Was literally searching all day on this very topic, would not have thought to check the clutch gudonya and god bless tha ks so much for this bang on video
Hey , just wanted to thank you for the awesome videos , it helped me a lot , very educational and informative , thanks for sharing your experience man , God Bless you
I change the hoses like in your video said and it was helpful I just did it it's working better now idle is study my air filter is a pod I do not have a sports Muffler I'm trying to save money to get one I really like your Channel very helpful
Steve from Annapolis Maryland I'm going to be 59 years old next month and I love working on scooters I just started working on the beginning of 2022 and I'm really overwhelmed with the GY6 engine keep up the good work you got my vote Steve from Annapolis Maryland
Love the videos.. would this still be the case…clutch, rollers and belt on a new Chinese bike. Got Lexmoto Aura but it’s slow up hills, I know, should of bought a Honda. Been told to check the tappet gaps? Any advice? Thanks
Hi mate . Changed my piston and rings heads gasket and seals . Changed variator cleaned carb brand new belt cleaned rollers. Still taking of really slow hand on the throttle all the time . What could this be
I’ve got a sinni street 50. With a gy6 engine. It runs great up to 20mph then it won’t go further; however, randomly it’ll run up to 35 then revert back wards I’ve cleaned the carb and air filter. As well as replacing the spark plug
Thks 4 your video i have a piaggio Zip 50 2t when i drive in full acerattor the speed cut down i cleaning the caburettor new filter new spark plug and still the same thank you very much
hi mark my 1998 speedfight 100 is running slow at 20mph max with some smoke coming out the exhaust and runs so hot that its melted my seat bucket slightly ... could you please inform me of what it may possibly be
Hi Mark, simple question today, i hope. Do you know anything about a sparepart make named Motoforce? Their stuff are usually half of the price for original parts. Is it stuff that will do the job, or just an excellent way of getting more grey hairs?
Hello, great video! Honestly i've learned a lot from this. I would like to ask you something. I have recently bought an mbk booster and took out the variator ring and put slightly lighter rollers but now untill 20 km/u it accelrates quiet good but after that I feel like a dip and it loses power. Do you have a solution? Thanks.
My moped is doing the same thing that you explained bogging down has no power and it never started until my CVT belt broke and I replaced it with another one. After I replaced it when it started. And I tried everything. I bought another belt that did not work and then I bought a brand new variator and that did not work and then I bought a brand new clutch and still it done the same thing so then I bought a brand new carburetor CDI box change the spark plug change the oil and it's still doing the same thing. But I'm wondering if it is my clutch which is brand new because when you grab it with your hand and squeeze it to open the clutch it's extremely tight and it's very hard to do so do you think it could be the new clutch? I really tried everything and I'm so frustrated. The moped will start it will even run but once I get it on the highway it has no power I'll hold it to the floor and it has no power and when I come to a stop sign it almost dies and it's horrible on the take off and give it gas and it takes a moment to take. I've spent like $200 trying to figure this out so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
oh wow ok bud so it starts good and runs but then messes around once riding this can be your carb , try tuning like in my tuning video or you may have to buy a new carb and set it up with the old jet then tune clutch should be ok once fitted and you have done all the rest including new roller 6g yes
Hello nice video 👌🏾, how do you call the tool that insert in the wholes when you say specialist tool? I'm trying to find it but I can't because I don't know the name.
its the speedfight clutch release tool , or just Peugeot speedfight clutch tool , you can also get it off by someone sitting on it and hold the rear brake while you undo it bud hope that helps
your message was held as not subscribe !this can happen when the air filter needs cleaning and a service , so clean of change plug and clean your carb I have videos on both on my channel that will help and many videos on the aerox hope that helps mark
What’s the perfect roller for a Yamaha 155 SMAX? Mine doesn’t have a speed to climb uphill and the acceleration isn’t powerful. Cheers for the video. It’s so educative
more like bud they need changing and cleaning the variator and maybe belt so stick to the standard ones for now follow my videos on the variator bud as this will help
4:42 Mark any chance of a close-up of exactly what you're doing here with the claw hammer. I have a Peugeot Looxor which might not have the lever points that the Speedfight has. But if I could see your trick, that would help please. Ta.
