  • 5 Things Recruiters Won't Tell You Through The Hiring Process. Things recruiters won't share about the job interview process and about hiring managers. Recruiters want the best for both candidates and the company. However there are things which are confidential, there are some interview secrets, recruiters can’t share them with you but I will:
    #1. You didn’t stand a chance after a bad first impression. First impressions still mean a lot. There are some recruiters which will put the first impression aside. But unreturned calls, bad manners, sloppy interview will definitely hurt your chances for then next round.
    #2. You could have gotten a higher salary. Salary negotiations are a bit tug-of-war. Both job seekers and recruiters try to get the most suitable deal. No company would ever admit that they would actually pay more. There is often a salary range that recruiters have for each role. And a lot of times the initial salary offer can be negotiated to a higher amount.
    #3. Your references were bad. If a recruiter or hiring manager have doubts about you, they won’t let you know if your unflattering references confirmed their doubts. Bad references can ruin your candidacy as much as good ones can make it stronger. If you give out references, it should be of those who will say positive things about you. However backdoor references is now a sneaky way, for hiring managers and recruiters, to gather more information about you.
    #4. Your social media ruined your chances. What you've heard is true! Almost 80% of recruiters or hiring managers use social media to check out their applicants' social media presence. Which is why your social media has to reflect the image and the brand you are projecting. It should complement your resume and in a way speak on how truthful everything about you is.
    #5. Your appearance matters. Unfortunately, “Don’t judge a book by its cover” do NOT apply to most of job interviews. The candidate’s appearance should be irrelevant, but it can very much influence a hiring manager, it can either appeal to them or scare them.Of course the company is hiring you for your skills and capabilities, but the way you are dressed and groomed is important as well. Even if you are interviewing for a casual work environment, the general rule is to come well-groomed for an interview.

      It's all a process of humiliating men. Denying them money and making them beg for it. They don't even do it for good reasons though. They just do it to feel a sadistic sexual pleasure. In time you will learn that this is all there really is to it.

    The points you are making are really interesting. I also know that selling yourself too much is wrong. I worked in recruitment and I've seen a number of candidates not get offers for overdoing it on the self-selling and enthusiasm during final interviews. It's very hard to give that feedback, but helping an interviewee to prep and reminding them to be concise - sometimes helps them get the point.

    • @zak7578
      @zak7578 Před rokem

      Spot on. I agree. Trying too hard and being overly enthusiastic/excited about a role or company you don’t know very well indicates to interviewer you may have unrealistic expectations. The job may in fact be a toxic cesspit, the people difficult to work with, the environment stressful and so forth. Once you discover the truth, you’ll likely leave. It also puts a lot of power in their hands and they then feel less drawn to you. Best to play cards close to one’s chest and not believe everything they’re showing or telling you. As Marat pointed out they will pry and check on candidates with no qualms. In reality your political, religious, social media viewpoints etc. is your business not theirs. But life being life. The ubiquitous ‘candidates need to reflect the company’s image and values’ is the usual BS justification given ❤ What recruiters do not tell you often is what the ‘fit’ of a place is. The type of people who really do well there and are treated great versus those who aren’t. They can’t. They would never be able to hire anybody!

    Years ago when I was 19 or 20, I had interviewer kindly tell me that while I had my own style, I should focus on black or dark blue suits instead of the very cute purple one that I was wearing and had worn to other interviews. While I didn't get that job or most before that one, I did get the next one and have always been grateful for her candid advice. Despite being over qualified for the jobs I was applying for, as a young person I had no ideal how much how I dressed really mattered to those looking to hire.
    The suit was in the exact same style as the blue/black one except for the color! Dressing sample are so important for young people looking for work to have.

Calling recruiters names is ridiculous! You will indeed struggle to find employment!!! What this video shares is what savvy people need to know. The offer was $5K less than the salary she told me, she said they think I was less junior compared to another candidate that they saw. In talking with her, I was persistent on getting the alary expectation to be the on she said it was. What happened the next day was I got an email from her with the offer written up and the offer is just bump up $2K, still less than $3K she originally told me. I was very upset and at an impulse turned down the offer. But I really like to know because I am in between jobs, can they use that as a card to play down on my worth and present me with this offer?

