    Hey Brian, are you leaving a small stub of the craft fur butts to act as a prop, or cutting off as much as possible?......Thanks for sharing, I love this tie!

      I will always leave a little bit of the ends to act like a speed bump.

    Excellent tutorial! Love you channel!
    What size eyes did you use here? Smallest I could find in the "mad eyes" is 12mm......Those look smaller than 12mm

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  Před 4 lety

      The mad eyes are actually 9mm at the small point to 12mm at the biggest.....so these are those 1wmm eyes. I REALLY wish he would make some of these smaller!!

    Question: why is it important that a fly "push alot of water" ?? Gunnar mentions this Alot!

    • @flyfishingtheozarks
      @flyfishingtheozarks  Před 4 lety +3

      Hey Tim, when we talk about "pushing water" what we are really talking about is the amount of friction the head causes against the oncoming water. It does a couple of different things, depending on what the head is made out of.....the biggest of those things (in my mind) is the amount of "stall" that a "pushy" head will create. When a regular slim fly with a skinny head is stripped, it will generally keep moving with not a lot of "stall", when you have a deer hair head for example, it will slow the fly down quickly causing the fly the "break" at the articulation point...creating the swim that is synonymous with flies that "push water." Now, this isn't a perfect explanation because there are other ways to push water---but that is probably the best start to the conversation.