@@ppppugh7892 not on this one but I do show it better on a few other speedfight videos worth a watch as in a lot of the videos I start with a one day fix and end up fix 5 or 6 things and im sure I did it on a ludix and a nrg even a dna so its the same trick each time its just about pushing it in and holding it with your foot then a big bar and push up quickly
@@marksavage I got it off! The rollers were flattened and the housing looked like it was filled with wax oil, I mean filled. I will change the seals! Have you ever seen this before - filled with black grease oil?
Hi again Mark, sorry to be a pain. I watched one of your videos, and it had a bit in it about the brake light switch in the handle bars. We have a Jonway madness , the switch looks the same as what you had. I have looked on ebay etc, but have been unable to find one. Where do you get yours from? All the best Cockney Rebel
thanks bud , these were my first videos and I was using a iPhone, they have got a lot better quality now but like you say as long as they help I'm happy
i have a Peugeot speedfight 2 100cc started up fine this morning from kick but someone messed with carb and now doesnt start not sure why any ideas will help thanks.
well if they played with the carb bud take it off follow my cleaning and tuning tips and see how it goes, have you check the spark like in my videos and done the hand test on the rear of the carb. start simple and see how you get on with over 70 videos on speedfight im sure these videos will help and I have another channel where they are all on a play list
I have a 50 cc toa toa scooter .it won't go full speed its like some things holding it back like a break.bwheel won't hardly move its like the break stop in it.do u know what's the problem?
hi bud put the ped on the centre stand see how freely the rear wheel moves? and check the rear brake see if it could do with a service like in my videos on brakes next take off the VARIATOR cover like in my videos and follow how to look at it clean it and maybe change rollers if needed and check clutch this should help mark
Hi, I'm going to need rollers but not sure what weights I need, it's for a 49cc kymco? What would you recommend? Thank you for your videos, I'm new to fixing up my bike so these videos are amazing.
best look on google for the right weight for your bike and then check out e bay, remember to clean up the variator like in my videos as they loads on my channel mark
@@marksavage i tried google, that's why I asked you lol. Ps it's not easy when using a hammer to unscrew, I've been trying for an hour, it keeps moving and I cant get a grip from the hammer. But thanks anyway.
@@emmagibbs4551 it works on speedfights and DNA and aeroxs but not sure on a kymco but try like in my video and push up with your foot and jam it in there If not you will need the variator tool for your bike
Thanks for the video. I have a TaoTao thunder, its a 49cc but i have a 100bore kit on it. I have been having a problem similar to what you are describing. #1, takes long to turn over (the kick start wont work at all). As i leave my house, about 50 yards out i reach top speed then the engine begins to loose power, the throttle will be wide open but my speed will reduce, then a few seconds later it will recover.. ive had my machine loose power to the point of a 'crawl'. Ive heard many theories and even mechanics say they fixed the problem to no luck. Any ideas? Im afraid to more than 3 miles. Some have told me the engine lost compression and its toast, others say the carburetor needs to be adjusted. Any advice?
shane mahler hi bud Thanks for watching , if you have watched my other videos you know I don’t like big bore kits Have you checked the head / piston as it does sound like piston / ring failure Carb prob not set up right , did you upgrade the plug as it will get a lot hotter with the bore kit? You will have to , check everything bud From carb reeds piston exhaust plug, it’s a big job bud you need to get to the end of it I have a few well lots of videos on my channels that should help Mark
shane mahler well it’s worth a go on the simple things bud before paying out Get a cuppa and flick through my videos as some should help for the basics All the best mark
I have the factory Jets on it should I up the jet or put a lower one I have a phone filter should I change it and put the regular filter back on it every time I put the filter back on the bike does not start
Hector Rivera try running the carb like in my tuning video and clean carb New plug Have you a sports exhaust ? If so yes try a small up jet by 4 Air filter do you have the link pipe on it just the filter Have you change or cleaned the airfilter ? Mark
Hi Mark,my vivacity 3 seems to have died.cant get it to start.had a mobile mechanic out to look but he is stumped.it has spark and compression ,cleaned the carb, battery fine .was great b4 this any ideas m8
ch1ll110 hi bud It still can have compression but the piston can still have gone! Like in my videos have you done the wet had test ? Does your plug get wet ? Is this one 2t or 4t ? Mark

@@markclemo123 there should be a pipe on there but its not the end of the world ,just dont block it up as its there to cool it If you can find one replace it as it stop rubbish getting in
Hi Mark great videos. When you cleaned the clutch, did you strip it down, or just used wd40? We have one that is very sticky. I cannot close it with my fingers. Still have to get it off, but will manage somehow.
