels & toiletries?
    This camper has a GVW of almost 5000 lbs !!!
    How do they expect an entire family to actually function in this trailer ?

      Joseph you just can't cheat the physics on a unit like this, it's not a tandem axle 32' trailer with a super slide out. To get all of the things you mentioned the trailer would have to get longer and heavier. There are literally hundreds of campers on the market with all the things you want, but they are going to require a larger tow vehicle. Some people only have a vehicle capable of towing these small single axle units and in that category the Pilot is, in my opinion, at the top of the class. This of course is only my opinion, if you disagree by all means buy whatever you like best.

      Looks like there's lots of storage under the front bed! Obviously not as convenient as closets inside the unit, but you can't have it all!

      Understood... But once again, underbed storage is a typical feature on units of this size.
      Really appreciate your reply...
      and please don't get me wrong, this Freedom Express appears to be a nice unit. But if one takes a look at many similar units from other manufacturers, you'll find so many of the features I've mentioned previously. Same size + or - ... at various price points + or - ...
      Examples :
      Wolf Pup, Geo Pro, Winnebago, Passport, Catalina, Lance, Apex Nano, Travel Lite Falcon, No Boundaries, Jay Flight, etc.
      Take a look sometime...
      Anyway, please take care & stay safe...

    Anyone know if leaking is a problem with those slide out walls? They definitely open up the living space, but to me it seems like a weak spot in terms of overall build quality!

    • @thehappycamper949
      @thehappycamper949  Před 4 lety

      Really good comment, the RV industry builds less than 5% of towable RVs without a slide out so they have perfected the seal systems pretty well, but like you said any time you cut a huge hole in the wall you increase both the risk for leaks and the maintenance schedule. The use of slide outs in floor plan design has dramatically improved the RV Industry and I personally would not own a camp trailer without at least one.

    Does it have a rear ladder to access the roof?

    • @thehappycamper949
      @thehappycamper949  Před 4 lety

      They do offer a ladder as on option, this particular one does not have it installed and I personally don't recommend it as I have seen people damage their roof or fall off and break bones.

    • @CristianoRonaldo-wt4oj

      @@thehappycamper949 it could save your life if a Bear is chasing you, and you don't have time to unlock your door..
      Also if you have solar panels you need to access your roof, and it's good for sight seeing.
      I definitely need a ladder

    • @TheRoadTaken
      @TheRoadTaken Před 4 lety

      @@CristianoRonaldo-wt4oj Solar panels is what I was originally thinking, too.
      The ladder is only part of the equation in the bear scenario though. You would still need to reach the ladder before the other person(s) you are running with. Otherwise, you just bought your buddy/spouse/friend/whomever a little bit of time to get to safety. ;)

    For starters, you have to ask yourself how many times have you had 3 pots on the stove top at the same time,....probably never.
    Secondly, if anyone can’t crank up and down that light little trailer, .....they should stay home and hope the birds will feed them. I would be so embarrassed if I complained about a hand crank jack.
