    The music industry was and still is to a lesser extent a crooked business. SO many bands got taken for a ride and cheated. I was a huge Roller maniac back then, and it's truly sad how they got used and ripped off. RIP Alan, Ian, and Les. You are loved and missed.💔💘

Les McKeown explained in an interview, he just received his money in 2020 from the years of battling the record company, only to pass away suddenly in 2021...Brutal!...didn't even live long enough to enjoy that money. Hopefully, his wife & son can use it. Feel bad for all of them. & Then Allan passed away too. Only Derek, Woody, & Eric left now. Ian Mitchell has passed away too.

    An abomination that those mgrs. accountants, offshore accountants got away with. They misused & misappropriated the funds that did not belong to them, and they were allowed to get away with it. Every one involved should be in prison. The monies need to be restored w/ interest to the band members. And those cretans should be imprisoned. The Bay City Rollers did all the work & those ingrates reaped in all the money. How the hell does that happen??? Tell me. Somebody needs to go after the whole gang & imprison them for wrongful taking. THEY, the Bay City Rollers should be compensated w no. 1 bringing on a suit & 2, adding INTEREST for every year they didn't get paid. I am appalled to hear that after all these years it went nowhere. What are these guys supposed to live on? While the perpetrators took THEIR money & bought themselves nice homes, cars & a better quality of life than the band members don't have. THIS IS UNFAIR. Somebody, a lawyer, has to make it right. NOW 90% w/ interest should be paid to the band members + a fine for more money just for spite. And those involved should have their homes etc. repossessed. They should have never hired that mgr. who exploited them like that. I would have kicked his sorry ass into a sewer tunnel.

      Linda Cray is right. They were simply a bunch of young Scottish lads who enjoyed themselves, making people very happy and making great music. They were told by Tam Payton (their bastard criminal of a manager) and others in the record companies they were with that they were being looked after in that department i.e. royalties, finances, Inland Revenue etc. and not to worry about anything (Les McKeown and Stuart 'Woody' Wood talked about it in a recent BBC documentary about their career).The truth of the matter is that Payton etc. were not only helping themselves but putting the lad's money in offshore tax havens (I wonder if Tam Payton's name or the execs of Arista Records were ever found on the Panama Papers? That could be an avenue the BCRs could go down). To Payton, the lads were there to work their giblets off and be at his beck and call, no matter what cost to them physically, emotionally or mentally. They said he was an intimidating person … and that was being polite for the cameras!
      It doesn't matter who you are, what age you are or how street wise and savvy you are, there are nasty people who get away with theft and murder in ways that would take your breath away. The BCRs were not the only ones who were fleeced by the music industry's wolves in sheep's clothing. Gilbert O'Sullivan was ripped off by dodgy management and music executives in the 1970's... and he was roughly the same age as Alan Longmuir (RIP) when he started out in the music business. He fought them through the courts for years until he finally won through and got back what was rightfully his. @@MrHairyNeck

    • @SuperGingerBickies
      @SuperGingerBickies Před 5 lety +8

      +W S … Think logically here. If you have watched ANY of their TV shows? The high pitched screaming teenage fans would have made it practically impossible for the lads to make themselves heard live in confined spaces such as studios. The noise must have made any decibel measuring devices go completely bonkers. I'm surprised none of the band members have hearing aids by now. Besides, in the 1970's, virtually all singers mimed/lip synched on TV shows. Give the guys a break.

    • @waterbird91
      @waterbird91 Před 5 lety +8

      Sometimes THAT'S the way it has to be. There's a LOT of noise involved in a "live" concert, & it just doesn't sound the same. IT WAS STILL THEIR VOICES U WERE HEARING, NOBODY ELSE. lIVE CONCERTS ARE BETTER WHEN THE CROWD IS SMALLER, but when u go stadium BIG the sound goes out in different directions. Plus, it's tiring to have to sing above the screams. ASK THE BEATLES, they had the same problems.They still played their own instruments, what the hell MORE do u want???? The Bay City Rollers did a great job, they loved playing for their audiences, they got even super close to the fans that even jumped on them, (which the fans should NEVER have done. Today's bands don't make themselves THAT accessable anymore for THAT reason, being pulled off the stage by a maddening crowd just to be able to touch & kiss them. All of that just to please the crowd of people going ballistic @ their concerts.
