Usually you have to use an external capture card such as the Elgato CamLink to capture the HDMI signal of the Sony Alpha A6500. But with this method you don't need to buy an Elgato CamLink Capturecard. Simply connect your Sony Alpha Camera via USB to your computer and start the Sony Imaging Edge Application to remote control your Sony A6500 and other cameras.
The remote application will show you a Preview of the Sony Alpha Camera that is connected via the USB connection to your computer.
With this easy method you can use any Sony camera as a USB Webcam.
This process works on most SONY Alpha cameras. A complete list can be found here: imagingedge.sony.net/de/ie-de...
Easy use your Sony Camera as a USB Webcam for Zoom, Microsoft Team, Skype, Discord.

@@GreenBoxMedia Thanks for help, now i have like a new webcam.
yes sir
This was very helpful. Thanks. I watched till the end ha, ha. GOtta say i like the 60 seconds format. I watched 3 more videos before yours which made me waste 10 min each to get the same information which you gave me in 1 minute, so I subscribed, liked and commented as you asked. Good luck!
Thanks a lot for letting me know! ✌️
This has to be one of the most useful, straight to the point video I've seen here. Great job Greeny.
Not Supported for Sony A6000 , only A6300 and above. Thank me later
Unfortunately yes, however in my latest video I discuss an inexpensive alternative which also works with the 6000
@@GreenBoxMedia thank youuu

does it work for the sony a6100?
Thank you for getting to the point straight-away and then being more casual, I like your style.
I appreciate that!
I love how brief and straight to the point you are.
Thanks a lot! I hate when you have to wait through 12 stories before I get the healthy portion of knowledge I need

Great video - thanks! I love how concise your tutorial is. You don’t waste time, but rather just get into the steps right away.
Glad you liked it! :)
Brilliant! Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
I especially appreciate the "all business" attitude where you just get right to it and knock it out without a lot of messing around.
Glad it was helpful!
You're Awesome, man...Thank you
Happy to help ✌️

While I wasn't looking for this, it's great to know! Thanks for the video😁
Happy to help! And much luck finding what you were looking for!
I don't even own a Sony camera & I still watched to the end...
Men, THAT'S the spirit!
Me too
i dont even have a camera at all, and i watched it, is really interesting how to do it without a camlink!!!
GreenBox LoL
GreenBox but doesn’t it reduce the qty cuz the capture card has its own power right !!!
Thank you. I've had my Sony A6100 for a little over a month now and this was the ultimate basic set up guide out there. I haven't had a "real" camera in over 25 years and a lot has changed. While I did a bit of research on this b4 I bought it (Pro: excellent for non-professional photographer, Con: Menu is way too long and complicated) this guide will finally get me on the right track. I've already taken wonderful photos, but wanted to know how to get a bit more out of it (Manual mode). So I'll be referring back to this video several times, as well as the other videos you put up links to during the video. Thanks again for the well presented, non-confusing and easy to follow guide you've put together here. And yes, you are definetly worth the sub and alert icon!
I will probably not watch any other of your videos but the sheer efficiency you have with giving information has earned a sub
Fair enough. But you might want to watch the next one because its related to this very video ;)
@@GreenBoxMedia funny enough I did and had a laugh because I ate my words in that short amount of time.

I appreciate that!
Thank you for giving a fast and comprehensive presentation. Awesome, dude.
My pleasure!
Thank you for making it concise and getting to the point!! So appreciated not having to wade though someones blabbering on and on about nothing to do with why we came there..I'm now a subscriber

hell yeah, that's what I wanted man thanks for the awesome trick although it was so simple but I couldn't figure that out until I watched your video so thanks again.
Glad I could help!
Great that you got straight into it! 👌🏼 For CZcams livestream, will it work? Will audio play from camera also?
OK, three years late but I just got here and this has been an enormous help - thank you so much!
Very well done. Thank you for this video! You did a wonderful job.
Thank you very much!
@@GreenBoxMedia any lag issues ?
Wonderful explanation. Can we conject Sony cam via USB and use it as a webcam to do Live Streaming via Ecamm Live? Please help. Subscribed.
For that i recommend a HDMI capture device.
I am the 8% club member and extremely grateful for stopping me from buying a webcam!
I hope you have a wonderful day and a highly successful channel! 💪🏽
Welcome to the club! 👐
Precise, Informational, to-the-point video. Good job.
Take my like just for the intro )))
Thanks :)
Keep in mind the remote view frame rate is low regardless of camera settings. So if you want 60fps you NEED a capture card, but just for webcam this works perfect. For me latency is about the same as my HD60S.
Exactly. But in case you can't get an capture card at the current times this is a nice method to bridge the time.
Amazing video dude, thanks! Straightforward, quick but thorough and even some humor...love it!
Thanks! You're welcome! ✌️
This was a really really helpful video, I was just planning to buy a laptop and that one doesn't have a webcam, now I don't need to worry about that at all. Thanks a lot to you and keep bringing such awesome content man!
To make things a bit more easy I would suggest you get a cheap capture card (as seen in my latest video). so you don't waste cpu resources on OBS and Imaging Edge.
Hi , I've connected with usb cable and click live view and I could not get cam's view .Just white screen in remote app
Same... i think we need the original usb cable.. i think..
have u been able to fix it? mine does the dame thing and i have the original cable :/

Awesome tip!! Thanks man!! 8% here!! 🚀 Now I don’t need to buy a CamLink!! 🔔New Sub!🔔
Thanks for the sub! Well I would still get the camlink once its cheaper because the quality IS better using a HDMI capture.
This is like the biggest benefit from this video. It's saved alot of people alot of money. As well I don't need a dummy battery yay.
@@kylerodger2558 You can also use USB to charge when using HDMI captures. Just saying ;)
I can't tell you how much I appreciate that fact that you elided the obligatory two minute introduction discussing why viewers are here. 10 Points.
Hahaha. Yeah. I mean I do that too but not in Videos in which viewers NEEEEED answers! :D
Straight to the point and dont need a 10min video to explain. Like the video
Yeh unfortunately I also can't set a Mid-roll ad like this. hahah!
Saw your "Don't click this link" - so I didn't. Am I in the 1%? LOL
If you did you would probably be in the 2% :) but now you might be in the 20%
Loved the way you did this video, no fluff at the beginning!
That's what quick tips are about ✌️
This tut was surprisingly well explained AND short!
Key is in shortness haha. Thanks!
I was searching for this and clicked on another tutorial, and skipped the first minute because it was all "like and subscribe" and then accidentally skipped to the next video (this one) and I'm so unbelievably surprised and happy that there are still people out there doing youtube for the content and not just to stretch the video to 10 minutes to get the max add revenue. Thank you so much for it

After some time trying I finally found this tube, and what a find so informative, after two days of trying to use some of my cameras without success as a webcam you hit the nail on the head in fifty six seconds, brilliant, and at no cost.
