It might be the way sound comes across in recorded form buy the V10 sounds better from here. The way the Evo walks the Vette on the high-end is impressive since there is supposed to be a power deficit it's direction. Very interesting results. Vette launches so hard for RWD on this surface. Impressive to keep up with AWD. Still a great value at MSRP... but when you get into used Huracan territory with the markups... watching the V10 walk and the Lamborghini brand name... it's hard to pick ZO6 when there is price equivalency.
Evo less power but look at the weight difference. This C8 is a convertible and the Z06 is more built for the road course as you can see on top end Huracan more aerodynamic

I don't know, better call Emelia. She got 10.5 with a non convertible. I doubt that convertible is adding 3 or 4 tenths of a second. The trap speeds on that z06 really aren't any better than a regular c8. Maybe it's not fully broken in yet

Cf wheels and carbon ceramic brakes on a dyno add approximately 28 wheel hp!! It would be a different race... Amelia ran a 10.51 @ 130mph, car and driver trapped over 131mph.... I also think this evo has high flow cats and a tune. If it can drown out a z06 in sound.... it's lightly moded.
You know more about the effect of wheels on performance than I do, but Pirellis are trash, let alone regular Pzero's. I think give both cars Toyo R777s or at least MPSC2s, and find a Z06 Coupe or E-Ray Coupe. V10 sounds better. I am stoked that America has such a badass supercar in the Z06 now. I think it's the perfect competition for the Huracan, for a lot cheaper.
It's the gearing. I can't believe GM didn't regear the 8 speed dct from the z51 despite the engine revving over 2000rpm higher. The Evo gets to the top of 5th and shifts into 6th still accelerating. Despite the z06's godly engine and amazing launch none of that helps when it can't even reach the top of its 4th gear in a quarter mile. Z06 acceleration is ruined by it's upper gear ratios. It's so incredibly disappointing to see the z06 falling behind with every upshift as it's super wide ratios drop its engine out of its power band. Why give one of the greatest high revving engines economy car gearing?

I recall being told that the Z0 was made for corners and regular ciruit tracks not straight line 1/4 . Its just a hair quicker to 60 mph than a regular C8. Ironically the base 1LT C8 is quicker than a LT2 or LT3 with Z51. People say How?? The z51 adds weight as does the package upgrades. People further forget the Z51 is a track pack of sorts, not a drag pack.
Huracan still sounds better and the Huracan doesn't need it's speakers to sound great in the cabin unlike the Z06. Id rather have a rwd Huracan over the Z06

yea adding all the hardware does that as most people forget that not only hardware for moving the top but also the hardware under the car to since it loses stiffness of the roof. easy that could be few hundred pounds.
Both cars have run faster but on the day atmospheric conditions and track prep make a lot of difference. I was hoping the Corvette would win and was a little surprised it didn't.
Huracan platform showing its age here, 2 more cylinders yet less power, costs 2x as much as well but barely edges out the Z06. Lamborghini really needs to step up their game on the next generation.
I think it maybe very close. The Huracan seems to have far more top end and was trapping ~5mph faster which isn't trivial to catch-up. Also typical lambo with AWD and bogging immediately after the start, the Corvette did great getting off the line harder.
My Father just bought a Brand New Red Corvette Convertible and paid an extra $2,500 Dollars to get McLaren/Lamborghini Doors that go up and he is so happy now 🙂

This Grey Z06 it's beautiful! Amazing! Considering the inflation, the sport line in which compete, it's a bargain price if you have the money to spend on this league. Just beautiful sound and amazing look!

Of course the coupe is 120-140 lbs lighter ( I've weighed both).. The coupes are around 128-130 mph in the 1/4.

yes, the Lamborghini does 10.3
Both cars have run faster but on the day atmospheric conditions and track prep make a lot of difference. I was hoping the Corvette would win and was a little surprised it didn't.

I’m a Ford guy but u can’t deny the zo6 and the Lambo is another level all around
Huracan platform showing its age here, 2 more cylinders yet less power, costs 2x as much as well but barely edges out the Z06. Lamborghini really needs to step up their game on the next generation.

I wouldn't have thought the convertible vette to be this much slower than the coupe. The coupes are trapping in the low 130's. Something seems off🤔

Set up the launch control for 4750 RPM and 6% tire slip on the Z06/Z07 with carbon fiber wheels and 1/4 tank of gas
High revving V10 sound cannot be defeated. Sure thing though, Z06 sounds great.

I think it maybe very close. The Huracan seems to have far more top end and was trapping ~5mph faster which isn't trivial to catch-up. Also typical lambo with AWD and bogging immediately after the start, the Corvette did great getting off the line harder.

My Father just bought a Brand New Red Corvette Convertible and paid an extra $2,500 Dollars to get McLaren/Lamborghini Doors that go up and he is so happy now 🙂

These really are track cars and not sure why so much emphasis on drag strip times.
Drag racing all you doing you can get into the 9’s fairly cheap. Although that same car get smoked by either of these cars on a track.

Since you're coming up to Bradenton nowadays, you should do a collaboration with Cleetus. Maybe call out his AWD twin turbo F150 with your Plaid or something. It's always cool to see your favorite CZcamsrs collab. Especially when it's 2 car guys.
