Not to mention their fan base and home field are honestly second to none. What do you measure it by? Am I missing something or just the present all that matters ?
Hard to temper expectations when there is so much talent on board. I do think we have to have realistic expectation moving forward of what Jimbo is capable of.
I am a volunteer fan but I have to say that the way Jim Blow let the second quarter end would have pissed me off if I was a A&M fan. He had time outs. He could have gotten the ball back and had at least 1 1/2 minutes left that's a long time in football. Sorry guys but we spent a long time waiting and watching team's like A&M kick ass while we were loosing to teams we had always beat. As bad as he is at least he's better than Butch Jones or Jeremy Pruitt. Both of those hires has always baffled me. Better luck next time.
Jimbo did the same thing at Florida State. He has great talent and doesn’t know how to get it done. He has a great defensive line and he makes poor choices at pivotal spots in the game. He only won bc of jameis Winston at Florida State
I'm a Tennessee fan, but Jimbo is pissing me off. You have everything it takes to be an elite program recruiting, fanbase, stadium etc and he's holding you back. I guarantee you if you get a competent coach A&M will win the SEC at least once and compete for it on a regular basis

I'll give you most of this, but we held yall well below your avg yds per carry. It took yall 10 more carries to get the same avg yard per game. So there's a little this an that to go with that!
As a TN fan I hope we play AtM more I know you guys are in a down time and we've had that for the better part of a decade so we can relate but there's a lot of heart in the fans and I think that's what makes the game worth it. Vols would have won by MUCH more if just some of the pass interference would have been called. After rewatching the game, It was amazing the ones missed...!!!
As a lifelong Tennessee fan I understand your frustration. It took us a decade going through coaches that weren’t capable of elevating the program to its potential prior to Heupel. Texas A&M is a high level program and will compete for championships soon enough!
As a Volman I feel your pain brother. It sucks to lose close games. I will say that Jimbo must go. He's not worth what he's getting paid. That was a very difficult loss for the Aggies. Not many people know this, but Texas A&M has hired a new nutrition coordinator and they utilize grains much more than protein. The theory is that by eating more grains that the players will have more stamina. The problem is, what they are ingesting causes gas and it is not typical every day gas. This is chronic and it leads to a lot of problems, including fatigue. Several folks with inside knowledge of the program have told me that this is a real problem and the players have complained about it. It is an intestinal issue and that type of gas is not normal. When you have players passing gas literally every play that is a problem. I think you could tell in the 4th quarter that the Aggies were struggling. The training table and nutrition is vital to any teams success.
As Tennessee fan we know exactly what yall are going threw we had multiple terrible coachs that set us back for many years was very hard just need find correct man jimbo is definitely not the guy the man has championship talent
C'mon man! I'm a Vols fan that happened upon this video, and I understand how disappointment can lead to irrational thinking and speech; but this rant is way overkill at least for this game. Both teams played sloppy. Calls were missed on both sides, but overall pretty good officiating. Both teams had chances for more points, but left out on the field; both teams stumbled in the red zone more than once. Both teams harrassed the opposing quarterback. Both qbs handled it pretty well. However, as an unaffected, objective observer, your qb played with more heart and was tough and made some throws. Our quaterback couldn't make throws but we still managed as an offense, league-leading rushing even against the league-leading rush defending team; so those two facets sort evened each other out. The difference on the scoreboard in this game was about that 1 1/2 minute stretch whereby the same UT player who downed a punt on the 1 inch line of your goal line was the same player who returned the punt a few plays later. Your qb finally did make bad throws towards the end, but that was at the point of where he had to try and make plays even when not there. IDK about all that other political stuff, but that's just what I saw out on the field. I didn't see any Aggie players not giving it their all. I saw one UT player run out of bounds with a yard to go for a 1st. One that's supposed to be a leader of the side. Just sayin'.
Our guys played hard, but the fraudulent part is the lack of execution by the coach. You'd have to live it man, seriously. We hear each week how we didn't execute, so after 3 years of players not executing, is it time to say the coaches aren't executing? Of course it is! Max played his heart out, no issue there, he's as tough as they come - I think I said as much. The punt downed at the 1 was key! It's not to say yall aren't a good team, however, we did things that are just head scratching. Sure, your guy going out 1 yard short is too, but how many of those happened? We had like 5 of those! 4th and one fall over by the QB. RT getting owned by someone 100lbs lighter than him! Continued kicking problems from the punter, and place kicker. Another big bust by our safety that luckily your guy dropped. Dumb penalty going hands to the face by our DT. And defensive calls by the coach that are obviously not suited to stop the run! Like thats all yall do well, and we don't have 6 plus in the box every place except 3rd and 18? Seriously, this is a broken record for us. Maybe over kill to you, but we've had it for a long long time. I'd rather apply pressure as best I can, stop making excuses and set the expectation to get it done than have a firing conversation. Firing is the worst thing that can happen IMO. It's set us back, we have to restart, delay delay delay. It may be what has to happen, but to avoid that, our coaches have to get their S straight.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Yesterday, the better team won. And Tennessee was the better team. Question is WHY - with all of the 4 and 5 star raw talent, facilities, resources, fan support - is A&M falling WAY short of potential. Miami exposed weakness in the secondary. Bama showed how tough, gritty, balls out play is not enough when game-time coaching, and mental errors are routine. And Tennessee showed how the O-line STILL has many, many issues. Max literally almost got killed back there. At best, Jimbo without Jameis Winston is as good as Sumlin without Manziel. At worst, he is a fraud and will never produce. He and his agent pulled off the swindle of a lifetime. His friendship with LSU AD (ex A&M AD) perhaps even orchestrated the whole farce to line Jimbo's pockets for life. Aggie brass needs to accept that that money is SPENT either way. Question is, do you want to force your program to try and endure this travesty until 2030? Or take your lumps and move on. The shine is off the apple and soon (if not immediately) recruits will look past A&M because they are perpetual "also ran's" who never really compete for SEC West titles, let alone Natty. Then what? Can you imagine the results we'd get with Jimbo leading teams of 2nd and 3rd tier players coming out of HS? Trust me, it can get worse. WAY worse.

