I met RGV in his office COMPANY 6 years back. In real life he is still sharp and intelligent when you talk to him. But in work front he has surrounded himself with Yes Men, that's how he choose team not based on talent but who will do most buttering and come cheap. He can't digest even minor criticism. You criticize, you are out. He will choose scripts where he has to do minimum hard work. Every evening is vodka time. His time is gone which he wants to regain without hard work, without any sacrifice. I am still a fan of old RGV.
Even Anurag Kashyap is on the same path... RGV has given hits with faces and offbeat storylines like which no one ever imagined.
But I think Anurag Kashyap will comeback

Directors only have 1-2 best works in theirs filmography. But RGV has 8-9 or even more than that. I don't think he doesn't need to prove himself anymore. He is just living his life which he always dreamt of
RGV is more than 60 years old, we don't need to expect any good films from him. He has given good films in the past. Now he is living life for himself , And his present personality is inspiration for so many people. RGV is the only person in India who has freedom 🙌. He can do whatever he wants.
Mani Ratnam is 67 and Priyadarshan is 66, but still they are giving good films in their respective film industries. Malayalam industry has a director named Joshiy who is 70+ but still working great. Age does not matter, skill does.

Back in those days struggling actors with no good looks but decent acting skills would line up outside RGV's office as they knew they had no scope elsewhere. Many of them r popular actors today & have revealed this in interviews.

My respect for RGV as a visionary director has increased tremendously. Among the thousands of Indian films, Satya towers above the rest like a giant.
His eccentric behavior maybe due to some other personal issue or choice.
Maybe he just doesn't care about people's opinions anymore, but for his genius and his monumental work, he deserves our respect.
His movies were sooooooooo good. A twist in bollywood in 90s and early 2000s. Satya is my fav. Siva was also good. Raat 🤌🏼❤

You won't believe I just watched Company last night AGAIN after some so many years. And he's movies
RGV's COMPANY (2002) is one of the best gangster films ever made. Such great cinematography, editing, locations and screenplay. Nishabd (2007) is also a great movie starring Amitabh Bachchan. Also, another of his greatest films is Not A Love Story (2011), it was such a powerful film, my jaw dropped. I see many people not talking about this movies while mentioning RGV's works. It was his last great work back in 2011.
