To be honest I think Carlton are perfectly entitled to seek out the best person to coach their team. If a football dept and a board wasn't doing that then there is something wrong at the club. Teague knows that, he's a professional coach and as such he knows a coach lives and dies by his teams results. It might seem tough to leave him hanging, but that's the nature of the game. It's about results, not loyalty. Loyalty is long gone in football.

Journalists who 2 months ago were participating in a blood sport going after Teague have now become his biggest apologists. The reporting is really quite pathetic. Its just about getting a headline anyway they can get it. No one has suggested the right way to undertake such a review or in fact when in the footy calendar you have clear air. Its always messy; that's just the way it is. It was messy at Collingwood, messy at Hawthorn, might be messy at Gold Coast. These are all big boys who get paid a lot knowing the stresses, strains and risks and go into it with eyes wide open. And if sacked, will get a big fat cheque.

Sasha it's obvious the club's handled it in a way where it's out of the ordinary. My worry is he has been used as a scape goat and that the results of the findings have been swept under the carpet. Members and the public have a right to the info and surely do not want to relive what's gone on at the club for the last 15 years!!
David Parkin was sooo Right . At a talk he gave Ex footballers 2 years ago, he gave a speech where he stated that Carlton are still living in the 60s and that they will
never have success for a long time . Why should Teague go , Sack the Board ???

I am deeply saddened for David Teague, to enter a club with the best intentions only to be treated like an outsider, because things don't go the way they want. How cutthroat can a club be, David has like all coaches before done his best with the players at his disposal. I hope he can step back and make a good decision for himself. Let's be brutally honest about this, Carlton does not deserve him after treating him like this. I'm sorry if people see it differently than I do but how on Earth can they look him in the eye and say we are supporting you when they want someone else there. This is terrible for all Coaches! That lose sleep due to stress related to the ongoing problems within their list of players The management issues should be kept private and discretet, not blurted out in public like he is a piece of furniture, my dear brother who has passed was a supporter of the Blues! And im sure he would be so pissed and hurt! by how the board and all others who have simply feed him to the sharks. Tbh im a Richmond supporter and our coach has some issues and it's around solidarity with the whole playing group, he has put up this facade insisting on the group treating each other like family yet he tosses his own to the curb! For a young woman at the club. To me, that is the biggest kick in the teeth put yourself in one Ex Mrs Hardwicks shoes. Im sure she is deeply hurt and deflated by Damian's decision to give up on his till death do us part, commitment this is a partnership for life not a season or ten so, I no longer support him! Don't get me wrong I love my club but I feel that Damian is a hypocrite. Ps I hope David Teague can get something positive out of this ordeal.

The hyperbole is a joke.
Carlton have tanked for the last twenty years and had ample opportunities to pick up good talent. They deliberately cheated the salary cap in 2000 and with all that they are still the worst team in the competition. Carlton should go the way of South Melbourne of Fitzroy, relocate or get out of the AFL.
