I was on the tacomaworld forum today checking out windshield nozzle issues- one guy had the exact same issue as you, and a guy replied to his problem saying:
"There is no adjustment for the nozzle however, there is three nozzle part numbers. A 0°, a + 1° and a -1°. all three are non-adjustables" That might be something to pursue.
Another had the same problem because his hood was warped from the factory, and had to have a body shop fix it. Said that if you look at the hood, sitting in the drivers seat, and the corners of the hood are slightly depresses, and not flush with the body, you may have this issue.... Anyway, food for thought...
Hope Jeff sees this 👍
Tacomaworld has all the answers, great forum.
I did a quick search and for a 2023 Tacoma 6 cylinder TRD Offroad -
Washer Nozzle 85381-30220 is 0 degree,
Washer Nozzle 85381-30230 is -2 degrees,
and Washer Nozzle 85381-30240 is +2 degrees.
It would be interesting to see what the current installed part number is.... I couldn't see the part number on the invoice you showed on your previous video.
Actually you can adjust them. Use a tooth pick. Put a toothpick in the hole and you can move it where ever you want. Insert tooth pick where the water sprays out and it will rotate and move to where you want it. You could also use a paper clip. I’m surprised the dealer had no idea how to adjust the spray.
Nice.
not all nozzles are adjustable. not sure if these tacomas are one of them
Assistant Service Manager for Toyota here! I can also say that my experience is the same - in the past couple months we have only seen one of about 20 that was affected by the loose nut. Tightened it up and good to go. It affects very few vehicles in my experience
Called it. Glad you mentioned the new hood .
Wow, this has been on going problem ,glad recall was good!
2018 4Runner TRD Off Road. Always loved the 5th gen 4Runners.
2018 4Runner TRD Off Road checkin in 🙌🏻 104,000 miles and not a single issue! She’s not goin anywhere anytime soon ❤️
I have a ‘23 TRD Off-road. Got the recall resolved the other day. My truck had no loose bolts. That sprayer nozzle issue is ridiculous dude. Really nice truck, though!
thnaks, you know 1st hand :) congrats on yours as well
I have that same reaction everytime I walk by my truck or get in to drive. I have a '21 Toyota Tundra Platinum. Recently had it lifted/leveled and put new tires and wheels on it. Man is it sexy. looking to add a new CAI and eventually TRD dual exhaust so she can breath.
Mark the sprayer that only you would know it was marked and document it
thanks I plan to
I just said the same thing.
I’m a Chevy guy. I drove a 2013 z71 Tahoe for years that I absolutely loved. I just traded it in for a Silverado that fits my needs better but doesn’t have the same place in my heart.
That's why I have 3 Silverados and haven't sold them lol
I want a silverado from that generation, those are real work trucks. Quality too
2021 trd pro tundra owner and love it
Those wheels are awesome I’ve always liked them, but mine was a lower grade model and did not look near as nice as that!
You didn’t turn and smile while walking away from your g body or your k10 Chevy ?
Support you❤💪💪💪
Fan from HongKong
Never get rid of stock wheels especially those, whatever you get would be garbage quality comparatively unless you pay like $8k. You cant beat stock alloys quality, wheels are like a cheap pep boys add on these days, its not like the 90's.
And the forerunner guys will pay a premium for those wheels cause they look so good on their old trucks
100% agree-they look great as well.
I didnt have the nut issue, I did have an my rear shock leaking at 24k. I don't take it off road or drive it hard, so idk what happened
Hey pal ! Been following you for a decade I think but don’t comment much. I bought a 23’ OR Taco just about the same time as you, mines Blue Crush. I don’t care for the color much. It looks purple in certain lighting, Ugg 🤣, but I got a hell of a deal on it, used w/ 8000 miles. Takin it in for the recall tomorrow. I LOVE this truck too man, I guess we all bought em for the same reason: hopefully we go 20 years & don’t have to shop for another truck. I’ll check back in 2044 with ya on that 🤣🙏🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
😎👊
I guess you hit the jackpot of issues Jeff.
Ive got a 2017 tacoma same color as yours and when i see i still thinks it looks good. I know a lot of people who love the look of the 3rd gen tacomas too.
i’ve had an 04 Tacoma since it was brand new. i’ll drive that thing til i die. frames rusted to hell. needs a ton of work. haven’t changed the oil in 10,000 miles. engine lights been on for nearly a decade for o2 sensors and evap codes. she runs like a champ.
Maybe do some basic maintenance and it will continue to?
