  • You'll need a display with a minimum refresh rate of 120hz. Next, set playback to 2x speed and select Max Quality (1440p60 hd) for best results. This is a test run, still working on the sound. Enjoy!

regarding the sounds: it seems like your video editor pitched the sounds down when slowing the footage down to 60hz, while youtube retains pitch when playing back at different speeds, next time you'll want to make sure that when played at 1x speed, the pitch sounds normal 👍 cool experiment, eager to see this perfected!

"next time you'll want to make sure that when played at 1x speed, the pitch sounds normal" Thanks for this, do you have any ideas? I use premiere pro and need to figure this out

@@evmadic i have no experience in premiere, but you might have luck putting the audio in audacity and using the "change tempo" setting? you'd have to resync the audio in premiere but unless there's a similar option in that, this might be your best bet

I bought my first 144 hz monitor, and i made exactly the same slowed video in 120 fps, but haven't uploaded it yet, due to slow internet (not optic fiber), i mean it took MONTH to uploaded just four 2 hours videos, so...
I'll test yours later in the morning, right now I'm on the phone (which is only 90hz). But here's a like and comment.

Are you sure it's 2x speed? Stuff still feels floaty, and the sounds are off

    • @evmadic
      @evmadic  Před 6 měsíci

You have to play the clip at 2x playback speed. Click the Settings cog in the bottom-right of the player.

@@evmadic I did, and I'm saying it still feels slower than regular game footage. It might be a youtube issue, or it could be an issue on my side, I don't know which it is, but I guess native 120 fps support from youtube would be a good addition.

yeap, workin on it. What's strange is that the music comes through crystal clear even though it is within the same audio track as the in-game sounds

...Ok, i watched it on my 144 Hz. Yes, it looks smooth, but the bitrate is low, plus the game feels like you're stuck in the mud (compared to others, such as Quake Live or Diabotical, etc).
About the quality - if you're interested in improving it, i suggest to use CQP method (non CBR or VBR, better) which is available in OBS. Value of 18-21 would be enough. The Upside - great quality (especially compared to CBR), the Downside - files could be very big. It's basically auto-bitrate for a specific scene. If your scene (moment in a video) is just menu - it could be 4000-6000 kbps, but if it's fast action on Ultra settings with lots of details - it could be 100k-200k (!) kbps.
And for the render (if you edit your videos) i suggest using CRF method (similar to CQP), which is available in free plugin called Voukoder (it works with Vegas, Premiere, and some others). Same settings - 18-23, around that. But yeah, files could be huge. Or small, too (if you're recording old pixelated games, for example).
Also, which software do you use? I mean there should be an option to fix that audio pitch. Otherwise, the Slash will be always constipated.)
P.S. I also rendered a 120 FPS video, a short clip (so i could upload it in at least the whole night, which i did). It's on this channel, in case anyone is interested. Who knows, maybe we could make it a trend.) Imagine - frag-movies in 120 FPS, which rendered in slowed 60.)) Maybe that would allow people to use good music, cuz YT robot wouldn't be able to detect that stretched version.)

Thanks for this info, I'm using OBS and VBR at very fast. CRF is 21, I will try it at 18. If I go any lower than very fast my CPU won't keep up. Bitrate I just keep at 8000 and buffer 10000.
I use Premiere to render so I would need to check out those plugins. I would like to see your clip to compare with!

@@evmadic18 or lower is fine for dark games / levels. Like if you're playing at night location, the lower values is better. But 21 is fine.
My clip is on this account's channel, the last video (i'm not sure i can add links here), called 120 fps (but i recorded it at 144 fps, CQP value of 21, which gave me 2,4 Gb and 160 000 kbps, and the rendered 60 FPS version with 1440p upscale gave me 1,4 Gb and 47 000 kbps).

@@JenyaIsJustChilling I watched your video and am impressed because the audio is flawless.. would love to talk to you more about the CQP method, although this vid is captured from my twitch stream. I adjusted the CRF per your suggestions and as it turns out 10 works very well. If you have discord , please join my server (details in description).

Man you really should upgrade. You'll only benefit from the improved motion clarity and lower input lag, whatever benefit you think you get from muscle memory will be superceded by the higher sensory data. It might feel slightly off at first, but that's only because a higher refresh rate allows you to percieve your deficiencies better
