      I'm trying to play the first tune with only a short f! can it be done ? i suppose i;d have to fudge it here and there

      You should be able to, perhaps you'll have to take it a bit slower.. The two f keys are handy alright.

      irishmusicacademy Oh yes. I was there in 81 and I was there 2013 and hopefully this year as well. This set of tunes still have the magic for me. Thank you.

    And last, but not least, the second tune (at 2:10) is one of many called Paddy Fahy's. And this is one of many settings. The dots and ABC for a similar setting can be found on Henrik Norbeck's site.

    I love the first one but it drives me crazy because I heard some versions with F sharps and F naturals in the second part, some at different places than others, which might clash if these different versions are played together. From memory I've got Tim Collin's Dancing on Silver, Claire Keville's first CD and that Gort Eb session recording.

    I agree though... dots and or abc would be better still. Just names can be confusing. I like to play along but am not a musician. Had both ears amputated by early experiences with classical music so life is too short now to build up my aural expertise!
