- The ALL NEW Frontier is here and Nissan has made some big changes. On the outside there is new sheetmetal, LED lighting, grill, wheels, and tailgate. On the inside you will be greeted to leather seating, 9in infotainment system, and heated seats. Under the hood is a 3.8L V6 that produces 310HP & is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X a BETTER truck than a Colorado ZR2?

If I had to choose between a Chevy or a Nissan, Iâd def choose a Nissan.
You know what man, your videos feel like you walk on stage for the first time and just let it rip in one take. I respect it. Love your vids as always Joe, have a good one âïž
Nissan hit right at the heart of the segment with this redesigned Frontier and the Pro 4X trim is certainly a good looking rig!!! đ great content as usual, Joe and Lori!!! Y'all got the reviews on lock!!!
Itâs great. Itâs updated in all the right ways while retaining a lot of the old school stuff that I like
Have had my Pro 4x for 6 weeks now So happy with my decision to buy it. So far itâs handling the beginning of the Canadian winter superbly.
I owned a first gen 04 Frontier, 3.3 non supercharged 4x4. Awesome little truck. Small and extremely slow but damn did it just run and run and never complained once. If I was in the market for a midsized truck I would definitely look at this all new Frontier. I love the styling and the interior
Just got a 2023 Pro-4X in super black with all the options. This thing is great. Driver has manual lumbar support. It's a tiny lever hidden just above the center console. The Fender system is amazing!
That color fits perfect for this truck. Loved it.
Great content once again Joe !! I just bought the pro 4x a month ago and has impressed me a lot in the back roads of Montana mountains on a daily basis I would recommend purchasing this truck,,FYI Joe my vehicle has a lumbar lever located on the top right side off driver's seat. Merry Christmas to you & Lori !
Thanks Eddie! I appreciate you sharing that ownership input.
Wow congrats dude!
My work has a Datsun forklift from 1950. It runs on regular pump gas. Still runs today and we still use it. Has something like 3 million miles on it
Hands down the best car review channel. He has his info and material down start to finish. Her camera work is really pro stuff. Steady pan and zoom. What a great team!
Bought my 22 Frontier pro-x in tactical green with lava cloth zero gravity seats. Very happy with it after 4600 miles so far way better than the other midsize competition! Even towed my 70 charger back from Chicago with this truck and u-haul trailer 6000lbs no problems pulled great great gas mileage. 26mpg on hwy
One thing I hear about this truck is the bad mpg, how did you manage 26?
Thatâs fantastic to hear! Congrats on your new truck!
@@austinr4771 thatâs a good point.
You're saying you got 26mpg WHILE towing 6000 lbs?? I'm guessing the real mpg while towing that load would be closer to 12mpg.
@@austinr4771 Baffles me why people lie about their true, everyday mpg. What's the point?
Merry Christmas Joe and Lori! Your channel has been great part of my life through the pandemic! Lots of entertainment, learning, and,... Twinkies!
Very nice, Joe. Keep it up. Lori really does well with the camera work.
From Arizona canât sleep and the new video popped up đ„
Also in AZ, but watching this instead of working đ
Joe, I pulled the trigger on the Pro4x (gun metallic) w/ a factory 3â lift. It looks fantastic. Thank you for all your reviews. You definitely helped me make and informed decision. Youâre one of my go to guys when looking for the latest and greatest reviews.
That is so freaking awesome! You got a great truckl!
how much did Nissan charge you for the lift and how's the ride?
thank you and congratulations!!
The OG reviewer is in the OG location. Letâs see if this Nissan is worthy of it! Glad to see Nissan has been busy updating their line up.
Great review. I traded my 2021 Colorado Z71 in for the 2022 Pro4X Frontier Tactical Green. I do have to say the screen and cameras are better quality in the Frontier than my Colorado. The Colorado screen was way too dark and hard to use at night. This new Frontier is way better than the Colorado in my opinion.