@@marksavage Thanks for that Mark, Just found a helpful tip in these comments as well. help hi i have problem with my yamaha vino 125 2006 has spark has gas exhaust is good valve is good crank but wont start i change the carburator cdi /coil / valve ajust compression check 140 psi still wont start what can be the problem [note i have 2 yamaha vino 1 running 1 not running ] thanks
hi bud thanks for watching I've not worked on one before but take it it's 4t, we had the same sort of scooter over here made very cheaply with a cheap Chinese engine that fails after a few 1000 miles. being Yamaha i guess the engine would of been made better, i would go for timing or valve damage even piston failure as you can still get compression ! as you have a running bike i'd be using parts and swap them over till it ran, or other way round so take parts of the none runner so you would know they work then you would be left with what does not hope that helps bud mark
Hi my speedfight 4 starts then if I ride off after a few yards it’s started to make loud noise screeching so turned engine off any ideas please? It’s had new spark plug
its where the sound is coming from ? check if you start up on the stand and listen , then investigate bud , 100s of speedfight videos and most will be the same from variator system of rear wheel etc
Hi mark i recently changed my peugeot speedfight 3 cdi to a naraku racing cdi. Now my scooter revs higher but it doesnt pull feels like the clutch is sliping or the weight are yoo light. But before with the standard cdi it reved lower and it felt faster? Why did the racing cdi didnt work ?
odd as higher revs would pull more , so variator off and clean and change the roller to 6g like in my videos on how to do it ok it shows you on a sp2 but all the same and as you there checkl the belt as may need replacing last thing to check would be the clutch as in my videos mark
on the rollers mark you said you like to mix heavy and light rollers is 5s and 10s ok, do you stagger them like 5,10,5,10 or just 5 in one side and 10 other side
since the video and many others I found 6g's x6 is the best mid range rollers for pull away and top end so a lot easier but as for combi yes every other one but as said just go for 6g's bud and remember to clean the VARIATOR thanks for watching please like and sub and I have many other speedfight videos and moped videos that might also help mark
OMG. The trick with using a hammer to lock the variator is genius!. I tried locking it with a screwdriver and failed. Eventually had to order the damn part specifically for locking my gy6 motor's variator. And its gonna take like 3 weeks to get here. So forget that, you saved me.
that's good to hear bud that my videos and tips help, there many more videos on my channel and the basics are the same so may help for other things thanks for the feedback bud ,take care
Nevermind , I lied. It seemed genius, and it would have been if not for my variator bolt being on so tight that I can't even twist it without it lifting the scooter off the ground or slipping the hammer out. Guess I'm waiting 3 weeks c-c.
use a bar like I show in my videos, it should push down to get it off and use you foot to hold it in place or get a friend to help push down while you hold it in place it will work bud, maybe a little wd40 will help
if it's running fine now then i'd leave it but having a look at your rollers and changing them can always help good to hear your back on the road and my info and videos helped mark
Hi mark listen I’ve had speedy now 6 month finally got it workin but like this video sez its rubbish pull away and wen going does 20mph I’m really confused aha we’re r u. Based could really do with hand pal
pulse lightsped 2 50cc. i have upgraded to 100cc kit, i have replaced the rollers but theres still no power. the max it goes is 15mph wont go any higher. What could it be please help me out. Let me know please.
This bud is why I say don't do big bore kits It not as simple as just changing the head Did you upgrade the plug Bigger carb Upjet Air filter Then tune ?