Take care of your shit dude 😂
I wish someone could just 3D print a new windshield washer nozzle/bracket that mounts slightly lower, so it would properly spray on your windshield👍
Just put a spacer so the sprinkler stay a little prouder (further away from the hole, closer to the windshield).
the problem with a spacer is it can and eventually will fall off with the vibrations of driving and possible fall into the engine bay causing a problem ort damage
@@cutlerylover You can use a thick rubber/plastic washer, same diameter as the hole.
Why not clip out a section of the “louvre” that the spray stream is contacting with a snips? 🤗❓
I have a 11 Tundra and a 2012 Taco. And they have both been absolute workhorses on the farm. GREAT trucks. 300k? NO problem. 👍🏻
that part is the hood itself lol so no ones is going to cut out a chunk of a hood...
if you get a new hood, is the paint still going to match when the rest of the vehicle has had time to fade a bit? its a new vehicle so that seems silly to think about, but the idea of a whole new hood over a 99 cent plastic piece is crazy to me. is anybody at Toyota paying attention to whats going on at their dealerships?
I doubt it would get to that but it is what it is, if the color didnt match I would have them paint the whole truck lol...OR I would deal with the sprayer not working I suppose, maybe they would give me a new 2024 instead LMAO I have no idea where this rabbit hole leads to be honest the washer sprayer not working right can be considered a dangerous situation since it makes it hard to see out the window BUT it would be worse if it was the drivers side...
@@cutlerylover eh you never know, they might total it and give you the keys to a 2024 Land Cruiser!
The sprayer may be messed up. But at least you don't have to start this one with a back scratcher.
thats true, the old one had chunks fall off when I closed the door, lo
Perhaps you could epoxy the spraying hole closed and drill a new hole at the proper angle !!!!
although may may work on some level it wouodnt be the same as trhe dfriver side which woudl still be annoying lol
The fact that a bad WW sprayer keeps stumping your dealership service guys is kind of concerning.
Losing an axel while driving wouldn’t be dangerous, just for your own piece of mind. You would just lose power to that specific wheel which would be annoying but not dangerous and definitely not potentially fatal
a sudden decrease in speed like heavy braking and ability to accelerate can easily cause an accident and if a semi is behind you is may be fatal
It would be as though your engine lost all power. So it’s the same amount of danger as if your engine were to shut completely off. Anything can be stretched to risk of death on the road because the road is a dangerous place. You’d be able to just coast off the road. And I believe your truck has the rear differential locker, so if you engaged that you be able to just drive it to the shop, although it’s not really recommended to drive on asphalt with the diff locked even with one wheel working
There are other failures like brake, ball joints, other front end components that will actually cause you to lose control of the vehicle. A loss of power is about as safe of a mechanical failure as it gets
@@TheOVprodigy I know I wouldn't want it to happen when im driving, lol, sure a tire blowout can be way worse but what if you are on the highway in traffic like a merge now I can get off the highway with other vehicles coming my way, I cant easily get out and off the highway to a safe area...you can make the argument no failure is fatal or the argument than any failure you can live though it heavily depends on your situation when it happens...
@@cutlerylover very true, I was just trying to ease your mind a bit in case you were under the impression that it would definitely be catastrophic
My money is on the hood being the problem
I would not get a new hood, because with your luck the paint probably will not be a perfect match.
agreed. His color is hard to match. I see lots of cars/ trucks close to that color that have been repaired and painted by body shop and you can clearly see the color is different.
Recalls are more and more as time goes on....vehicles are more expensive and made worse...we are headed in the wrong direction!
you have got money issues and you are driving around in a 35k car? why bro? you could sell that and buy a used car for 2 or 3 k from the 90's/early 2000's that if you take care of it will last you the rest of your life my god that is crazy
That works for some people sure. On the other hand and I'm not really talking about him just having money doesn't automatically solve anything. If you sell your new car for let's say 35k and buy a used car for 3k you will still have to maintain it and it will be more costly than a new one. When you do run out of money at that point you are having money issues and drive around in a used car.
If he's able to keep this on the road with the current income it's really not that crazy.
And it's not like this truck is even his to sell. He could sell it back to the dealer I guess.
He actually addressed this very same comment he has gotten in a lot of other videos, in a video not too long ago.
maybe watch more of his videos, particularly the one explaining this exact thing, before casting judgement. smh
actually this is a $49k truck and no it doesn't make a difference in my bills if I was short my truck payment and thats all that was needed than sure Id sell it and drive something cheaper but thats not the problem...if I have to sell it to help one day I will but I dont have to right now...
