Well done, friendly to tie, like the combination of a BTD and a bulkhead with synthetics, on patterns that takes so many materials, techniques, skills and time, why not to chose a tube tie 🤔, and no worries about busting the hook point on my first back cast over a shell 😩
Again great skills and awesome channel.
Thank you for sharing!!

Thanks! You can ABSOLUTELY tie this pattern on a tube. You will lose a little of the "kick" that you will get with it keeling on a standard hook, but if you are only swinging it--you probably won't notice that anyway.
Great quick and easy tie vids
Nice work. I dig how you substitute materials and improvise when needed. I have to stop myself from going to the shop every time I see a new video. Most materials are similar and interchangeable. If you were going to scale this dude down to a size 04, what changes do you think you would make? Craft fur and stick with the EP? Keep up the good work and thanks for representing the Ozarks. Cheers from Missoula, MT.... (Arkansas transplant)
South Arkansas here! I've made a few of these, and I think you hit the nail on the head. IMO the main difference between craft fur and Squimpish hair is the length .
The action of this fly is amazing! Although Gunnar sell the Chosen One packs I found the materials separately for more color combinations. Absolutely a great fly pattern.
You should really watch Gunnar’s videoa on thread control, its in 3 separate vids.
Nicely done! Would it be possible for you to tell me the name of the song playing over your fly tying
Checkout "Downtempo" genre songs they are all really similar.
That is sweet!
Awesome tie have you fished it around here? Stay safe.
Love it, still think a set of eyes would make it pop even more, although I'm sure the fish don't care
I LOVE eyes....but Chad doesn't put eyes on this patter, so I reluctantly left them off.
Three months later annnnnnd I still think you meant to say Gunnar. Not chad ☺️.
Brian I’m surprised you didn’t wear a mask or a full body suit on this one for the self quarantine. Btw great video and great fly. I may get the stuff to tie some if I get off the nymph kick I’m still on
Next time!
What is the wing material on the more olive green version of this fly in the intro? It looks like you subbed the peacock herl for something that matched the olive green color.
That is ostrich herl! Super cool!
Have you found that this fly fishes the same way with the EP fiber substitution?
It would be close, but you would have to make sure you manually taper the fibers.
