Don't Speak Her Name is an amazingly underrated piece, especially for how well it fits the part of the game it plays in.
Its underrated cause fire emblem as a whole sucks lmao
@@dhans9662 Hard disagree, the gameplay and music are consistently solid, but it's true enough that the writing and character quality can vary drastically even within the same game.

There's just something about Mario's music, where even the pieces I don't necessarily know sound like I've known them forever, because the composers know exactly what Mario music should sound like, while still being creative.
Lack of Xenoblade is criminal given its of the few games that ACTUALLY got nominated for best score at the game awards

As much as I like this song, my pick for 2012 would be the dark pit theme
i love how every1 (myself included), calls the champion theme from G/S "red's theme", we all have just come to know it as his theme after the ass kicking he gave us in our casual runs (dont deny it)
This was awesome! Very pleased with the Zelda love but NGL I'm super surprised we didn't get New Horizons in 2020 and Metroid Dread in 2021.

I dont recall 1981 Donkey kongs theme being that one, as fas as I know that the intro for donkey kong country, I might be mistaken.

The reason you saw Cranky Kong (a.k.a. the Donkey Kong from the original game) with the song on his old piano is because it was the original theme.

If your're doing Link to the Past as your game for 1991, I'd go with Zelda's Lullaby/theme to represent it, as that's where it was introduced.
A Link to the Past is where a lot of staple Zelda music was introduced, including the chosen Fairy Fountain music, which is arguably played more frequently than Zelda’s theme because it also serves as the File Select music for games until BotW. Not saying that Zelda’s theme wouldn’t have been a suitable choice to represent ALttP, just wanted to also stand behind what was chosen.
ALttP set the standard and themes for what followed, not many people give it enough credit, so many overlook it for Ocarina of Time, when OoT was basically ALttP 3D lol

Only 1 theme per year, and samus's theme is the most iconic one of Metroid. I can't think of another unique theme for Metroid that didn't lose to another game in the year it came out.

Imagine trying to narrow down all of Nintendo's music to just one song from one game per year... You could probably remake this list without repeating any games from this version, barring maybe a couple of the pre-NES years, and still get an impressive collection of songs. Nice medley, and some really interesting choices trying to spread things around and show off different franchises some.

there are only a few 2021 1st party IP games that were released new. "New Pokemon Snap", Mario Golf Super Rush, Wario Ware get it together, and Mario Party Super Stars. The one that should have music mention though should have been Metroid Dread.
Second one isn't the main theme to Mario at all
Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. are two separate games. Mario Bros. came first, and the only music it has is on the title screen (what’s played in this video) and a short jingle when starting a new game.
I can think of at least three themes that fit Breath of the Wild better than Kass's (like all four Champion's theme's, for instance).
