They both seem very articulate and in touch with the psychology of music production that I think a lot of people miss. Just as important as the technicalities of the craft. Great to see and hear.
Great commentary on their workflow but they literally didn't hit play once lol
Its part 1 mate
They look like there were fighting each other just before the film crew showed up.
what?
no they dont?
😂 this is funny because there is a bit of a serious vibe but Ivy lab smash it every time.
"I'm gonna sit in front of the screen."
-"Nono... I'M gonna sit in front of the screen... I do all the work!
"You do all the work??! You don't do fuc-"
*door opens*
"Oh hey hi! welcome to our studio."
ABSOLUTE LEGENDS OF THE MODERN SCENE
And there are People complaining about the talking, guys imagine how much time they must spend in the studio allow them the chance to speak and listen! If i’m learning something from someone who’s craft i admire , i think they deserve the benefit of being listened to!
Wow, can't believe you guys got Ivy Lab to do a special. So sick
These guys are a big inspiration so it was amazing to see this
Really interesting video… Love their music!
such a great video. so much wisdom in how guys operate.
I found their words much useful in a way of working with someone, thanks for video!
20/20 in 2020 AWESOME 👍😋
Where is the full vidéo ? Or the part 2 ?
Would be nice to actually hear some music!!!
LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!
My favorite band. Hope to see some more insights.
What is the model and brand of speakers?
This is interesting. I've done 3 joints with them and this is really the most I've ever heard them speak! Interesting. What a thing to stumble across at 1:43 in the morning! 👍
And all three of them were sublime ;]
@@tobypage7189WOW. Thank you, man! 😊
@@Songboy3 Afterthought, in particular, is such an amazing effort from everyone involved ❤️❤️
@@Songboy3 My pleasure. Afterthought, in particular, was such an amazing turnout from everyone involved. The vocal really solidifies it as a very timeless production.
Cool to finally see this. Is there more insight on the actual track in part two?
Where the rest of the courses?
Computer Music Magazine are you considering a subscription/member web service for access to backlog videos?
What screen is it ? Looks great
👊
wow haven't seen anyone use glue on every channel ! Do you clip the master bus as well with it?
Guys! At first link in the Magazine was not working, now it leads to this video, instead of part 2. Please, do something about it! That was the only reason I bought this issue.
The full video is on filesilo where the Computer Magazine free VST's/tutorial files etc are. It doesn't say this in the issue but I just hoped it was in there and it is!
I would love to know more about their process of curating samples and one shots.
so is there part II ?
If you can find it go back to 2009 and watch sabre do a break down on his track “Leaf”. Absolute gold
Great to see Jonathan again.. What happened with ,Stray'?
what tune are they talking about? Maybe I can hear it somewhere.
the link for the full vid in the mag isn't working for me
and now the link just directs to this video...
I just found the full video on filesilo where you go to download the Computer Magazine free VST's/tutorial files etc. It's about a 1.3GB download.
@@profanebeatz thanks. Didnt think of that
Computer Music Magazine
I discovered their music a while ago and I'm completely astonished... Could you guys recommend artists who make similar music?
Some of my favorites who are pretty similar: Eprom, Deft, Starkey, Chee, Tsuruda. Also for a similar sound in drum & bass, try Buunshin, Imanu, or The Caracal Project.
Alix Perez as well
You’d probably enjoy Flying Lotus or some jazzy IDM stuff too
Two fingers
Check out Lab Group and individual members of it Potions, Charelsthefirst RIP, and Supertask. Alot of the stuff published under the Deep Dark and Dangerous imprint has a similar vibe
What’s your safe word?
These guys are awesome, but...uh...some music?
You folks are killing me...LOLOL!!!
It's pretty easy to fine their music on this exact platform...
I think the most important question I have is about the Magic Mouse lol. I hate mine and had to put pads on it
Umm where is part two?:O
Song from intro?
P.s. keep going boys. I cant paint without your chunes
Ivy lab space war
Yaaay
Doug Funnie and Skeeter Valentine came to mind for some crazy ass reason.. Maybe I am crazy lol
Part 2?
Been out of the game for 2+ years do to mental health and getting my sound design stolen! Trynna get my feet wet again, appreciate the video
Wasn't Halogenix in Ivy Lab too?
Yes he left the group a while ago so now it's just these two
j didn't know that, cheers for the info.
Yeah he was, when he left it was clear that the brought the spark that made them so popular. His new releases sound exactly like the Ivy Lab a lot of people miss. Kudos to them for going a new direction but I still think together they would have made some more beautiful drum and bass.
@@JMotiveMU Yeah but lets not forget the amazing contribution that these two have had to the DnB scene. Sabre in particular, but Stray's footwork inspired efforts were also amazing... And i think Stray was the first of the three to really experiment with that halt time, downtempo vibe with 'Matchsticks'.. which is such a great tune.
Love that you guys use Logic. I feel like most electronic music producers use Ableton these days. Awesome video and amazing music.
Nah, it's deffo FL. Tho realistically, the DAW means near nothing sound wise
@@illford6921 Sound wise, correct…But I’ve been a Logic user for the last 12 years. 100% that’s Logic.
@@aerialgrey2566 abelton kinda streamlines alot of stuff logic does tbh, i used logic for 3-4 years and things that are a click for abelton require external vsts or a workaround.
@@illford6921 FL for your typical type beats everyone makes not electronic music, ableton for most electronic music is what most use yes.
Can you clear them out on over to my computer 🙂
Well that was 25 mins of my life I won’t get back
:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Alright so who is the mix engineer?
Pretty sure these guys do their own finalising at Devon Analogue Studios. If you've got knowledge of their individual backgrounds you'll be comfortably aware that they're capable of putting decent tune out.
nooooooooooooooooooo waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy :O
They look sad
I hope part 2 is better... 😒
didnt learn a thing, too much talking and no teaching
Exactly bro but this is a running theme on the "first part" of the tutorial they tell you sod all and waste 30mins talking then the second video which you have to pay for by buying a computer music subscription they do a bit of producing LOL
Like politicians dodging questions literally learnt nothing...
Almost as if someone else mixed it for them and they are keeping quiet about it. So weird
this channel used to be good
That’s the most disappointing video I’ve ever seen! 1 I was hoping it was a dnb masterclass because ivy labs dnb is unreal! 2 they didn’t hit play or show anything about sound design at all really!
No tricks or tips whatsoever in this video. Don't waste your time watching.
That’s the whole point there isn’t any special tricks that will magically make you better at producing
@@chrisgaleana9360 said no one EVER!!!! Every. Single. Producer. Learned all their tricks from other producers!! Steal a tip. Use it. Grow from it.
Grant Hunt yes that true but this just shows their work flow and arrangement. the only two tricks they show you is to go into the vocal and turn up the voluming then they add a drum bus to their drums rack for more distortion.
haha but we cant hear shit
What is wrong with these two? They speak more then my misses.
Endle 185 they do bud
I'm dying over here!!!! LOLOL!!!
I'm surprised they have any tunes out with the amount of shit this guy talks.. Can see why halogenix left now
бла бла бла(((