What year colorado cause i don't have any of those issues in mine and definitely wouldn't trade it for a Nissan. Oh and i went from a Nissan to my colorado and that Nissan was garbage along with the one before it. But to each their own i hope you have better luck with it then i did.
Great review Joe and Lori's camera work is always TOP NOTCH. Working up here in Canada for a Nissan dealership for over 14 years and seeing the same old same old this is by far the best version especially since they put the 3.8L and the 9 speed into the truck and gave it a more aggressive look as well as premium interior materials. Let's face it, it's not a serious off road machine like the BISON, but dollar for dollar and with all the onboard safety features as well as premium interior features, Bilsteins, more comfortable seats and a great everyday city/highway driver AND rock solid long term reliability and resale history, can't go wrong especially with the MSRP. It's very comparable to the TRD Sport and I'd never knock the Taco, great truck, just not as good as this new Frontier
Fellow Canadian here looking at getting the new Z or Pro4X as a daily (I know interesting choice lol). How reliable is the VR30DDTT in the Infiniti's?
Love to see Lori, love your reviews!
Frontier based on the 20+ videos -my CZcams âresearchâ took me from definitely getting the đź Taco to maybe the ZR2--now Iâm almost positively sold on the Frontier ( highest trim only)
I really appreciate that great input!
Great review Joe thanks! Love the new frontier, but I also like the previous design. Proven to be reliable and a good value.
The faux bead lock rims make a lot more sense for 95% of consumers. Unless you are a serious rock crawler who likes really dropping tire pressure, the true bead locks aren't worth the price of admission not to mention they require more actual maintenance making sure all those bolts are torqued to spec. Overall, I really like this new version. I've been driving Toyota since 1986, but I think I going to give the Frontier a whirl if my local dealer ever gets the trim I want. Nice thorough review.
Hi Joe I was not expecting I love the video
Letâs go been waiting for this one joe
My color preference is the navy blue one..
I wish they made it stock lifted a lil higher. But I guess it can be fixed with a lift kit.
Joe, I see you taking advantage of those grab handles to show off your guns. :) Great review, buddy. Keep doing what you do.
That was super amazing spirit.
Behold the Nissan Frontier is the American revolution of the Off-roads.
Just bought my Frontier S yesterday and love it! Came from a Silverado, just a lot more practical truck for everyday driving
Congrats! Thank you for sharing your great input!
How tall are you? Iâm 6â4, was wondering if Iâd fit in one of these
@@damon323 Iâm 6 foot and it is just right for me. So Iâd say give it a test drive and see! Itâs definitely not a full size but is spacious enough imo
I have 2016 Silverado with 32k on the ticker and had nothing but problems with the shuttering transmission and bad shifts. Iâm considering the frontier natural aspirated v6 with no AFM crap. But Iâll wait two years or so they can work the kinks out first.
@@reddhazlight1496 Oh man, thatâs too bad! Iâve seen that with Chevyâs and Dodge. Itâs ridiculous how much trucks cost these days and having those sort of problems at that low of mileage. I know a guy with a 2017 Silverado and heâs getting the whole transmission replaced at 79k miles.
Nice review, straight to the point.
I appreciate you taking the time to say that Ross.
Joe, i'm from Trinidad love your reviews and really digging this new Frontier, thanks
Wow!!!!! I Totally In Love With The Brand - New 22' Nissan Frontier Pro4X With The Nice Paint Job As Well, Also I Rather Get This Truck For Myself Soon, Also Amazing Review Joe.
I am so glad that you like this one.
Awesome looking video đ„
My man is flying. Dudes going crazy off road and on the road
Good review. Thanks for sharing this video!
You are so very welcome Johnathan!
Great as always, without Lori we wouldn't see you ! She's awesome as always great truck too I jest need the 4x2 with this front end and cloth seating if they have dark blue or metallic gray paint I'd be all in. Thanks
Lori is the best Gene! Thanks for tuning in!