I feel that it is pretty obvious that Jimbo is calling games now. No pre snap motion, none of the up tempo offense we heard about pre season, passing game is mundane and repetitive. I felt this way when I watched the Miami game, how our offense seemed to repeat the problems of last year. I remember what bobby P said in his pre season interviews. He said his job was to keep the head coach happy, and I think that was his way of saying that Jimbo is gonna do things Jumbo’s way, and that bobby P was not going to change anything. Bobby is fulfilling the duties of his job in his mind, even if he has to watch jimbo waste the talent of the offense. Also another point, Bobby P’s Feed the Studs “Philosophy” doesn’t seem to be happening. Another reason to believe it’s jimbo, not bobby
It's hard not to think that after everything. The plays even take us down to the last 5 seconds every snap, and even then we don't get it off sometimes. I'm with you on everything until Bobby P's philosophy. I think it is, but even if it weren't, I don't know how to know its not or that Jimbo is modeling because the O line is too awful for us to even do that on the regular. It's probably as you say, but the O line just leaves us scratching our heads, but heck, if the line were better, we might not have a problem with Jimbo's methods either.
After getting backed up from the TN punt. The second down play call was just a complete give up. Jimbo is more scared to make a mistake than he is confident in making a positive play. Game is passing him by.

Look, Sumlon couldn't recruit a defensive player to save his life. We struggle dat LB and DL his entire tenure. 2012 and '13 were the best years we ever had, but the best O Line we ever had. Sherman had his own issues, similar to Jimbo in some regards with his refusal to adjust. Both keep shoving a square peg into a round hole. I think Sumlin and Jimbo are similar in their failure to hold kids accountable.