If it's a senior role for example, I give a replacement guarantee of 6 months. So if someone I placed at a client company walks out after 2 months only that means I'll have to repeat the search for free (obviously not the best scenario).

      @myemmotion  Před 2 lety +1

      However there are also Temporary Recruitment Agencies, which hire under a 2-3 months contracts, that keep on extending. It's a different type of business, those type of agencies have a fame of not being very "candidate oriented", hence part of the bad reputation for recruiters.

    Very helpful video! I approached a hiring manager in the field that I’m going to school for . I told him I was interested in working for the company. I’m currently working as a contractor at this company. The hiring manager told me to send him my resume because they would be doing some hiring soon . After that, 2 weeks later I got an email saying that they were hiring with the application link attached from the hiring manager . I informed the hiring manager that I caught the opening and applied before he sent the link to me, but no communication after . Is there a chance I get a interview ? Thanks

      I am sorry but you have to understand that needing a work permit is not equal opportunity. They will first need to prove that there is no one else in that country that can do what you do, then if they manage to do that, there is a very lengthy process to get your work visa approved, and finally, once you get your permit, green gard etc, you might even leave that company in search of new opportunities... See it their way and it will be easier for you.

    *QUESTION* , here. The job title is the problem I am having with a job ad posted by a recruiter. The job title should *NEVER* be deceptive. Don't waste my time. Post the actual job title. Job titles mean something to people. I applied to a job that says "Supply Chain Specialist". After speaking to the recruiter, he sent me a different job description than from the one that was originally posted in the job ad which basically had more responsibilities, which I was okay with, but the responsibilities were things that wouldn't have been attraction getters for job seekers. He set up an interview for me about the "Supply Chain Specialist" position. When I received the job interview itinerary, it said "Customer Service Representative - (and then my name)." If I knew it was a customer service representative position, I would've never applied or even looked at the ad and I'm sure the recruiter knew that. I went on with the interview and am hoping to negotiate a job title, as customer service representative was not what I initially signed up for. But I doubt I will get the change, because if hired, I will be working with 13 other employees in the same department (I'm guessing the customer service department). There would not be much of a reason for them to change my title if I'm doing the same thing the other 13 customer service representatives are doing. Do not be deceptive. The way to lure people to jobs shouldn't be by lying to them about what you're getting into.
    What would your advice be for my situation?? Someone told me not to bring it up until I'm the candidate they choose to give an offer to. That way, I'd have more leverage. Do you agree??

    • @myemmotion
      @myemmotion  Před 2 lety

    My opinion based on the experience I think that in a job interview mostly an average of 45 minutes it's just fake for 2 basics reason, the applicant that is in need of the job (therefore anxious and insecure) will try to sell a good image in all possible ways to the recruiters, on the other hand, the recruiters with all the psychological conditionings and prejudices that might have will look through those filters to you, conclusion, all fake. in one hour like these, you will not really know the person you are interviewing; this reminds us of the marriage honeymoon but once the couple goes and live together the mask begin to fall down and the habitual I begin to show. Unless the applicant knows what the recruiter is exploring and both are sincere could be fulfilled the purpose of the interview.

    • @myemmotion
      @myemmotion  Před 4 lety +1

      I see where you are coming from. But what would you suggest? Hiring without an interview? Spending hours interviewing one candidate? You must have had a negative experience or experiences with recruiters.
      The whole point of job interviews is to feel comfortable. The dynamic should be a positive experience for both. If feeling anxious and insecure are literally the only feelings for a candidate through the interview process, then this candidate might not be in the right place. Neither when recruiters are evaluating based on prejudices, it is certainly not the company you would want to work for.
      That's why my number one rule is being honest, when you are honest and well prepared for an interview, there is nothing to be scared of, it all should flow naturally. If it clicks for both parties, great. If it doesn't then there is a reason for it.

    Recruiters are trash. I worked in IT from 1980-2017. The last job I got from one was 1986 (only got two jobs in the 80’s from them ). Now they seem to either represent trash companies or companies that never hire anybody because they’re too picky.
