The Philippines is not Latin. We share the same colonizers, which was Spain ! It is an insult to call Austranesian, Polynesian, Southeast Asian people Latin furthermore as a Visayan I definitely think it is insulting!!

We are not Latin, but Filipinos are Hispanic or heavily Hispanized whether you like it or not. Many are not insulted, instead they are savoring the treasures of Spain and Hispanicity. Food, fiesta, Semana Santa, education, Catholicism, architecture....If not for Spain, there is no Philippines. We could ended up as different micro-nations of Muslims and Hindus. Spain united the Philippines, and many Filipinos especially in Zamboanga and Bicol has Spanish blood and therefore considered Hispanics (according to Spanish government research).

I agree with the advice of that Venezuelan guy to the Filipinos. That Filipinos should climb hard until they reached the peak of the mountain ⛰️ though Filipinos love to have fun but we still need to strike a balance between fun and personal growth. Also hopefully the government can provide a better employment because when it comes to GDP per capita we often get left behind.

Unfortunately, Venezuela has the highest crime rate in South America even with implementing a ‘no gun’ law.
