  • Anytime a driver parks in a disabled parking spot, they have to hang a placard. Stanley Roberts rode around with Lee Christensen of the Phoenix Police Department's Volunteer Division to look for altered or missing placards all around the Phoenix area.

Kalifornia is welcome to charge big bucks for that, but they need to ditch the "assessments" for traffic infractions that boost the original fine by 4-5 times.

Would be great seeing volunteers for general parking fines. People parking on sidewalks, parking in crosswalks, parking in bus stops, parking in bike lanes. You call the police, at least where I live, and they tell you an officer will investigate in 2-4 weeks.

Thank you, Stanley, for shining light on this important subject.
I've lived in Arizona for five summers. As a former 50-year resident of Southern California, where handicapped parking violations are regularly enforced, I am disappointed with Arizona's lackadaisical attitude toward the rights of disabled citizens.
The reason Arizona was the LAST state to join the Union of the Lower 48 is becoming painfully obvious with each passing year.
This state needs new blood and a different attitude toward taxpayers, minimum wage earners, disabled people, and CONSUMER PROTECTION.
