The frontier has ALWAYS been the dark horse in this race, even the previous generation was a very well built truck. this 3rd gen will be a very good long term model. I tested the old colorado, tacoma and ranger, and the pro4x was the one I got, cant beat the value for the features you get. Its been a really good truck.

Frontier is the name used for North America, Navara for the rest of the world. 3.8 engine and 9 speed were introduced in 2020 in the last generation.
Auto 4wd is not necessary, when the weather is getting bad , turn the knob, it isn't that hard..geesh !!

Nissan did a great job improving this truck. I don’t feel it is all new but new enough. Engine and transmission are really good as is ride and how quiet it is. I test drove it and did not like really stiff steering you referenced and lack of LEDs unless you opt for top level trim. I don’t mind and actually prefer manually going into four wheel drive modes, but if you are used to AWD then one may miss that feature. At the end I chose Tacoma because reliability and resale value, but no denying how good looking this Nissan is and great improvements.

I have a Pro X coming from a Titan it’s a fantastic little truck. The gas mileage sit somewhere around 20 mpg as a daily city driver and I have gotten up to 25 on the highway. Sadly the lower trim models just do not look that impressive if you’re looking for a basic fleet truck then it’s fine but not really gonna turn heads. The pro models are really nice looking get tons of compliments. Coming from a much larger truck this is the closest thing you’re going to get to driving a full-size. It’s built well even with the ac/radio off it’s quiet and the engine sounds smooth at higher speeds. The hydraulic steering is refreshing I hate electronic steering especially in a larger vehicle it’s just feels more grounded. The suspension is excellent. If you can find a dealership without any markup on these highly recommend buying one.

@@blairbreaks9521 Youre better off with a full size, unless you dont plan on using the back seats. Im 5'9" and there is little leg room in the Taco when seating 4 peeps. The truck is narrow compared to the nissan, so virtually no foot room on the backseat floor. My father is 6'1" and he look cramped in the taco when driving. Unfortunately the midsize segment cant seat 4 people without being cramped. Otherwise if its just you then youll be okay in the long run. I also noticed that not all of the window switches are lit up, only the drivers window switch. And the stalks are not lit up. I find that a bit odd. And I agree on the placement of the start button. After a month, I still struggle to find it.. Overall, I am VERY happy with this truck. It has just the right amount of technology to be current, with no gimmicks.

Nice truck here and a good alternative to the Taco. Toyota is probably not going to let Nissan outclass them for very long, it’ll be interesting to see. I wonder why Nissan did not go with electric steering and brakes just for the sake of gas mileage? Why did Nissan use leaf springs instead of coil springs? Most truck owners use them as daily drivers don’t they?

I will wait for summer and see where prices go with the inflation thanks to Biden and the chip shortage.
I really hope it gets better, because I've been doing my research on trucks and I want to buy my 4th Nissan.
Though if Ford has the new Ranger out and fixes a lot of issues I will consider it also. Though I will a dabick each truck apart if Ford gives the USA the Ford Ranger this summer, Nissan has a great suspension, yes its nothing new but it's been working great so 👍, though the Ranger is like ridding in a boat unless you by the Yacht lol, where Nissan is great! I hate how Ford only gives you a a better suspension on the Tremor and not on every level what the Fun...

How about this vision, put the old school roof racks on the new Frontier, how bad Ass will that look!!!

@@brad4527 yes, a 6 foot bed is an option. Now is not a good time to buy any vehicle, has nothing to do with Nissan in particular or the new model. Wait a year and the used market will be flooded with trucks as everyone is finally able to get a new truck.
