  • In July 2018 I flew to Vancouver to start a bike trip of the Americas. This is the 6th video, where we cross from Baja to the mainland of Mexico and cycle south to Guatemala. Our group went off at different paces, but I stayed with Chris and Dea to take the smaller roads. We sometimes wild camped, and sometimes the friendly locals allowed us to camp in their gardens, outside their restaurants or in the playgrounds and football pitches of their villages.
I eventually found a solution to my dodgy wheel thanks to Enrique, and after 89 days in Mexico, we arrived in Guatemala.
    So far:
    Canada - 44 days
    USA - 90 days
    Mexico - 89 days

I highly recommend checking out Chris' version of the story in his book. The three books are all great!

Just been reading about you and this part of your journey in Chris’ book. Weird to put faces to words, not always what you imagined. Not in any detrimental way of course! 😂

Hey, I didn't see this comment until now somehow!
Chris' books are great. I'd read his blogs in the past but I had no idea he was on my route until he showed up at the right time to help me fix my bike in Baja California. 😂
I had an amazing time cycling with Chris, Dea and all the others we met along this section of the trip.

Hi! Glad you've enjoyed them. I made it to Panama and finished my trip there, deciding to leave South America for another time. So I'll get a few more videos of the rest of my trip made this year.
I recently moved back to Japan to teach here again so I'll hopefully get a few short trips here soon too.

You can't get it at a train station but maybe an outdoors shop. I got one from Montbell. I think it cost around 7,000 yen and is only about the size of a water bottle when packed up.