Still loving my 2021 Titan Pro4x.
Great review, got mine a week ago Pro4x crew cab with luxury pkg. As it's called here in Canada. Very happy with the truck love the way it looks and drives. Got it in boulder grey color. Driving gets exciting again!
I got same, in canada BC
I love it my boy Joe keep up the work and I love the video lot real true best đ đŻđŻđŻđŻđŻđŻđŻđŻđŻ
Okay Joe, regardless of the steering wheel zonk (no telescoping option) we got the Pro 4X in "super black". Be advised folks, finding one of these is like finding a unicorn. We had to go out of state (PA to NJ). Also, the dealers are pushing serious mark ups (+5K in NJ). However, be prepared to haggle and hold your ground - we got the dealer to move off that mark up and we got more for our trade to make the deal work. Good job from Nissan in terms of balancing old and new school tech to make for a really good truck in the segment.
Thanks for sharing that great input!
Good review and the first one that I have seen where the issue of the turning radius has been shown, the same problem that the previous generation had.
Absolutely most bang for the Buck in the midsize segment.
Well done overview!
As always awesome review you guys!! As someone who is a porter for a Nissan dealership, all that gloss black trim is present on the top end Frontiers. On a standard PRO-4X and PRO-X, it's lava red and beautiful and they give you lava red stitching. But once you move up to leather they give you gloss black and take away all the beautiful lava red stitching. I thibk it's a shame honestly
I agree it's a shame. I recently traded my '19 classic ram for a pro 4x. Test drove the leather seat model, but bought the cloth model, mainly because the accents and stitching... personally never really cared for leather anyways. Ordered it with fender system, and have plans for a lift kit. No regrets selling the ram for this truck. For my needs, this truck was an upgrade in many ways (payment, insurance and fuel savings add up quick)
@@jcbizthekey I'm actually a big leather guy, I would give that up for cloth in this model. I'm also impressed by the ride of this especially for a truck. With some of the quietest ATs in the business
@@SouthernGentleman55 yea I live in the northern alberta woods. I've taken this truck places I wouldn't take my ram (alot of narrow trails around here) and been to lakes I otherwise wouldn't access in a full size. As for turning radius, no issue here for me either... ram turns worse and that's what I'm used to. This is a very capable and impressive truck, no regrets at all.
Haven't had a winter in it yet, recently purchased it, so pretty curious how it will do where I go hunting, but based on my experiences already, I'm not worried
Love your videos thanks you help me buy my gladiator
In Australia, they have a Nissan pickup called the Navara.
Nice truck but for me I don't go off road very much so for a few reasons I like the Colorado better. One of those reasons is I can get a long bed (6'+) with a crew cab. So far only Chevy, GMC, and Toyota offer that in a midsize truck. I went from a Nissan Titan king cab to a Chevy Colorado crew cab long bed and am loving it.
Because of this review, I bought a Frontier Pro-4x! :)
Cant wait til mine arrives!!
Nissan has come a long way with the Frontier. Iâd still probably go Tacoma. FourRunner for sure. Thanks Joe and Lori. Well done! đđ»đđ»đșđž
Nissan did great job on all their redesignsâŠâŠthey need toâŠâŠ.everybody seems to be stepping up their game. Lots of competition
Nice truck. Thanks Lori.
Awesome guy with awesome cars !!!
I have had F-150s all my life and now they are just getting to expensive. The Ranger is boring so after 30 years of having nothing but blue oval, the 2022 Frontier is what got me to switch brands, brought it home today.(Pro4-X ofr course). I am IN LOVE with it.
How's your pro 4x holding up??
Nismo Twinkie Tray!!! đ love how joe actually put twinkies there now âso this tray can fit about 3-4 Twinkieâsâ O.o ha
Bought a 2020 Titan for the same price as these New Frontiers, definitely think itâs best to just get a Titan. Better towing, and much more room inside for passengers.
