The flush is a good thing, but yeah the person needs to know what to expect.

I have had really acute occurrence of inflammation(significantly sprained ankle, and when I flush from time to time, I take 1 500 mg capsule of Niacin to flush), and it completely reduced the pain and soreness in a matter of a couple of hours. After the flush, the sprain was no longer. That is just one example of a flush helping heal something within myself. I consider Niacin flushing a healing process. I can feel the heat going to areas and bringing nutrient and blood to assist in the healing process in every instance I flush. I do not flush frequently, but when I do, it is definitely a healing experience for me. Thank you for the informative post.

I used to do the Niacin flush once a week or so.
Hadn’t done it for a couple of years (life got in the way) did one a month or so ago - I’d forgotten how bad it feels.
Nothing to be scared of, just make sure you know what you are doing, I'm going to start up again.
It's fun - if you like to suffer 😊

Hello everyone and thanks for your comments. Remember this is a video on how to avoid flushing, not a commentary on the flushing itself. I have seen patients go to emergency rooms/urgent cares thinking they are sick when they are not and that’s why I posted this video- have a healthy night!

Holy crap, I thought maybe the flush was an anomaly. I decided to buy some and I took 500mg earlier and I am turning red now and have this burning feeling all over. It feels really good tho. I like it.

Great video. I will try it today for the first time. I've noticed that my limbs have bad circulation over the last few months. I will come back and edit this to note any changes and benefits I see :)
update: I tried it for the first time with 500mg. After about 10 min or so I started feeling some blood rushing to my face. Over the next 30 min it worked its way down from head down. Perhaps there were a number of blockages as it wasn't as strong in my lower extremities. I will try it again later on this week and see if I get more results in my feet. It wasnt itchy or uncomfortable at all, it felt more like an internal heat.

Hello everyone and thanks for all the comments. Please keep in mind that this video is to help the flush not be so severe. Many patients end up in urgent cares and emergency rooms thinking that the “flush” is an allergic reaction. Have a healthy day!

Amateurs ;) best information is start low! Try 25mg not the 500mg's! If the 25's don't give a flush take two and see what happens... Eventually you'll get a flush and most likely enjoy it not regret taking too much.. it leaves you feeling very relaxed after the experience.

This is not exaggerating...I took 1/32 of a tsp (considered a Smidgen) of pure pharmaceutical grade niacin and thought I was going to have to call an ambulance. I was violently ill with vomiting, diarrhea, severe flushing and could barely walk. This lasted 3 hours. I was so sick...I could not pick up my cellphone to call an ambulance.
Now I take 1/64 of a teaspoon (considered a Drop) twice a day and can tolerate it. ALWAYS FOLLOWING A MEAL.

Maybe you need electrolytes? Sometimes people pee a lot when they need them but it could be something else. Dark urine can be dehydration and electrolytes help you hold onto fluid. Dr Berg sells a good electrolyte that is natural and free of bad material. I take the strawberry lemon kind because it's delicious

I WANT TO SHARE WHAT WORKS FOR ME TO AVOID FLUSHING:
I TAKE ONE OR TWO LOW-DOSE ASPIRIN TABLETS AT LEAST ONE HOUR BEFORE I TAKE THE NIACIN.
THEN I TAKE ANOTHER LOW-DOSE ASPIRIN TABLET WHEN I TAKE THE NIACIN. USUALLY THAT PREVENTS FLUSH.
HOWEVER IF I START GETTING FLUSHED ANYWAY ON RARE OCCASIONS, THEN I TAKE ANOTHER LOW-DOSE ASPIRIN AT THE VERY FIRST SIGN OF FLUSH--WHICH USUALLY BEGINS AS A FEELING OF HEAT ON MY FOREHEAD AND MAYBE CHEEKS.
THESE PROCEDURES SEEM TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM FOR ME.

In his book "The Madness of Adam and Eve", Horrobin says that schizophrenics do not flush when injected subcutaneously with Niacin.
As I believe that schizophrenia is a whole range of conditions, perhaps he is describing only one of those conditions.
But as far as I know, this would be the only clinical diagnosis of any non physical mental presentation.

Hi Joseph. It may be best to discuss this with your prescribing doctor. My general rule with patients is to start low and go slow. As far as flushing goes, it resolves over time. There could be many reasons for your heart palpitations. So that needs to be explored further. Thank you for your question.
