Seen in the comments there is some confusion about the editing when I speak about the Prophet 6 and Prophet X. To clarify - from 1:10 it's the PX I'm on about.
And yes, I said 'spontinuity' instead of 'spontaneity' - was a long day...
Also, I wasn't saying my pedals were cheap or shit, I meant that pedals in general, including cheap and shit ones, are great (and fun) for running sound through.
Still to this date, Leon is a huge inspiration for me with his dancefloor and ambient works. Especially with Nothing is Still LP. Mad respect for this guy
Speaking of history, I have a huge connection with Nothing Is Still record. My grandma died in Covid and I was really sad and all these days, I woke up and put on my shoes to go jogging around my neighbourhood with Nothing Is Still on my headphone. There's literally nobody on the street and it elevates the music experience into a next level. Very surreal. If you are reading this, Leon, thank you so much for your record. Your music healed me completely during the Covid time. Take care, my friend.
I used to go walking for a couple of hours and listen to Music for the Uninvited on loop for similar reasons years ago and I still cherish those memories
Leon Vynehall has been one of my most listened-to artists throughout my life and I'm so happy he has been my life soundtrack, can not wait for more soudwaves!
What I love the most about this tour is his explanation of comfort in his studio :)
Leon Vynehall is a genius incredibly talented musicians who is one of my favourites of all time!!
Cool artist and person. The rhyme was a nice addition „you can have all the gear but no idea“ . How true
Butterflies is one of my Top 20 all time pieces. Big fan!
The groove of that woodblock rhythm gets my head bobbing every time :D
Man is a legit genius and true original.
Leon Vynehall is in my top 3 artists of all time, really cool to see his creative space
Gotta love this guy. Down to earth, passionate, knowledgeable, relatable, and extremely talented obviously
Are off he’s 🍆?
Man I love his music. So meditative yet hard hitting
1:44 I love this philosophy when it comes to art, sometimes my favorite sounds come from literal toys that I found at the dollar store
Such a fun video ,thanks for sharing.
What a great space.
thank you for this ❤
love leon vynehall, brother and butterflies are amazing tracks
Loved this
Great guy, cool space, wonderful music!
Lovely set up. It comes thru in his sound. One of the the best DJ sets I ever heard was him in Brooklyn few years back.
One of my favorite Deep/Dub Techno producers!!! Thank you RA!!!
Great and so down to earth artist with a lot of knowledge and passion ! Super inspiring.
amazing person and producer
Weirdly edited to make it sound like he's talking about the Prophet 6 having the samples of piano, etc, when he's actually talking about the Prophet X there.
yeah! that was weird
Legend!
Spontinuity is a cool new vocab word. Spontaneous Continuity
Golden
if more studios had that living room feeling we all would be in different place as an industry
Jesus crist, been waiting for this years!
Good explanation how he feels about having a studio, and making music.
i can acknowledge!
great video!
what a great space! very inspiring
Legend
paid off his parents debts - what a hero ❤
"comfortable enough to feel vulnerable" wow
This guys album changed my life when I was like 15
Leon o teu amor e entrega à música são inspiradoras!
What a studio. Very fortunate to have seen him live multiple times and fleetingly met him in Belgium. Nothing is Still, may be one of my favourite albums of all time. So creative, love it.
Nice studio Leon! Really like the vintage fx units.
Great spaceship! 🚀
Thanks for showing our unit and the sound of the liquid switch 🔥🙏🏽
The Tom Elmhirst connection is great, those speakers must come with some magic.
Lotta love for Leon and Moxie too 💪
Looks like a really nice guy.. i understand why i'm feeling close to his music.
legend
Wow..
Saw this guy dj at hidden in mcr a good few years ago , amazing set set . Proper build up and journey like djs used to do it
I need to check out more of his music, but "Midnight on Rainbow Road (Beat Edit)" is one of the most sublime tunes I've ever heard
Try listening to his album Nothing Is Still cover to cover without interruption. I promise you'll find it rewarding
much better than trying to pick apart his studio rack on that one amoeba video. love this guy's sounds
this guy is so cool
I remember an old video of him still having long hair and making music in a typical bedroom studio, he went a loooong way since then, both as an artist, and as an owner of equipment. A real artist with a great taste for anything really, I might say :D even his book was pretty awesome. (but he didn't answer my email about that book, and that was sad! lol)
Talks about his pedalboard:
“You can really garner a lot of really interesting results from really cheap pieces of shit”
*shows a Chase Bliss CXM*
Legend! Bicep next please RA
We need a Nothing is Still repress!!
I like how he talks about pedals being often cheap option for processing sound while having only the front part of the pedalboard at cost of like 2000+ euro :))
(don‘t get me wrong, I love pedals and I totally agree with Leon, just for many people affordable pedals price tags starts quite lower imho)
ever since the fac mix years ago, this guys talent has not escaped me. Risky Business brother.
👏
Couldn’t find the third track in the description, Al Fonzo. Anyone know about that?
Me neither
Also couldn't find it anywhere. Might be a preview of an upcoming release??
Leon is a true minimal icon
Couldn't agree more with his last statement. Yes you should break the rules, but first of all you need to learn them so you even get an idea what rules you could break.
Did I will this into the world?? Thanks
Would love to know what books he has on those shelves
Description needs to be fixed. The first song is called "Movements (Chapter III)".
No mention of the Arturia Polybrute under his ProphetX?
"I've become the custoidian" - When your mate lends you something and you never give it back 😂
Hungry for curiosity? Great interview though fr
All that goodies and decide the use the UAD Apollo converters, damn
6:21 What piano is this?
no mixer tho; probably straight into sound card?
spontanuity
Nice video, love his music too. The editing on the Prophet 6 and X part is a bit weird. He names the 6 and then starts talking about the X, which has samples. But the X is not introduced (aside from his finger being on it)
Yeah I was like eh whatttt the P6 can do that???!
Also talking about cheap pedals and the video is on the chase bliss 1979 and Microcosm - whoever edited this does not know their gear
Or skipping the Polybrute XD
We will 😊😊
I like the tungsten vibe. But the editing is so erratic! 5:46 He's talking about the big knobs on the Shadow Hills Golden Age... then as he says "it looks amazing" we cut to the bottom of the rack. If you want to see it go back to 5:14.
Shirt ID?
Is spontinuity a word? 0:23
There’s leg day, today was blouse day 😂
Hahaha “cheap pieces of shit” as he’s pointing to the Chase Bliss CXM verb pedal which is around £800 and the microcosm 😂
Love LV tho great music
Man said spontenuity lol
good luck troll no one cares what you say
The video is poorly edited to make it seem like you can have samples in a Prophet 6🤦♂️
Unless an artist actually gets into his or her creative process and HOW the gear is used, this is just gear pornography.
Love his music, but come on now, leaving the shirt half unbuttoned to accidentally show off the tattoo is a bit much.
