    Hello, I'm just a novice bricky, nowhere near your standard, just wondered what you were using as a string line, could not see it properly but looks much better than using pins.. Good work guys

      Hi Richard, we use the brick clamps and have never looked back as they are easy to set up and quick to adjust.

    @ 13:19 glad you explained that one. first thought was to tooth in but mate those are thumb joints- were they trying to match a 65mm brick with old imperial on the original house?
    great vids by the way, thanks for posting

      Yeah they were! They didn't achieve it though! I believe the original extension was built by the last owners who weren't in the construction industry.

    Help! Can you use solid block for outter as well as inner leaf below dpc?

    Why no brick ties or insulation?

    • @dpsbuildingltd530
      @dpsbuildingltd530 Před rokem

      No ties below ground as a lean mix goes into the cavity. Insulation was placed on top of the slab 👍

    insulation??

    • @dpsbuildingltd530
      @dpsbuildingltd530 Před 2 lety

      The insulation was placed on top of the slab. We normally put it under but the building regs drawings for this extension required it over.

    Why not use foundation blocks instead of all that brickwork underground that no one will see? Just wasting time doing all that dead work

      We were going to us them but we had trench block shortage in our area at that particular time so instead of waiting a week we decided to go up with a cavity wall to keep to the schedule.

    Starts telling you how important it is to lay the first courses plum to dictate the superstructure, then builds a corner plumbing from the inside & not the face of the bricks which the first course should really be concrete blocks ‘cause it’s below DPC and won’t be seen! 😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
    Do not listen to this 🤡.

      Once again a non builder thinking they know it all. I suppose your name is Google. You might want to go to supersavers mate as not once do i plumb from the inside. You might want to back to school as well as plumb is not spelt plum, that's a fruit. But thanks for your ravishing feedback.