Yeah 45k is pretty steep for a baby truck
A lot of people donât want something that big
This is the pickup that I want! I hope I can find one in Panama. Noah's Ark's interior always left something to be desired, however it was a safe ride. Thanks for the review!
Great review as always! I've been watching this one and comparing it to the Taco. Still not sure which way to go, but I'm currently leaning Frontier Pro-4x. That color is perfect!
You need to drive one for sure!
You will regret it! The Valeo alternators in new Nissans won't last half as long as Japanese alternators that still come in Toyotas. Nissan today is not same Nissan of old days.
@@hothmobile100 stop it kid
@@mrkemoymrbailey9741 stop what? I've spent 10's of thousands on multiple Nissan cars and trucks and my 2015 Nissan's alternator failed at only 50,000 miles while the Japanese alternators in my older Nissans have lasted over 150,000. I won't stop educating people. How about you start informing people the quality of the parts?
I have one on order, same color. Put it in end of October, I canât wait.
Iâm not really into small trucks cause I like the big ones but this would definitely be something Iâd buy.
Lumbar support is on the side. Just a manual lever. I've owned mine 4 months now, absolutely satisfied.
Nice review Joe! I have a 2016 Tacoma TRD that I might trade in for the PRO4X next year.
I was just thinking about getting one of these last night and started looking into one and here you are, why does this always happen.
This is a good off road mid sized truck and I like the color
May not be the best at everything but definitely one of the best looking ones.
Def the best looking in its class imo
Great review Joe. Yes I would say the frontier is much better than the Colorado. Defiantly not on par with the Tacoma but they are pretty reliable.
Not the Twinkieâsđgotta love this channel
I have the SV in the same color and LOVE IT!!
Nissan does the business with trucks!!!!
Damn nice looking truck!!
Sounds stupid but love the fact it has manual Ebrake, not the electrical with a switch. Just one of the many things I love about this truck, Nissan did a great job on this one.
That 9 speed is something else I'm impressed with those new frontiers and here I am driving my 2009 Tacoma with the 4.0 V6 which is still powerful not even a slouch its a big motor especially if you're a big ole cowboy with a heavy boot it's got plenty of power reserved. But yeah I'm kinda jealous of these new frontiers nissan dun killed it on the midsize truck lineup.
That color is niiiice
Hi Joe! Love the Nissan Fronteer but if all vehicles were perfect then they'll be boring but in a good way.
I appreciate you letting me share it with you!
Yes I love it.
After 7 new Dodge/Rams since 2007, 4 of them 2500 4x4/Cummins I traded my 2018 2500/Cummins for a Tactical green 4x4 SV with convience and tech group. I have 2750 miles on my new Datsun and it is in the shop with issues. The cloth on the front seat has separated from the seat bottom. The rep looked at it on 01/12/22 and approved a new seat. The seat has a slight rock from the play in the electric adjuster linkage. The transmission has surging issues ever since they idled it up to eliminate the rattle/harmonic vibtration in the sheet metal on the engine with 300 miles on it and something is not jiving, Idon't know maybe it is the throttle body thing communicating with the transmission that it is time to go and it means quick. And that is when a Tervis tumbler of water or whatever it has in it pours all over your center console. The dealer has had me in a rental Rouge since the rep looked at my truck and a rep from the factory has called me on 01/13 and on 01/14. As far as design flawsgo the center console has about as much use as a bread box turned on end , the cup holders will not hold anything unless it is 3 3/8 in diameter and straight sided. The bluetooth dies when you parlk and kill the ignition. If you are on an important phone call and need to finish before switching to your handset, which is not seamless at all then you must finish with the engine running. Nissan took until 2022 to invent the gas powered cell phone, I am sure the Climate Change crowd is going to love that one. The popups that remind you to increase the volume on your connected device and the one that reminds you that"your call history has been updated" are so old at 2700 miles I can't even imagine keeping this truck for that reason alone. They hang on screen for 4 to 5 seconds. I didn't enter into my blue tooth to read, I did it to make a call. Why don't any of you reviewers point out these real world consumer tips. Their is a lot to love about this truck but if you are a dyed in the wool truck buyer like me then these are far more important than the remodel they put on the gen II. I bought this as my retirement vehicle as I am 62yo and chose this truck based on my families good history with the brand. This is my first new Nissan and my first small truck in 45 years.
