The tiltrotator was invented by the Swedish company Rototilt in the 1980s. For the last 20 years almost every single machine over here run rotators. It is simply brilliant and very dependable. Im sure you will have a great time using it once you get the hang of it!

Could not agree with you more. I use to ski with my kids, but as age and artificial knees have slowed me downa lot, I snowmobile more often and my kids have not bought sleds yet, not sure if they will too considering the cost and bad winters (lack of snow) over here in the Northeast/ New England. BUT we still pull out the ole runner sleds when we have icy terrain and race each other downhill. Those days I wish I was 30 years younger....

We have one on our 9k pound machine and or 40k pound and on the bigger one we are constantly fighting leaks with the quick attach. And don’t get the compactor for the big one they blow out the seals all the time.

I live in North Bay, we sold our 245 with a rototilt and it was ok, but mulching with a rototilt is hard on it, just violent, i love you can uncouple the rotator now. Your in Muskoka area and your basically in all rock most of the time so that function of removing it is great. We run a 336E with a big bucket, just a beat on machine.. and a 330 Nex Gen with a progressive link thumb and FAE mulcher; and then a 323 Nex Gen same thing just regular thumb, smaller mulcher.. and our 313 Nex Gen has the rototilt on it, fixed.. with a ditching bucket and its just a touch up machine we dont do much digging id like a trench bucket for it because the 48 inch ditvh bucket is abit big for trenches lol.. love ur content

A tiltrotator pays for itself within a year or two in fuel and time savings alone, not to mention wear and tear of the undercarriage since you don't need to constantly track around to reposition the machine, the only time I'd take it off is if I need the extra breakout force or using a bigger bucket to mass excavate or load out trucks with heavier materials that is harder on equipment. The tiltrotator makes the excavator a true multitool that can be used for pretty much everything on a job site, that's why wheeled excavators have become so popular in Sweden as an example, put on a tiltrotator, a machine control system and a dump trailer to carry your attachments and you can do anything almost anywhere, it's brilliant.

However I changed my mind quickly, I won’t run the machine without it. It just makes the work easier. Cutting through frost, excavation, backfilling and so on. I remove it only to run the hydraulic hammer. I’m sure you will change your mind as well.

If you look at the wrist in terms of how much less hand work you need, it pays for itself in a couple years just from that alone. the amount of things that are possible with that function that would be near impossible without it are almost endless, and the longer you run it the better you get.

Probably good for grading and cleaning up for a 1 man crew or not having a laborer ,but when we buy machines and get the couplers, we go for breakout force and lifting, plus the price for one then to outfit 5-6 other machines, we see it not worth it. Also on our wheel excavators we have the reg tilt buckets, and when they get worn the guys rip and tear stuff with bucket angled and with the play they rip the piston apart. I'm happy with the Cat dedicated coupler with a reg bucket and a straight edge clean up bucket. We have labors to hook up the chain to move stuff. That thing gotta kill the breakout force

  • @TripleMEquipmentServices
    @TripleMEquipmentServices Před 5 měsíci

Once you get used to the TR you'll hate going without it except when you're hogging material or ripping frost/stumps.
If the rocker switches for the controls don't feel right you can change them around. You can do it the quick way by popping the switches out and flipping them around or you can link your phone or a laptop to the little computer in the cab and change the direction the switches control, change what the switches control (ex if you wanted to change tilt and rotate functions between joysticks, etc). When my setup was new it just didn't feel "right" but after switching the controls around with the computer it felt more natural. I have my tilt and rotate opposite yours but it's all preference.
Regarding attachments, you'll probably find that the Engcon smooth edge ditch bucket, skeleton/sorting bucket, and their cable/trench bucket work well and feel "right" on the machine. I haven't tried it myself but have been told numerous times if you remove the bolt on cutting edge and only run the factory welded on cutting edge the ditch bucket works much better. Their digging bucket with teeth has weird geometry and is too "long" of a floor vs normal North American buckets. A lot of us have quit using the European style digging buckets in favor of normal North American style buckets with the S coupler put on the top. I use a Tag bucket but I know others really like Craig buckets along with CMP, AMI, etc. You'll be amazed at the difference with a conventional style digging bucket under the TR vs the weird European style. Also the Engcon/European style grapple is infuriating and don't trust it for holding a firm grip on something over anything important. Their single cylinder design with a linkage to control the other 1/2 of the grapple and no locking valves leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately many of us have learned that the hard way, a lot of guys have gone the way of putting a CMP non rotate grapple under their TR, it's on my list but haven't gotten around to spending the money and ordering one yet but every time I use the Engcon grapple I'm ready to spend the money.
They're a fantastic addition to a machine, especially for someone who's working by themselves, in confined spaces, or around lots of obstacles. They do have their downfalls but to me the pro's far outweigh the con's.

I saw the thumbnail and thought. " Cool, John Deere . Not even paying that much atention to the tiltrotator. ( We don't have John Deeres in Europe. )
Like Matt said, over here ( Sweden, Norway, Finland. (Europe??)) they are on pretty much every excavator. Ofc not the biggest ones, and the ones dooing really brute force work.
Don't get me wrong, those rotatingtilts will break! But it is really cool to see someone use it that has had the time to master it.
Not much need for hand shoveling. Brooming tops, and even then some of the machines have brushes they attach to the Encon. 😅
Stoked that you got to use one, and having and open mind on it.
Hope you get to use it some more.

Always level the rotator. Take a front scoop and as you start to spin it around immediately level the rotator.

I knew the season would end for you very soon by the videos you were posting. In the Vancouver all the local mountains are bare and in Whistler the base is only 145 cm. A poor season for winter sports but more than likely next year will be back to normal. I can recall years back like when the Olympics were in Vancouver it was even warmer/drier than it is now.

“only 145 centimeters” 😂 that’s an extremely good year in northern Sweden….sadly.

@swedish_sadhguru3854 in Whistler we usually have low 300s around this time of year.

What ever keeps the sled going. Is a good thing. Haven't been able to ride one day here in Minnesota.

Nice set up with the autolube and light bar on the cab! Engcon makes a good product all though service for me has been iffy at best. Your only missing some Trimble gear and you will be all set!! Also, seems like there is alot of money in Muskoka? What does every one do lol