Jimbos expire date is Nov 24th 2024. 8-4 is quite on the table, so is 9-3. I wouldn't put much stock in that, but we won't play near the DLs the rest of the way we have in our 3 losses. that should provide some relief, but now its a test of whits and manhood. The problems we have can't be fixed in a week, IMO. I think this is an attitude or mentality issue. It stems from the off season. We aren't coaching at a championship level. Somebody should ask him if they don't execute in practice either? I bet they do in practice, but I'd also bet that the practice and game alignment are out of wack, meaning they are fine in practice because it's not the same difficulty level. There is no way our O line is that bad going up against our front 7 for 6 months, no way!

Johnson does not even put up points. His average is what 13 points per game. Remember when A&M beat Auburn A&M defense score a touchdown and special team score a touchdown and thats 14 points. Johnson only put in 13 points. Against Arkansas defense won the game. Max Johnson is not a high scoring QB. Weigman is a high scoring QB. Hes also much more mobile and has a much quicker release than Johnson. Johnson sits back in the pocket and holds the ball too long. I wouldnt depend on Johnson. A&M are going to have start running the ball much better. Remember Achane being gone is huge. But A&M are going to need to start rushing the ball for over 100+ yards a game to even score more points. Its either that or they will continue to slide down. Bench Max Johnson and play the freshman at least he can run
I think Max is a good QB2 but Jimbo did pick Connor for a reason. Last year we didn't have a starting QB and seems like we may not this year either. Jimbo hasn't lived up to expectations but I always say that's expectation's fault. Our expectations are not real. I think I would be okay if Jimbo moved on in 2-3 years if 8 wins continues to be the ceiling but we really have to put it up against A&M's history since 2000. If Jimbo never gets us over the 8 win hump, it would be right in line with A&M's history. We had a championship coach in RC Slocum and A&M got rid of him, yeah he was probably on the way out after 14+ seasons but that transition is something A&M never quite recovered from and aside from Manziel, is just starting to turn it around, if slowly.
The offense has been on full sputter since the start of the Auburn game. Max just cannot handle the pressure and the OLine is not helping in any way. This Jimbo BS is just that BS. He is hands down the best recruiter A&M has ever had. This is year 1 of Jimbo/CEO and it’s gone okay. There is still a decent season here if the Offense can begin to produce. Folks blame Jimbo. Well another problem is A&M offense does not have a balance attack. Sure you can pass a lot if you have Mahone as QB. But this Max Johnson backup QB. A&M needs a much better running game. This is hurting them tremendously. Need 100+ yards a game in rushing not 45 or 65. That's not going to cut it. How are you suppose to spread their defense if you don't have a running game. Until then if that does not improve a lot because Max Johnson is not going to give you 30 points then A&M will struggle.
Give Jimbo one more year to prove it with his recruits and a healthy Weigman. 10 wins in 2024 or he is done in College Station. Our offense is terrible. Sportscenter not top 10 could all be A&M mistakes. This is terrible. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Go Rangers lol.

💯 This was precisely my point in the preview of this game. We can't distribute because the problem is inside out. Who cares if our WR are awesome, we can't throw to them because we have no time. This is one of the reason I haven't focused on Max or Conner as a specific problem. The O line has had long lasting problems too, this is why I focus on the coaches more than the players. Finally, our coaches have had a long lasting issue developing as well, this is why I focus on Jimbo. Addazzio is a problem, but Jimbo hired him.

In my view, Weigman was in harms way, had been since Miami. The O line has been awful for so long. Max is not as good as Conner, no argument there, but until the O line blocks consistently, we are in for a long ride - we can't run or throw at this point.

Hope you're right! Word of caution, two years makes a successful not! The reality is very few have more than two years of success, it's rare!

The theory is that by eating more grains that the players will have more stamina. The problem is, what they are ingesting causes gas and it is not typical every day gas. This is chronic and it leads to a lot of problems, including fatigue. Several folks with inside knowledge of the program have told me that this is a real problem and the players have complained about it. It is an intestinal issue and that type of gas is not normal. When you have players passing gas literally every play that is a problem. I think you could tell in the 4th quarter that the Aggies were struggling. The training table and nutrition is vital to any teams success.

