- I wanted to add more stats of CPU usage in this video. I do use the Interrupt Affinity Policy Tool to spread out the processing load across the different cores of my CPU to lower temps and avoid stutters. The 2nd core and thread handle the GPU and the 3rd core and thread handle the USB bus. If you're interested in doing this on your CPU, check out: • HOW TO - Interrupt Aff...
If you're interested in running QC at ultra settings and holding a stable 240fps, I think we've pretty much narrowed it down to the minimum system specs needed to do so in this video. Stats below:

I think I played with you in UHT, but I'm not sure. Your nickname is very familiar. Watched the entire thing. I just want to let you know that I have same FPS with 1070 - 3060 at 1080 low settings. The game is really hard with CPU and RAM like u said in the video. Keep up the good work! :)
Never played an arena besides Unreal Tournament 3 but the video was nontheless interesting
Well done
Great video. Thanks. You showed that your CPU can do around 400fps in Awoken regardless of the graphics settings.
There is one more thing that I wish we could test. But not with your GPUs.
The Nvidia drivers are a little bit more CPU hungry than AMD.
Since quake is very sensitive to CPU single core performance and memory latency. I have this theory that if you use a AMD GPU, it uses less resources on the CPU side and leaves more for the game. Hence you get better fps with AMD. I wish someone could test this.
Thanks for the video i play at 1080p low settings 5600x rtx 2060 stable 250 fps
As u said i need a new gpu for ultra settings
Have always thought part of the reason for quake champions failure is the high barrier for entry.
As informative as it is , it lacks the most important monitoring feature : a frametime graph. 0.1%s are not helpful
What about benchmarking during a full lobby UHT on some really hard map to have smooth and consistent frame rate ? :D
Check the description in the previous benchmark video as this basically meets those demands due to the presence of Eisen's turret, Slash's trail, and DK's flamestrike fx with the Bot difficulty turned up. We run Awoken and CK with lighting on high, uncapped fps, and 100% res scale and compare those results
An amateur comment: why do you even need 240 fps, isn't 120-140 enough for great performance?
In my experience in the first year or two of playing this game 120-144hz is enough. But after a couple of years playing in duel mode, you start to wish you had more FPS.
240 is the standard for competitive play, mostly because the monitors used at tournaments operate at this refresh rate.
It is also the highest framerate at which QC is the most stable and consistent. Many players play at 250 because it's smoother but 250 can also feel more floaty and rockets can feel like they register differently with opponents. Many players also prefer to uncap their FPS and that is a totally different feeling as the input lag feels a bit lower but movement and projectiles can feel more inconsistent.
144 fps is totally fine but like Hamidreza said, you need more if you play competitively.
