- Should I work with a recruiter to find a job? This is a question all candidates should think about if they already haven't. In this video, I will explain the difference between an internal corporate recruiter and a headhunter or 3rd party external recruiter. There are benefits to working with both and I will explain why.

EVERY WEEK I will be sharing tutorials on LinkedIn, Facebook, and CZcams on just how to move us forward and close the frustration gap.
I speak to industry professionals on a daily basis and take clear notes on what they are facing. The issues, concerns, and questions that I will be addressing come directly from the field….directly from the candidate…directly from the recruiter!
I will be sharing organization, interviewing, networking, and other career tools; using practical tips that take the overwhelm out of career search and professional growth.

I've used the service of a 3rd Party Recruiter for the first time 2 years ago! He was amazing! I have to say that there is a lot of recruiters out there that are calling once...then never hear them again.
You are spot-on, there are so many bad recruiters out there but when you get a great one, hold on to that connection because it pays dividends. Glad to hear he was amazing!
Great content Jeremy,
Thank you Jeremy for such valuable information.
My pleasure
Nailed it!!
Thank you for that David!! :)
Jeremy, great episode, thank you. I'm a huge fan of yours. The real question: how to find the right recruiter or headhunter? I applied in a couple of places but to no avail. Do you have any suggestions? I live in New Jersey.
Thank you for the kind words Pawel. To answer your question I need to know a few things. Please email me at jeremy@geckohospitality.com and I will point you in the right direction.
@@JeremyNichols Thank you very much. I will do it right now.
Interested in relocating to Nevada. 15 years in the restaurant industry. 6 years of management experience. Curious what might be available.
I would love to talk to someone like this! I am a stay at home father preparing to get back into the workforce and I am interested in Human Resources. Any tips or advice?
Hi Shawn, if you are looking for HR leaders I would say LinkedIn is the cheapest and one of the easiest ways to find an HR leader. Look up the specs of what you want (industry, location, niche) and connect and then reach out. If you are looking for headhunters it is similar but you just need to look at the title (sometimes the company name to see if it is a firm). I am not sure what your background and work history is so if you personally are looking to get into HR I do not know if you are entry-level or seasonsed.
What are the best options for headhunters out there? I'm a founder of a startup now looking to move forward. Don't know where to start.
Are you yourself a headhunter? Looking to start a practice OR are you looking for employment and seeking a headhunter?
Hi Jeremy , can you shear best way to get in touch with (in general) contingency recruiters.
Hi! The best way to connect with contingency recruiters is through LinkedIn, by searching for recruiters in your industry and reaching out with a personalized message. Additionally, attending industry networking events and joining relevant professional groups can also help in building connections with these recruiters. Remember to clearly communicate your career goals and experience in your outreach.
I live in Iran and have +7 years of experience as a developer. Want to find a recruiter in England or the Netherlands. how can find them?
Hi, Jeremy i have been driving & food delivery for long time ,now i really want to do something else, do you have any recommendations? I really i want a good paying job ASAP, i don't know for which job i can qualify for. Possibly looking for something that pays above $23/hr
Thank you so much
looking forward to hearing from you
That's going to be tough for me to answer. Only you can know that. Ask yourself what you need for salary, how many hours, where can you work (geographic) and what are your passions. Start there, make notes and attack
Great. How can i contact you. I'm interested in the recruiting space, and im eager to learn and find a coach.. thnks

How much do recruiters and headhunters cost?
They should cost a candidate NOTHING and for a client, its typically a fee worked out by that agency or recruiter.
Hi how can we contact you as a head hunter. Darlene Howe
Hi Darlene, you can reach me at jeremy@geckohospitality.com
I am looking to leave the federal government and work as a Network Manager in a company that does not mandate their employees take COVID vaccination and testing. Can a Head Header services use this criterion to narrow down my job search?
A headhunter will work whatever searches they have on their plate and nothing more. If they have a few searches that are a match for you they will certainly be able to tell you if that is a requirement since they take that intel during intake calls. So to answer your question yes, they can to a degree.
@@JeremyNichols Thank you, I'm planning to move my family to a state that does not have this mandate. Do you have a link or post to reputable
Head Hunters hired by companies in the IT sector? I'm looking at Georgia, Florida, Texas, and the southern states.
@@chris-zu6sf I am not too familiar with IT but I would do a quick google search or hunt on linked for "IT recruiter" and then hit the filters for those states. From there I would get 3-4 that you like and trust to rep you. Hope that helps.
@@JeremyNichols You definitely have been a blessing to me at this time. I've served the military and as a federal employee and am watching your videos on resume and Cover Letter. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
@@chris-zu6sf I thank you for service and I am happy to help. I made this channel exactly for that reason so it makes me happy to know you are finding value.
I've had over 30 interviews through headhunters, not one job offer, no follow ups, no feedback. Also, some of these folks are downright scammers and one of them took $300 from my debit card triggering fraud alert. This "extra weapon" in my arsenal has literally wasted my time on the order of months in my job search. I have agreed to be rep'd by a recruiter for a job many times only to have my inbox spammed later that day or the next day by 3-10 OTHER recruitment firms trying to fill the same position. These people are all just leeches, if they got you a job it just means that you could have easily done it yourself.
That's exactly how it goes, unfortunately. A solution is to wait, be patient, and work with a reputable recruiter from a notable firm. They may not be the first to reach out to you, but be vigilant and don't go for the first recruiter out of urgency or honestly, even carelessness. For example, I've been repped several times by recruiters at first contact, only to have a recruiter I worked successfully with before, contact me about the same role. So the recruiter I actually knew wasn't able to rep me. There are, at times, ways to find these positions yourself, with some handy 'search engineering'. So be patient, and don't waste time on recruiters who are blatantly treating their profession as a numbers game.
It's crucial to exercise discernment when choosing a recruiter. Researching their reputation and past successes can save you from potential scams and ensure a more focused, effective job search. Remember, a good recruiter should add value to your job search, not just increase your spam emails.
