    We just bought our 2021 Apex Nano in May. Love it. Tows well with our Tahoe. No it's not electric. Anxious to hear more about your towing experience with the Tesla. Just for info. I discovered I wasn't putting enough tension on my anti-sway bar or on my weight distribution hitch. When I corrected those errors sway was eliminated. Great review. 27 nights and 3000 miles in 5 months and we didn't know there was storage beside the outside gas grill. I'll check that out tomorrow. Thanks.

      That's Great! We were excited about all the extra storage. With our other trailer it took some dialing in of the hitch setup to reduce sway so glad you figured that out. The heat option in the ac is most likely so you can add a heat strip to it. I added it in a lazy daze m27 and loved that it could warm the RV up without using the noisy propane furnace on a chilly night. Plus, it was always a pain to fill the propane. It's a nice option if you have a solar setup or if you're plugged in.

I wasn't having problems but I also was afraid of leaning to hard on it. Now, with the 1000 dollar worth of upgrades I can make it work hard without worry. Now I can pull hard up hills, keep speed more consistent... General use it never gets a water temp above 205... Giving it hell on decent inclines I can keep 65 and never see above 215-220 even on the hottest days. Trans still doesn't see above 200... If so, what’s your sleeping arrangement if you don’t mind me asking. We have 3 kids too and so one will have to sleep on the dinette. Just wondering how doable that is. Thanks!

      The 3 in the video are ours! One spot on the dinette. It wasn't too difficult to do...if the weather was nice and we were eating outside all the time we would leave the dinette as a bed all the time to make it a little easier. But, if we needed the table it wasn't a big deal!

    Idc for outdoor kitchen can i have them take it out and give me storage there instead? What's the point of an outdoor kitchen? The indoor one is right around the corner. Lol. Are people that lazy they can't walk a few more feet for the indoor one? Seems like wasted space.

    • @AllElectricFamily

      You could take everything out of there and use it for storage. We find it convenient because if the kids are asleep inside we don't have to go inside and wake them up to get a drink if we're sitting around the campfire. It's also nice to keep the heat and smells of cooking out of the camper if you're boondocking and can't run the A/C or just don't want to run the A/C. They're pretty handy in the end!

    Love the videos, We get Delivery of our new X in June and are going to look at this trailer today! How do you find the tongue weight when loaded up, so you tend to load the weight in rear\middle? in another video you said "fully loaded" is around 4800 pounds (is that with water-tank full or just the max load the trailer was rated for?) Are you still feeling confident with the X (other than range) towing the 194bhs? We are a family of 4 and plan to use the X to tow until our cybertruck arrives. Most sites we will be at do NOT have hookups so filling the tank closer to arrival and dumping tanks may be the solution. Are there any other trailers in hindsight you would check out in a bunk style? I saw the airstream 20+% efficiency increase crazy!

    • @AllElectricFamily
      @AllElectricFamily  Před 3 lety +1

      You have to go to a scale to find true tongue weight. It is a good idea to load closer to the axle of the trailer but not always applicable. 4800 is what the camper could handle with the axle they have. We are still very confident with the X and towing. It’s a pretty easy experience if the hitch is setup correctly. We can’t wait for an electric truck and will be doing some videos on what those trucks could tow. When you get into double axle trailers you have a lot more options of floor plans. For the trailer of that size we still feel the 194bhs is best floor plan. Airstream was to small for that but once the trucks come out then you can get some good floor plans for a family.

      @AllElectricFamily  Před 4 lety

      Thank you! It kills consumption, but other than that it is great at towing. But, we think the aerodynamics of the trailer have a lot to do with how much it eats your range. We are testing an Airstream in Sep. to see if that is true!

    • @AllElectricFamily
      @AllElectricFamily  Před 2 lety

      You do loose about half of your range when towing a camper with an EV. But we've been towing campers with EVs for two and half years now and it's been working for us. We had an incident we will be documenting in an upcoming video where we were unable to get a charge, but it could have been avoided if we had planned better.
      It's one of those things, it will work if you want it to. If you don't want to put in a little bit of planning, it won't. So, it won't be for everyone, but it is possible.