Loving the green
Clean looking truck, would be nice if it had a tighter turning circle âïž.
Digging the color đ đ
There is a lower back lumbar adjustment bar on the right side of the drivers seat, just gotta reach!
I appreciate that info.
Good morning Joe and Lori (and the iconic special place) how are y'al, that is a beautiful truck (and color).
Edit: Ehat is your favorite thing in Christmas or your favorite Christmas movie
When has turning radius ever been an issue while driving in the mountains?
Great review. Great truck. Billsteins, yes!
Nissan makes the best vehicles and no one can match it.

Hey Joe! If you had to choose between the Nissan Frontier Pro4x or Toyota Tacoma Trd off road which one would you buy?
I think in the ned I am going reliability and resale of the Tacoma.
Awesome truck. can't wait to get one. Also, can't wait to see Lori do a review of her favorite car/truck.
If you're looking for a Frontier, I can assist you. Sales Consultant at a Nissan Dealership
I really wanted one until I saw the Ranger reveal. Can't wait til Joe reviews it...
Lots of to Lori Iâm going to buy the pro 4x non turbo that was the thing that changed my mind
what a Truck đ man v6 310 horse power I wish nissan bring it to Saudi the last great picup we had is the D22 and I own one since 2015 nissan pickup is strong Truck đ but I would like a 6 speed manual transmission
why was the light blinking so much in the gauges? is that normal for all of them?
Around 44k MSRP, plus 5-10k market adjustment pricing for Florida. Far as Iâve seen anyway out of dealers in the state.
Amazing truck
I currently have a F1-50 but definitely gonna be going Nissan Frontier PRO4x.
This is definitely the mid size truck to beat out of the factory to date. The most well rounded vehicles our family has ever owned! Hands down! Beats when I had a Tacoma too!
Check your laces youâre trippin
Ha you're funny bud Nissan is garbage i had 2 before my colorado and would not go back. Oh and Nissan ranks in the bottom of every category for trucks while Chevy and Toyota continue to dominate the market and quality that you get from their trucks.
@mattprost528 hahaha got news for you smart guy, that same motor has been out for 4 year's now an not single one has blown. Hey if you wanna sport Nissan go for it just remember they have shit for resale ,shit transmissions, hell realistically the whole truck is trash really . Oh an that's after owning 2 of them dumb ass along with other's i know with Nissan's.
It looks great, do you think it can fit in a regular sized two car garage?
Of course it can!
How does this compare to the tremor ranger and the tacoma?
Great review, one Zonk is no telescoping steering wheel. is this true Joe?
Who cares, you set it once and leave it anyway. My steering wheel is fine in mine
Seats đș look awesome đ đ
Very beautiful truck, nice paint job too I'd have it over the ZR2..BUT I'D GIVE TACOMA TRD PRO THE EDGE
I can totally understand where you are coming from!
Wow you must be high ASF cause no way this Nissan could compete with the ZR2 or even the Z71. It tows less, less payload capability to the Z71 and definitely would not be able to do what either colorado could do off road and the interior in inferior to the colorados.
Your not getting the point..its a free world an its MY CHOICE ....i care zero about what chevy offers in the midsize segment...TRD PRO ALL THE WAY BRO.......
Think I going with the ZedR2 BISON EDITION as of this viewing, however, I will be test driving the new 2022 next week.
That sounds like a great plan!