C'mon man! I'm a Vols fan that happened upon this video, and I understand how disappointment can lead to irrational thinking and speech; but this rant is way overkill at least for this game. Both teams played sloppy. Calls were missed on both sides, but overall pretty good officiating. Both teams had chances for more points, but left out on the field; both teams stumbled in the red zone more than once. Both teams harrassed the opposing quarterback. Both qbs handled it pretty well. However, as an unaffected, objective observer, your qb played with more heart and was tough and made some throws. Our quaterback couldn't make throws but we still managed as an offense, league-leading rushing even against the league-leading rush defending team; so those two facets sort evened each other out. The difference on the scoreboard in this game was about that 1 1/2 minute stretch whereby the same UT player who downed a punt on the 1 inch line of your goal line was the same player who returned the punt a few plays later. Your qb finally did make bad throws towards the end, but that was at the point of where he had to try and make plays even when not there. IDK about all that other political stuff, but that's just what I saw out on the field. I didn't see any Aggie players not giving it their all. I saw one UT player run out of bounds with a yard to go for a 1st. One that's supposed to be a leader of the side. Just sayin'.
Our guys played hard, but the fraudulent part is the lack of execution by the coach. You'd have to live it man, seriously. We hear each week how we didn't execute, so after 3 years of players not executing, is it time to say the coaches aren't executing? Of course it is!
Max played his heart out, no issue there, he's as tough as they come - I think I said as much. The punt downed at the 1 was key! It's not to say yall aren't a good team, however, we did things that are just head scratching. Sure, your guy going out 1 yard short is too, but how many of those happened?
We had like 5 of those! 4th and one fall over by the QB. RT getting owned by someone 100lbs lighter than him! Continued kicking problems from the punter, and place kicker. Another big bust by our safety that luckily your guy dropped. Dumb penalty going hands to the face by our DT. And defensive calls by the coach that are obviously not suited to stop the run!
Like thats all yall do well, and we don't have 6 plus in the box every place except 3rd and 18? Seriously, this is a broken record for us. Maybe over kill to you, but we've had it for a long long time. I'd rather apply pressure as best I can, stop making excuses and set the expectation to get it done than have a firing conversation.
Firing is the worst thing that can happen IMO. It's set us back, we have to restart, delay delay delay. It may be what has to happen, but to avoid that, our coaches have to get their S straight.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Yesterday, the better team won. And Tennessee was the better team. Question is WHY - with all of the 4 and 5 star raw talent, facilities, resources, fan support - is A&M falling WAY short of potential. Miami exposed weakness in the secondary. Bama showed how tough, gritty, balls out play is not enough when game-time coaching, and mental errors are routine. And Tennessee showed how the O-line STILL has many, many issues. Max literally almost got killed back there. At best, Jimbo without Jameis Winston is as good as Sumlin without Manziel. At worst, he is a fraud and will never produce. He and his agent pulled off the swindle of a lifetime. His friendship with LSU AD (ex A&M AD) perhaps even orchestrated the whole farce to line Jimbo's pockets for life. Aggie brass needs to accept that that money is SPENT either way. Question is, do you want to force your program to try and endure this travesty until 2030? Or take your lumps and move on. The shine is off the apple and soon (if not immediately) recruits will look past A&M because they are perpetual "also ran's" who never really compete for SEC West titles, let alone Natty. Then what? Can you imagine the results we'd get with Jimbo leading teams of 2nd and 3rd tier players coming out of HS? Trust me, it can get worse. WAY worse.

I feel that it is pretty obvious that Jimbo is calling games now. No pre snap motion, none of the up tempo offense we heard about pre season, passing game is mundane and repetitive. I felt this way when I watched the Miami game, how our offense seemed to repeat the problems of last year. I remember what bobby P said in his pre season interviews. He said his job was to keep the head coach happy, and I think that was his way of saying that Jimbo is gonna do things Jumbo’s way, and that bobby P was not going to change anything. Bobby is fulfilling the duties of his job in his mind, even if he has to watch jimbo waste the talent of the offense. It's hard not to think that after everything. The plays even take us down to the last 5 seconds every snap, and even then we don't get it off sometimes. I'm with you on everything until Bobby P's philosophy. I think it is, but even if it weren't, I don't know how to know its not or that Jimbo is modeling because the O line is too awful for us to even do that on the regular. It's probably as you say, but the O line just leaves us scratching our heads, but heck, if the line were better, we might not have a problem with Jimbo's methods either.

