Bobby Deol had different problem. He was expressionless, used to stand like a log. That with his chiselled face helped him to portray roles like soldier and bichhoo. But when he tried his hands in comedy movies, he used to act loudly. Now he is acting in roles where his expressionless battle hardened looks matter, so he is winning now.

Govinda never faced rejection. He himself rejected many good movies and said 'no' to many big filmmakers like Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, etc. He always preferred to work only with David Dhawan in his silly comedy movies, which were hits in 90s but most of them now look outdated. Thus, he limited himself only to David Dhawan, and when David Dhawan moved on from him, Govinda became workless. He is a great versatile actor, but he himself is responsible for the decline of his career. He should have been professional and punctual. He should have done more versatile roles, instead of restricting himself to just comedy. He got stereotyped as a comedian. Just take the example of Akshay Kumar. He also did many comedy movies with Priyadarshan, but he is more professional and he did all kinds of movies, not only comedy. He doesn't get stereotyped and he still gets all kinds of movies.
Bobby Deol will never come close to Govinda's success. NEVER.

The difference with AB is he was bankrupt and he was in debt, there is nothing suggesting that Govinda is in debt as I believe he has businesses. So AB needed to agree what is relevant for him and the late Yash Chopra helped him out.

I am 39. I followed and like Govinda ever since I was 5 that is even before he started giving hits with David Dhavan. If you look at his movies and interviews in last 10 years we can see that he is stuck in the past. He is not ready to accept that his time and career is over. His last movie Aa Gaya Hero was prime example of him being stuck in the past.
He provided us such a great films only if he had some patience and discipline then we won't lose a great actor.

Some can make fun of Govinda ji, but he was someone who lived in poverty and bounced back as a real hero. Salute!!
finally someone noticed why govinda lost his own empire in Bollywood.
The only complaint that holds merit was his unpunctuality and tardiness. But you have to remember he came from an era when almost every hero walked into sets very late because they were working shifts and having stage shows etc.Filming began at 11 am in the morning.. Noone complained much and he was portrayed as the hardest working actor on the planet in the nineties. The complaints started coming once his films started flopping in the 2000s..
Even then being late shouldn't be reason to ostracize him, in an industry where murderers, drug addicts, riot inciters, deer hunters and abusers are given second and third chances.
His biggest mistake though was his contesting Lok Sabha in 2004 and unseating Ram Naik from his 24 year old stronghold in Virar.. That brought the wrath of BJP also upon him on top of Bolly Cliques who hated him...They did everything to get back at him like getting his releases sabatoged to sending people to heckle him on sets and getting it filmed.. You just need to check out the ridiculous amount of web articles written about him between 2005-2011 always bodyshaming him and tarnishing his image as a star and MP.
Every star faces ups and downs in their career, but it was the bollycamps and political rivals that made sure that he stayed down after his fall...
David Dhawan jumping camp and shifting loyalties was no coincidence.. Dhawan even refused to give him a supporting role in Chasme badoor and cast Rishi Kapoor instead. He's offered nothing more than cameos, because they are afraid that if he's given a meaty role even if it's a supporting role, he will bounce back into the limelight.

Govinda is a rare talent and I can’t understand how no one is signing him for projects, with all the OTT work available now.
Mistakes of Govinda according to me:
1) His wife is his manager and she takes creatives decisions.
2) unprofessional- he was late to sets and he did not update himself according to time change like how AB did.
3) Govinda thinks he is a superstar so whatever he does , nobody will mind. Even SRK , being A list actor in India still respects his team and director. He knows the market and is humble to learn. The reason why AB & SRK , Kangana, PC, Rajkumar , Dilip Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann and few more are such big stars, they leave their stardom outside the sets . Any person who stays humble and respects his team and their effort with strong heart will survive this industry. Entitled behaviour in media , will always pull you down.
4) Govinda needs a reality check and keep his personal & professional life different. Look at how Sunny Deol or bobby deol are working hard. Govinda needs to get his confidence back. If not for krushna (his nephew) I don’t think anybody born after 2000 will know who Govinda was and he is angry with that same nephew who doesnot take a bad word against his uncle.
5) Govinda can still comeback like in 90s but in new look. He did well in kill dill . He should take control of his life not anybody else. I don’t think politics was a bad move. He has to secure his and his families life. He and AB has seen the very basic of life so them joining politics is just to secure finance. That’s understood.
I believe Kangana is also taking the same route as Govinda. Back to back unsuccessful films, superiority complex, always trying to choose rebel characters that only focuses on self. Films which have no room for supporting actors to shine, also accused of cutting scenes of costars during Manikarnika, accused of taking undue credits during Simran. Unnecessarily targeting the whole industry for her failures.She's Govinda 2.0
