      I did realize this after I heard from one of the local podcasts yesterday. However, it seems Bru is out this week?

    The Ags are capable. Will our coaches play to win? O play calling in the bama game was not to win but to try not to lose.

      I definitely got that sense too. It’s a no holds barred situation for me now. Time to pull out all the stops!

    Im a Tennessee fan.this will be a defensive game with the two to front sevens in the country aggies 24 tennessee 22 sacks with tennessee playing one less game the first team to 30 wins

    • @atmcoldchills
      @atmcoldchills  Před 9 měsíci

      I'd be ecstatic if we scored 30! I'm real interested to see who can exploit whose weaknesses. Yall don't have many in my view, at least not that are in clear view, so in my mind that gives yall the advantage. Getting back the players missing against Florida should be key for yall as well.
      We can definitely win, but we just aren't that confident what is necessary for that success will be done.

    I AM an Aggie just like you, bleed maroon....and that bleeding seems to be a lot more than expected for a 6 year coach with his resume. That, said... I am a Tennessee fan and have sat with their heartbreak over the last few years finding a coach. The Vols are doing it...building that team. We, always have an excuse...young, rebuilding, injuries...and sure, true at times....but what about the minds... the coaches. I can't even try to analyze the stats anymore because we will find a way to give it to you. With Sumlin, Manziel was the team and we learned Sumlin couldn't coach, so, like you said, is Jimbo a "lightning in a bottle" success? We are still F@*&^*#* sitting here putting 108,000 Aggies in a stadium...waiting. I know Saturday I will be among my Tennessee friends wearing maroon unable to yell for Vols TD's but I will sing Rocky Top with them and the VOLS spell out. I hope the Aggies I know they can be show up!

    • @atmcoldchills
      @atmcoldchills  Před 9 měsíci +1

      That for me is the biggest mismatch. We have always shown up to games... one of the best and any time, winning, losing, whatever.
      I think it's time the result matches our effort!

    Home field in Knoxville worth 6 points

    • @atmcoldchills
      @atmcoldchills  Před 9 měsíci

      I think so too, it's the same at Kyle. Getting out on top early would be beneficial for us, but with that 6 point admission, Vegas thinks we are the better team on a neutral field, no?

    Most of tennessees sacks are from the d line not the linebackers

    I am very skeptical about catching a national championship in a bottle. Each program, each season really, is its own environment. Why can a coach have a certain level of success at one place but not quite at another? I would say the environment. The environment is made up of a thousand variables, not all of which are quantifiable, that each has its effect on the outcome. In the ACC, Florida State was at the top, Jimbo was already at a program with a recent history of championships. Bama, LSU and Georgia are at the top in the SEC currently. A&M is not and was a sub .500 team for several years in the BIG12 after the Slocum era. The only conference that ever saw dominance by A&M was the Southwest and it doesn't exist anymore. Fans that are mad at Jimbo should not forget that Texas A&M brought its average football program to Jimbo and at worst continued that trend. The trend preexists Jimbo but Jimbo fields competitive teams.

    • @atmcoldchills
      @atmcoldchills  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Thats a fair point. In many regards Jimbo has made our program better, recruiting is usually what people cite for this. That aside, he looks an awful lot like Dennis Franchione and I worry that it will take a similar effort before he comes out of his shell and actually starts turn the dogs loose.
      Frans last game against Texas in 2007 was a completely different game than he had coached the previous games; he pulled out all the stops, ran the offense completely different and we smoked Texas. They didn't see it coming, and it was beautiful. He never rebounded from that; it's sad it took him to the last game to get to the mentality where he would become that coach.
      Jimbo is following that pattern way to close for me!

    • @GridironMasters
      @GridironMasters Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@atmcoldchills Luckily, Jimbo has fared better than Fran and against much stiffer competition. I think coaches are like boats in a storm. You look at other boats thinking why isn't mine as good as theirs? Sometimes your boat is just bad but I think in cases where the team is over .500, especially in a tough league, comparing boats doesn't tell the whole story. I think if A&M blossoms into a routine 10+ win team, it will be like Jackie Sherrill coming in and struggling for 3 years before all the titles and bowls. Jackie would have been fired in today's game. The difference is that while Jimbo didn't have 3 5 win seasons like Jackie, his performance was more moderately successful and so I think we are on track for a slow burn to the top.

    • @Rexag
      @Rexag Před 9 měsíci

      I agree with all that, but I’ve watched other programs come and go right along side us.. TCU isn’t a storied football program and it’s been there…. I don’t care. It’s been too many years and you have likes of Sumlin recruiting with promises of NFL draft which players only came for two years and leave. Sorry, that wasn’t building anything. Manziel was that team and he should have stayed 4 years but that’s not going to be debated now. Bottom line, we make bad coaching calling plays that throw games. That’s what I see and I’ve been seeing it! Gig’em

    • @GridironMasters
      @GridironMasters Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@Rexag I also wonder what our record would be had Connor not gotten injured. I think Max is better than the average QB2 but Jimbo did pick Connor over him for a reason. Max looked great when he came off the bench. That said, I think the DBs on those deep TDs are what stand out to me. The defense would grind it out only to get beat deep repeatedly. I think we'll look back and see the points given up on deep plays as crucial in several games, notably Miami. That might be the weakness this year that will cost the most.

    • @Rexag
      @Rexag Před 9 měsíci

      @@GridironMasters Pure truth! Max is great as a QB2 and typically means you don’t start.. but there in help situations or to gain experience…. He seems to just get discombobulated at times when the pressure against the clock is dire. We are in those situations repeatedly. I don’t know where our record would be right now but my Aggie Football angelic just whispered to me…6-0 😯 I don’t know if I should be happy or sad. But I do know the Vols want this game and we gotta want it more. They are fired up!!! This will be an ear ringin loud game ! All Aggies send some energy here! It’s not Aggieland. Though, I did mention to one that Neyland went to Texas A&M as a freshman so once an Aggie always an Aggie. 👍

      Wtf are you talking about? If you, not being at practice and not being anywhere near these players, can identify who the starter should be then you must be an idiot. Why you wouldn't be making 5 million a year coaching your own football team is a mystery to all of us. The truth is, you ain't that guy, buddy. I know you like to think you are, but you ain't that guy. Heupel doesn't owe Milton a starting spot. You're talking about benching a 6th year senior, with 2+ years in the system, and starting a true freshman. You don't know what you don't know.