Look, Sumlon couldn't recruit a defensive player to save his life. We struggle dat LB and DL his entire tenure. 2012 and '13 were the best years we ever had, but the best O Line we ever had. Sherman had his own issues, similar to Jimbo in some regards with his refusal to adjust. Both keep shoving a square peg into a round hole. I think Sumlin and Jimbo are similar in their failure to hold kids accountable.

Looking at the schedule, I think A&M goes 7-5 this year. MAYBE 8-4. That means jimbo stays.
Jimbos expire date is Nov 24th 2024. 8-4 is quite on the table, so is 9-3. I wouldn't put much stock in that, but we won't play near the DLs the rest of the way we have in our 3 losses. that should provide some relief, but now its a test of whits and manhood. The problems we have can't be fixed in a week, IMO. I think this is an attitude or mentality issue. It stems from the off season. We aren't coaching at a championship level. Somebody should ask him if they don't execute in practice either? I bet they do in practice, but I'd also bet that the practice and game alignment are out of wack, meaning they are fine in practice because it's not the same difficulty level. There is no way our O line is that bad going up against our front 7 for 6 months, no way!
The biggest problem from what i see is QB. Max Johnson is a way backup QB. Hes no where near as good as Weigman. I knew when Weigman went down it was going to be a long year. Johnson does not even put up points. His average is what 13 points per game. Remember when A&M beat Auburn A&M defense score a touchdown and special team score a touchdown and thats 14 points. Johnson only put in 13 points. Against Arkansas defense won the game. Max Johnson is not a high scoring QB. Weigman is a high scoring QB. Hes also much more mobile and has a much quicker release than Johnson. Johnson sits back in the pocket and holds the ball too long. I wouldnt depend on Johnson. A&M are going to have start running the ball much better. Remember Achane being gone is huge. But A&M are going to need to start rushing the ball for over 100+ yards a game to even score more points. Its either that or they will continue to slide down. Bench Max Johnson and play the freshman at least he can run
I think Max is a good QB2 but Jimbo did pick Connor for a reason. Last year we didn't have a starting QB and seems like we may not this year either. Jimbo hasn't lived up to expectations but I always say that's expectation's fault. Our expectations are not real. I think I would be okay if Jimbo moved on in 2-3 years if 8 wins continues to be the ceiling but we really have to put it up against A&M's history since 2000. If Jimbo never gets us over the 8 win hump, it would be right in line with A&M's history. We had a championship coach in RC Slocum and A&M got rid of him, yeah he was probably on the way out after 14+ seasons but that transition is something A&M never quite recovered from and aside from Manziel, is just starting to turn it around, if slowly.

Well another problem is A&M offense does not have a balance attack. Sure you can pass a lot if you have Mahone as QB. But this Max Johnson backup QB. A&M needs a much better running game. This is hurting them tremendously. Need 100+ yards a game in rushing not 45 or 65. That's not going to cut it. How are you suppose to spread their defense if you don't have a running game. Until then if that does not improve a lot because Max Johnson is not going to give you 30 points then A&M will struggle.

Tennessee fan here. Nothing bad to say about A&M at all. Bad beat, bad coaching, bad game management. We have no QB at all in Joe Milton and still won. 💯 This was precisely my point in the preview of this game. We can't distribute because the problem is inside out. Who cares if our WR are awesome, we can't throw to them because we have no time. This is one of the reason I haven't focused on Max or Conner as a specific problem. The O line has had long lasting problems too, this is why I focus on the coaches more than the players. Finally, our coaches have had a long lasting issue developing as well, this is why I focus on Jimbo. Addazzio is a problem, but Jimbo hired him.

In my view, Weigman was in harms way, had been since Miami. The O line has been awful for so long. Max is not as good as Conner, no argument there, but until the O line blocks consistently, we are in for a long ride - we can't run or throw at this point.