My piaggio nrg had a fuel leak so I took it to a bike garage and they replaced the bowl and the float on the carb few hours later was bogging really bad and the acceleration is now slow and if I don't let it warm up it Just will be boggy and it never was before and top speed is 35mph lol before it was 45 all I have is pipe and 3.5g rollers bike is 2016 with 3k miles could mine be same issue also left it for a month before I rode it
Well thats odd ! I would say go back Ok the float may now be letting in less or more fuel as bogging can be both !! If you were getting 45 with 3.5 rollers that's good as I use heavy normally for better top end If you can take off the variator system Clean up and check or change the rollers bud Then look at the carb Maybe ask if they did anything else while at the garage? Jet maybe blocked ? Take off and give it a clean too and check air mix like in my videos bud
Hi Mark, thanks for all the videos , have a few problems with a speed fight 3 50cc. Takes a bit of work to get it started , and revs up very high where it almost feels its going to pull itself off the stand ,then settles about 2500 revs. When pulling away revs itself but does not go anywhere and eventually pulls away after about 3 of 4 sec. When running all seems ok until you have to stop ... traffics lights etc then cuts out. I bought the scooter with mods on .... bigger rollers I was told exhaust and after market carb. I had been given all the original parts so got a garage to change the exhaust. I was going to get it booked in and after watching your videos going to get the following done.... 1,variator cleaned and or weights changed 2, carb cleaned/idle adjusted or original put back 3,air filter replaced 4,spark plug replaced can you tell me your ideas of whjat it might be and if the things I have mentioned are the way to go ? and if not why. thanks in advance Mark
nitnit202 hi bud thanks for watching I have a few videos on the sp3 and as you know I don’t like be them Ok yes that’s the right way that’s go I’d of left the sports exhaust on as long as it was ok Clean variator and got a little more on the weight than standard and while there change the belt and clean clutch Carb back to standard Peugeot on but up jet by 4 like in my videos but you might get away with going by up 8 if running ok Sports airfilter insert NGK plug Sorted There’s are things you could do bud with my videos but like I say in my top ten tip video only if you can All that should help and last good 2t oil Mark
I changed the exhaust as it was on its last legs and this scooter was my kids first bike ,didn't want her to get pulled with a stage 6 exhaust. Thanks again, what do you think is the best scooter type ? make ?
nitnit202 it all comes down to the sort of girl she is ! My daughter want to go as fast as possible so speedfight , aerox 2t jobs If she just want to potter around then go for 4t bikes as easier to keep and are happy doing 30mph all day Then budget if you have the money buy newish you can Or one that has been looked after Try a few let her have a sit on it and make sure she’s happy Sp3’s are good bikes as long as they run as in my videos they can be a pain Hope that helps bud Mark
hi mark my bike when trying to start it starts sometimes to spit back and puff and don't share start but sometimes it runes and flys lovely but only dose 38mph why would that be
hi bud spitting back is too much fuel while starting bud, service it bud maybe clean or change plug, service carb as for 38 mph, is it standard , upgrade time bud, sports exhaust and like in this video and my other video check roller and other parts there mark
Hi mark, can I pick your brain? I bought my son a kymco super 8 50cc 2t, I have put the smooth collar on the variator and checked the rollers which are 8grn, they seem round etc, and have put new belt on . I checked the clutch that seems ok. My problem is that it is doing fine on the level but is losing power on an incline, if I keep full throttle it just slowly loses power as if its not shifting down, would you say I need lighter rollers? Any thoughts much appreciated
Morning bud 8g is heavy so yes 6g would be better and give it a good clean Carb? Have you cleaned and serviced it like in my videos What jet is in it Standard exhaust ? Give the carb a service and tune also clean air filter or change that If it still does it after all that it could be worn piston / rings which would also do this I have many videos that will help on my channel bud
@@marksavage cheers Mark, I'll try the lighter rollers as I have put a slightly bigger jet in and cleaned air filter etc. Cleaned carb and it's only done about 1200 miles so piston should be OK. It's great on level, 40+ . Would you go for 6g or 5/ 5.5g ? Some great vids by the way, really helped me out already
@@mcfcarpetsstokeontrent1109 me 6g is a great all round weight If you have upjetted maybe a little more air in is needed Try a sports in box air filter or thin out the one in there now More fuel needs more air
hi as in my many speedfight videos all worth a watch, I used to combi them but founds overall 6g gave the best for a/c total weight 36g 36g to 42g seem to be the happy weight to give best pull away and top end, make sure you follow my video to install
I'd be going over it now bud She may have damaged the frame Front suspension as pushed back And then yes damaged the head stock I'd be really looking at it or get a shop to bud to be safe Hope your daughter is ok

hi ok you have askede twice and i guess its the rollers, have you checked them? i have many videos on the variator and rollers watch them they wil help, remember to clean it well and change the roller, i'd go for 6g's but weigh the old ones to see what you had in there please like and sub mark
I have a problem similar to this my moped revs up and then has no power but when I Rev again I get the power back it only happens every now and again but I have a feeling it’s due to bad petrol and maybe needing an oil change as it’s been in the shed for a while, could this be the case ?
