  • When you enter the Citadel for the first time in Mass Effect 2, you get stopped at a C-Sec security checkpoint by Sargeant Haron.
Normally, the conversation only has one way of playing out - Shepard has to deal with the inconvenience of being considered dead by the C-Sec scanners.
However, there is some hidden dialogue in the game files that contains an entirely different conversation if Shepard had already met with the Council and decided whether to renew their Spectre status or not. Since access to the Presidium is restricted before you get past the scanner, it is impossible to trigger this dialogue normally in the final version of the game.
This cut piece of dialogue includes mention of Executor Pallin, who you could meet in ME1, and a short reference to Shepard's adventures on Noveria. Garrus, Jacob, Miranda and Mordin will make some brief comments as well.
This video contains all the cut squadmate comments as well as all possible responses when talking to the C-Sec officer working at the Zakera Ward security checkpoint, Sergeant Haron.

It's interesting that in this variant of the plot, Pallin was killed during the Geth attack. As far as I remember, canonically, latet on Pallin is killed by Bailey

I'm fairly certain that the executor gets killed during the Geth ground attack during the battle of the Citadel in official canon. I've never heard the part with Bailey before.

@@r0cketm00se3 It was in one of the tie-in comics to me3, plus in me3 Bailey himself retells Shepard this story, if you ask him

I wonder if the Citadel had a different layout at some point during development. I don't think there's a logical way to even see the Council before passing through C-Sec, so this dialog wouldn't have been necessary otherwise.

My guess is that you would have communicated to the council in the Normandy before recruiting people.