    1) The front window over the bed has a black insert how tight is that insert to the glass? I can get my fingers in between and can actually see insulation sticking out. I’m not to impressed with that and looking at adding something to get rid of the gap.
    2) When the slide is all the way out from the inside does the frame around the slide hit the rubber bumper or is there a gap? On ours there is like 2 inches of space. I know it is still weather proof with the rubber flaps but I would have thought it would go tight.

      @AllElectricFamily  Před 4 lety

      Thank you! ! 🙌 We're so glad you've found our channel! We didn't look very closely at that particular model, but our rule of thumb was to look at single axle trailers. We just wanted to be sure we stayed below that 5,000lbs when we were all loaded up and one axle was a good indicator that we would remain below 5k. We've been in a situation where our trailer was too big for our vehicle and it wasn't fun...so we were pretty cautious!
      With what we've learned so far from towing with the Model X, we'd say three things: (1) Look for something with a single axle. (2) Look for something that sits as low to the ground as possible (3) Find as aerodynamic of a trailer as you can!

      I just purchased the 194bhs with "off the grid" package. My daughter has used the top bunk and has complained both nights we have camped ( in our driveway, test) about being cold. We live in Nashville, TN and our day time Temps in July have been 98 degrees with an index of 107 degrees. Night Temps have been in the 70's. The way the air conditioning is set up, the vent blows straight back.

      Jeremy Stokes We partially close the vent so it’s blowing down and our daughter hasn’t complained. Some nights when it’s cooler outside we close that side completely.

    The Sunset trail 289QB is better and has 2 bedrooms, one is a 4 bunk beds and a queen bed with walkway on each side. Good storage in front, a super slide and only 5600lbs. We tow with our Toyota Sequoia no problems. Has all this and more. When I have family over, it sleeps 9 people total. Edit: not bragging, I initially thought you were an RV dealership channel (you did such a good job of the tour) and was commenting for other people to have other similar options.

      And yours is an awesome option for a small family, and.if you don't want something 30.feet. I wanted something smaller and more manageable, but hubby wanted bigger. I didn't know this type of rig existed. Thanks for sharing.

      That camper sounds like a great set up! Our tow capacity is 5,000lbs, so this was about as big as we could go! Our last camper was a 37' bunkhouse that sounds similar to yours. Thank you for the complement! We watch lots of tours when we're looking for our campers, so we want to help others out with through tours! Thank you for watching!!

    Thank you for sharing! Would you mind sharing which dealership you bought it from and approximately the % off MSRP you were able to negotiate? We are very interested in this exact model!

    • @AllElectricFamily
      @AllElectricFamily  Před 4 lety +1

      Absolutely! We’re happy we can help out a bit!! We purchased our rig at A.C. Nelson in Omaha, NE. To be honest, on this particular camper we didn’t negotiate much. COVID has just started and she basically said they weren’t getting any more campers in because all the boats from China had stopped. We knew there wasn’t much wiggle room, so we took what they said was their bottom dollar. We had also called a couple of other dealers and the 194s they had sold quickly...so we knew didn’t have a lot of bargaining power. With our 312BHTS from Grand Design we got 30% off MSRP because we were able to get two dealerships competing against each other. So it’s possible! Good luck!

    I'm curious about how loud your AC is? We have a KZ Sportsman 181BHS and the AC seems so loud to me.

    • @AllElectricFamily
      @AllElectricFamily  Před 3 lety

      Yes it is loud. I don't think it would be any loader then most direct vented AC's though.

    What's the height of the bunks (space)? The width is 30 inches, but they don't say much about height.

      We aren't with the camper right now, so I'm not 100% sure...but it's not very tall. Our 5 year old can't sit up straight. I can get the measurement for you in a couple of days when we're back with the camper.

      We love ours! It might not, it would need a good close to 5000lb towing capacity.

    It would've been helpful if you mentioned the price and purchase location. The more details the better!!
