Is it just me or quake 3 had something that this game simply lack?
Nope, you just need to take off your nostalgia goggles and you'll be alright, I enjoyed both games, yes QC has had some major issues, of course, but it is by far the most unique of all the quake MP. The only variety Q3 had in its gameplay was just smaller or bigger hitboxes in the some of the characters. Quake Champions on the other hand combines gameplay aspects from all previous games plus mods made by the community such as the famous CPMA, Painkiller's HP pick up and UT's double dash, a love letter to real fans of Arena FPS.
