WHAT A LINE-UP!
We’ve finally got our hands on the McLaren 750 S, and it’s facing off against a bunch of incredible supercars - the Ferrari 296 GTB, Lamborghini Huracan Performante, and Porsche 911 Turbo S!
So let’s see how these magnificent machines compare. Starting with the McLaren, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8. This delivers 750hp and 800Nm to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it weighs in at just 1,389kg.
Alongside it, we have the Ferrari. It’s packing a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 along with an electric motor, and these combine to put down 830hp and 740Nm of torque. This is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,470kg.
Next up it’s the Lambo, which houses a huge 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that produces 640hp and 600Nm. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it’s the lightest car here, weighing in at 1,382kg.
Then finally we have the Porsche. It’s powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six that puts down 650hp and 800Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it’s the heaviest car here, coming in at 1,640kg.
So will the ever-reliable Porsche snatch another win? Or could another contender grab it? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

Well the 812 superfast replacement has arrived and it doesn't look as lethal as i'd thought it would. Same hp as the 812 competizione and less torque at 500 lb ft.

The turbo in the Ferrari is not the 2.9-liter V6 that Ferrari developed for the Quadrifoglio models from Alfa Romeo, among others. It has a different bank angle (120 instead of 90 degrees) and a larger bore (88 instead of 86.5 millimetres), which increases the displacement from 2,891 to 2,992 cubic centimetres.
I feel like you may be looking for more intelligent logic than Mat will have thought of: I'd say there's a 99.9% chance the name 296 made him think the engine was 2.96L 🤣
Fun Fact:296’s engine is nearly same as the 499p’s internal combustion engine

Apart from the exhaust, when you sit into one the sound coming from induction and turbos of 296 in stock exhaust is just mindblowing for a v6.

It won't arrive any time soon. By the time that hybrid arrives, we are looking at an SF90 replacement, and possibly 296 replacement.

It is definitely more of a track car, yes. But also its from 2015-something. A bit old for this lineup. It did amazingly well hanging onto the more modern cars.
Would LOVE to see a Ferrari generations test: 348 vs 355 vs 360 vs 430 vs 458 vs 488 vs F8 vs 296. And thanks for the videos! Love them and the entire crew!

What Ferrari did to the 296 is lovely! It's the "entry/mid" level Ferrari, hybrid, but keeps a nice sound, fast asf, amazing!
Ferrari finally made a subtle killer beast with that "mid entry level" 296gtb, wonderful car in every aspect, for the people talking about "porsche would do better in track" well it seems people forgot that Ferrari won the 24h of Nürburgring last year with the 296gt3 and also won LeMans with a variant of that same engine, apparently Ferrari achieved to make a great and reliable V6 engine that still sounds good and it's mad fast...
That’s true, Ferrari made a very capable und beautiful beast of a car. The Porsche is slower, but in honorable mentions that the Porsche turbo is still more an gran touring car than track or racing car. But the Ferrari is in very aspect faster.
Anyway in the normal world in both cars you would be anyways way overpowered in very normal world condition😄 and it not really matter and you are in any of both 99% the fastest on the street.

bro 296 it’s a hybrid… The 750s is faster with no electric assistance. Which is insane. 296 is even slower than the Mclaren Hybrid Artura. Ferrari is not what it once used to be. Their cars are heavy and slow.

@@Iracingnoob It has so much downforce that it has been posting better 1/4 mile times than the 720S! The downforce shows its effect at a higher speed and by the time the drag race is almost over.
Edit: Carwow raced an Artura against the turbo s and Performante and it lost the drag race, lost two rolling races. Watch it. 296 will breeze past the Artura easily.

This was one of the best drag racing videos ever. Can’t believe the second race was so different from the first. Wow.
That Ferrari with a tiny v6 engine is an absolute fucking masterpiece.
I find it crazy how the porsche weight the most amongst all of them but it doesn’t look like it lol
If we stop the italien dry weight bullshiterry and add all the stuff you need to actually drive the car like fluids and a driver both the Lambo and the Farrari weigh about the same as the Porsche. The Mclaren lacks the AWD system and "luxury interior" of the 911.
The 296 gtb weighs 1600+kg, and the Performante weighs just under 1600kg.
@@DonLee1980 True - the 296, weighs in at around 1669 kilos.. but 819hp - so weight to hp ratio is 10% better than the Porsche... It would need around 725hp to match the 296 evenly
@@kennethfich5225 There's much more to it than just power to weight. Traction and efficiency are also important, as there would be no way that the Performante would lose to the Porsche given the same power and less weight. The Porsche has something closer to 700hp and the Porsche has the best gearbox here with the most gears and better gear ratios for acceleration. It has a great torque and power curve, but the 296 has less drivetrain losses, has much more power, probably somewhere closer to 900hp, as it even walks the Mclaren 765lt despite weighing like 250+kg more. Ferrari have done a great job at calibrating the traction of that car, along with the cup 2R tires to get great traction despite being only RWD.

Honestly, the Lamborghini is pretty impressive. No turbos, good ol' NA power and the oldest by a country mile yet in the drag keeps up with the latest and greatest. What a beast😊

Ferrari 296 is my pick of the bunch. What a beauty😍🔥
The Huracan definitely kept up pretty well. It's instant response from it being naturally aspirated and it's great launching ability thanks to its AWD system, definitely gave it an edge at times but due to lack of power and torque it just falls short from the other three cars. I'm interested to see what Lamborghini is going come out with to compete with the newer supercars from their rivals.
It’s really not often a car like a Huracan Performante gets dropped like it did in this video. The Ferrari and McLaren are serious beasts, and the 911 Turbo put in its usual work.
Its also the oldest car of them all and they carry more power than the performante. Not surprised at all. The 296 has to be compared to the newest v6 from lamb
Huracan clutch bangs so hard in first gear it explodes off the line initially, like someone threw it, but then spends a lot of time getting itself stable before pulling again. Porsche PDK revs the engine insanely high (over 6k) and can take hundreds of launches all day, so it is a rocket ship off the line. The PDK is insane
Like always, I'm very amazed with the performance of the Porsche with just 650hp it never disappoints.

This is one of the best drag race I have ever watched
What surprises me the most is the absolute mechanical masterpiece that Porsche has engineered. To get the initial jump on the launches, every time it does, is remarkable. To add the cherry on top, it isn't getting hammered in the rolling races and almost breezes past that Lambo. And then nailing the brake tests every time too; just insane.
From seeing other test drivers, driving the Porsche and saying that people need to give other cars a chance before driving one of those, I'm seriously unsurprised!😮

The awd system and 800Nm of torque is the reason why the Porsche gets the initial jump on the launches. In the rolling races, it literally got hammered by the two rwd cars. And then in the brake tests, it doesn't win all the time, at least considering all brake tests on this channel.

@@danmel3978 The Turbo S didn't stand a chance with the top two even with AWD. The 296 GTB and the 750s could have accomplished the same in 10.2 or even quicker, it just depends on the conditions.
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.
Spoon Civic with engine swap to 600bhp can also beaten this 296GTB.

As ever the times are down to road surface and weather conditions. The Ferrari and McLaren will do 9's in the same sort of conditions the Turbo S does 10.1.

As ever the timings on the day are down to road condition and weather. All cars underperformed on the day by about the same margin. The Turbo S for instance has done 10.1's.

The sport mode roll race should be modified so that each car is in its own optimal powerband because the number of gears differs. It'll show the true potential of each car
