  • A great days hiking from Grasmere up to Easedale Tarn, on up to Codale Tarn and then Stickle Tarn, before making it a circular walk back to Grasmere.
    I also met Lakeland and CZcams legend Eric Worsley, who was one fine fellow indeed!
    Check out Eric’s excellent CZcams channel jonathancraigguides.

    Eric has also produced several superb walking guides, for short walks around the Lake District.

    Top video Alan. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting you. It certainly was a superb day, spoiled only by the dark cloud around lunch time. Not long after saying goodbye to you I met another chap who told me he had got wet from a short, sharp shower whilst on Pavey Ark, so I was well pleased it had cleared through and brightened up by mid afternoon. It was certainly very warm and pleasant as I sat by Stickle Tarn a bit later on. I love the relaxed style of your videos. Your passion for enjoying the splendour of the fells shines through. Take care. All the very best. Eric.

      Yes, thank you for that. It arrived safely today. Just watched your Place Fell video. Loved it. About time I got back up there I think. It's been a couple of years since I last did it. I have a feeling that you shot that on the day I shot my Silver Howe video. A cracking day weather wise.

    I am going to have to stop watching your Video's Alan, You always manage to get my feet itching to get out there in the lakes and most of the time I know I can't as it's so far away from me here in the South East :-(. Nothing wrong with stopping for plenty of breathers Mate because as we all know, the day will come we will no longer get that chance to breath again ( oh that's a bit morbid, Sorry). Anyway it's all about the views and you will miss them if you rush. I envy your meeting with Eric. As you know i have been following his Channel for a while and I have chosen many a area to visit based on his great video's. I must say mate, you have some fantastic Pictures there, are they taken on a phone or pro camera, i think they are stunning. Keep up the great work mate, Love watching your adventures. ATB Jim

    Just watched this again Alan... At the end of March, I'm doing my first ever wild camp, solo as well and for three nights/4 days... I'm thinking of walking to Codale for one night camp then head to the other Angle Tarn 2nd night at Keswick side... And then down and up to Stickle for my last night. I will be carrying some weight about 15-16 kilos, do you think its a good plan... Never done anything like this before... I will be taking my time as not super fit at all, and I am 60... Your advice would be appreciated...

    • @AlanMETALMAN
      @AlanMETALMAN  Před 5 lety +1

      Well I am 64 on Tuesday, so if I can, you can and two ideal spots foe a wildcamp, with Codale tarn being the quieter of the two. Bit of a pull for Easdale Tarn to Codale Tarn, so if Easdale tarn is quite, that is a great spot as well. Hope you get the weather buddy, cheers Alan
