Still gives me goosebumps and touches my soul 35+ yrs later
It's 2024 and this song has NOT aged. In fact, if you don't watch the videos and just listen to anything in The Cure's catalogue you cannot know when these songs were released. That is how good they are. In fact if you listen to the Cure now and listen to Robert Smith sing "A Forest" live, he sounds almost exactly same as he did 40+ years ago and possibly BETTER. Cheers from NYC!!
One of the best live performances ever
In 1992 I was at the best concert of my life - "The Cure" in Munich, Olympiastadion. I was 30 years old then and I still get blown away when I hear this music - and today, February 21, 2022, I'm celebrating my 60th birthday with "The Cure - A Forest" ... and again and again and again and again and again and again ....
habby birthday

Hi! Do you happen to remember the date of this concert?
69 now and still listening
Simon is just a monster. Robert and The Cure are a magnificent band. Without Simon Gallup, it wouldn't be the same.
There is no Cure without Simon Gallup IMO!!!!!
11:13 he plays "She's Lost Control" !! Damn Genious!
i'm not the only one
Hi thanos thanks it’s been driving me crazy of course it’s joy division
Love it, Robert Smith is quite a musician, it takes a lot to blend one song in with another in the way that he did.
@@nme87 True.
What a wonderful tribute !
This is the best song of 2023, that has found me, listened to it 30 times, found me yesterday
I'm sure the beginning was planned, but when Robert starts riffing vocals, I think it just descended into musical genius and improv. One of the best live cuts of anything I've ever seen or heard.
They quickly get in the Zone and never look back. This is much greater than the sum of its parts.
They all made this perfect
and again...and again...and again....and again....
35 times
you made a fool of me...
Again and again and again and again .
Again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again...and again
God hes beautiful
I've heard this one hundreds of times and every time I go nuts!
Agreed!!!
Same. I get goosebumps all the way through even though I know it off by heart. 👍🏻🏴
People thought I was odd playing this on the jukebox in the pub . Now they appreciate how truly amazing this is. Love The Cure then and now.
I’m roughly the same age as Robert, and have loved them for years. They still blow me away to this day!! Please come to Australia again!! Always something magical about them, and his voice is gorgeous! What a stunning performance of this amazing song. A Time Machine is required please, come by and pick me up and take me back! Simon is a beast on bass!!!
It is difficult to describe how important this band was in the development of modern rock.
Vraiment d'accord !!!!!!!!
In life as well...

This live version is better than any recorded version ive heard. Wow
It's like they reinvented it for the 1990s
I agree, Check out dire straights sultans of swing live version its also way better than the record czcams.com/video/8Pa9x9fZBtY/video.html
the live Pinkpop (2019) version is even better
@@danielbliss8014 they kinda did - the version on mixed up was a re-recording inspired by their live performances because the masters were lost.
Also - I fucking saw this version live and it still sticks with me to this day. It was amazing.
Agreed...I loved singing this song LIVe
This song DOES bring something ALIVE IN MY SOUL ALWAYS!!!!!!❤
Cure so underrated, definitely one of the best.
Absolute nonsense. You don’t get inducted in to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by being underrated.
This is on my list for one of the best live songs ever. The energy is just insane.
I Absolutely Agree
So true buddy! I agree! \o/
Hell yes. I get lost in this song with headphones on
Stu Mobley I agree 🖤

This is the best live show I’ve ever seen with The Cure.
This gem never gets old.
Just brilliant! That will be played at my funeral. Party!
Mine too
I'd probably watched this about 1001 times and every time I see it it feels like I'm watching it like I'd never seen it before..
Talentueux et merveilleux Robert Smith. C lui le boss
I think the Best Song of EVER and all the Times ... never heard such e brilliant awsome and wonderfull song like this ... can't stop listening everyday from years and years ..again and again and again
The Greatest.....with a BIG G.....
I have followed the cure for + 30 years. I'M a layer and In my office, I listen to pornography over and over. Decade after decade. Nothing changes.
Possibly some of the best live audio quality here from this era of the Mr Robert Smith Band The Cure. Certainly an excellent rendition of one of The Cure's greatest songs A Forest originally released as a single in 1980. The song has been played live over 1,000 times so it has been there done that. My favorite Cure song is 'Primary'. We Kiwis [New Zealanders] love our Cure. Thank you The Cure for touring here on several occasions it is greatly appreciated.
Definitely The Cure's best 'non pop song'. First heard it 43 years ago and it still sounds fabulous ❤️
That joy division tribute was so beautiful.. I really wish I could see them live again, it changed my life
Portia Janes I love that part. Right at 11:15
@@413dreaming I'm trying to do some discovering as I never really listened to Joy Division (not my times, discovering this by myself). What song exactly is that riff from? Cause it's absolutely mindblowing
