      mat ivie Cheers Matt I will be honest the stone is a bit of a guess and the brick and blocks are 60 brick to a square metre and 10 block to a square metre.
      1 ton of sand = 1000 brick , hope that all makes sense 👌🏼🧱👍🏼

    some nice work there bud , but ive had it with twany buff bricks was laying them for 12 months on our last development with yellow sand to boot glad to be on some ibstock brown bricks and normal red building sand , great work bud as all ways keep it up boys

    Great video. Just curious Never seen anyone in the UK use a brick barrow (brick trolley) you can move a leaf of bricks at a time instead of unloading by hand. Any idea what I mean?

    That's a very good match on the brick but are they the equivalent of a class B engineering as I noticed you were using them on the inner leaf of the cavity wall below ground level. Nice to see you filling in all the holes in.

    i got a question, why did you use single full block for half of the wall at the front and not for the rest of the wall?
    also why not using concrete blocks but for what it seems they are thermal blocks, before dpc level.

      No need for a cavity wall across a door way.
      Those are trench blocks which are designed to be used only in foundations 🧱👍🏽

      Morning mate. We return it only below dpc for the concrete. It’s left open above and we fit insulated cavity closers after 🧱👍🏽

      Morning Steve, you don’t get any problems with moisture tracking under the door threshold back in to the floor do you or do you leave some dpm proud of DPC to butt against the threshold to prevent cold bridging?

      MrStella1976 we have visqueen up and over the brickwork plus a 25 mm strip of insulation around the whole perimeter of the slab for th cold bridging . The door is upvc too 👌🏼🧱👍🏽

      james swain Evening James , unfortunately I never bought it . I worked on conservatories for over 14 years and it is the reinforcement aluminium from inside the frames , had it for years . Not sure where to buy one from though , sorry 😬🧱👍🏼

    And also I'd love someone to clarify to me about the different methods in uk and Ireland, Ireland what you see is that the builders leave done the outside block or brick 225mm where they run plastic over the inside block down the face of it and after the floor is poured you would then put on the outside course up to damp leval ,,,, uk floor I don't see any plastic running through the outside course the uk seem to bring up outside and inside toghter,

    Why do you use the collection of bricks for the meter or so on the inner leaf connecting to the existing back wall instead of the concrete blocks used for the rest of the inner perimeter ?. cheers - i have learned lots on this channel for my own build - keep it up

      reedy That was where the lintels didn’t course in with the blockwork so it worked out 2 course of brick and not three ( 1 course block = 3 course of brick ) . Hope that makes sense 🧱👍🏼

    Why do you return the block into the brick when your going to pour concrete over it

      The concrete doesn’t go over it . The top of block is DPC which is top of concrete 🧱👍🏼

    Hey lads! Can I have some advice im using trench blocks and I got footings 1 meter deep x 600mm wide, how deep do I go with my concrete for the pour ? I would appreciate your help so much as in a pickle 🙏

      You need minimum of 150 mm but we generally put more in .
      Follow the gauge on the house for you brickwork and brickwork .
      I can’t really advise without seeing the job . More concrete equals less work up to damp and less brick / block but concrete is dam expensive now 😬🧱👍🏽

      @@SteveAndAlexBuild such a speedy reply for 9:30 on a Sunday morning this is why you guys are the best building channel on CZcams! Ok I’ll follow the gauge of the brick work down and transfer it to footings, your right that’s my point concrete is £125m3 in Kent, I got in a right pickle as I’ve got 32.11 m of footings to fill at 1 meter deep and I nearly ordered the full depth of 1 meter like a idiot it was £2800 including pump 🤢 it’s a pay as you go project I’m doing out my wages every month and been stuck with footings for past 3 months so now just need to get the concrete poured if
      You know what I mean so dogs etc or when drunk friends don’t fall down it 🤣🤣

    Hey ste n al Just a quick question, why didn't the customer? Go all the way across. The wideness of the property wud of bin a nice size that lookin at next doors garden looks like there's enough space.

      Chris Whitehead . As with most jobs it all boils down to cost . Moving the concrete manhole and drains would have cost a fortune plus all the pipes have loads of concrete encasing then 😬🧱🧱👍🏽

      Thats bummer that... this is why my architect Does all the drawings? All the pipework is down the side at the front of the house. If anyone wanted to extend it in the future. They can do. It's all about putting 🛁🚽 in the right place.

      Mark Bruton We run a 25 mm strip of insulation around the perimeter to stop cold bridging then the concrete runs into the doorway 🧱👍🏼

    hi if you say 1 meter foundation, is this 1 meter upto DPC.if you say so, how much is thickness mixed concrete . thank you

      I think 1 m is up to dpc but not certain . The actual footing concrete was over 300 mm thick 👌🏼💪🏼🧱👍🏽

    Considering the work in fitting the lintels to get you over the pipes I am surprised you are putting in a ground bearing floor slab , I was expecting block and beam . You have done a load of work no one will ever see , shame