Hi bud Yes there's 100 speedfight videos on channel that will help Type in speedfight mark savage and they will come up Look at variator Upjet and carb videos bud
To get it faster. Remove the washer from the variator. Use 5 to 6gram rollers. Remove the restrictor collar out of the top of the exhaust. Use the white contra spring and tighter clutch springs.
Hi there, I have a 2016 lexmoto matador 125cc 4 stroke, it ride great, but at top speed it dies back by about 10kph. If I let the throttle go and twist again, it does the same again, would this be the rollers and clutch? Thank you. @@peterking7625 these kits are made a little better than the 2r kits but I'm no fan of them nor the setting up I'd change the carb with a 45cc upgrade More fuel and air needed bud

Carb , over a night etc they can leak a little and the fuel level in the carb goes down and then takes a little to get back in and start Fuel lines go hard or loose and tha vacuum fails Faulty choke but I'd start with the carb bud
When you renew rollers replace tbe littleclips as well ..they are plastic and wear as well ..sometimes even brake..from time to time buy a complete new vario
hi bud so you have a moped ( which one) and you got it running but it wont pull away? does it die or just not pull away? have you looked at the variator ? I have over 70 videos on speedfights and 150 on mopeds give them a watch as the will help bud
hi bud as in my videos, always a clean dry cloth, do not use any sprays or oil's , also check the rollers for flat spots and if so change them . thanks for watching bud mark
mark savage I changed my cylinder and I seem to be loosing power and sometimes it stops at 15mph 🙈 I was told keep it at 30mph for 200miles to wear it in. I had 4g rollers but was told need slightly heavier so I put 5g in and still lose power
if the variator system and clutch / . belt are ok then check carb , plug for spark if all ok then check piston again bud .5g rollers are ok , did you fit them like I show in my videos mark
I used to combi them but found the best weight to be 6g so 36g in total It was best for pull away and top end What's its running Luke now with what you have and what was the total weight
mark savage just put new 6.5 in and new belt and changed the spark plug mate went up the road ok but then bogged out straight away revs up but doesn't move again going to take carb off cos when I pulled fule pipe off noticed water in with the fule on the ground mate
Dirt is not really a problem. If it was there would be a gasket on the clutch/variator cover! The ‘dirt’ is wear from the belt, and clutch. The blades on the variator are to blow or vent dust away from the variator to the outsides of the casing. A speed fight needs 8 gram rollers. That is the key point. Roller size/power ban Ratio. Without variator guides, you get uneven movement, uneven roller wear etc. what did the old rollers look like? Divided?
The cover has a gasket ! Just ni -on all of them do not get replaced But yes it's the belt that causes the mess Some people even grease the rollers 6g is the best all round weight, its what I've used in the 400 speedfights I've worked on ! Other weight for other mopeds I used to combi them a few gram here and there for wear and sports systems You still need pull away As for the mess of cause it's a problem bud as it will build up in the system and stop the rollers rolling ! But ha Happy to learn something new as I've only worked on 1000s of moped and 100s of bikes Who knows it all! Not me I just try and help others with my videos
@@marksavage im sure your knowledge is extensive. I’ve recently started out on 2strokes after years, and currently working US classics. hi bud ok so i take it you watched my video 70cc kit don't do it !! you will have to up jet or go to 19mm / 21mm carb, then jet it correctly, then as in my tuning video get the air mix right you should be fine with a sport in- filter but yes not the sponge ones as they suck in water like in my videos i have many other videos that will help but you will need to sit at a computer to see them all as i have 364 videos and well over 100 on mopeds plus the ludix if you do get it running and you will need a sports exhaust you will have to add 2t oil in with your petrol as the oil pump is only set up for a 50cc along with the cdi i would rather have a 50cc with all the add on's than a 70cc kit as they just don't last bud as i say in my videos please like share and sub mark
mark savage what would be the best carb would you say to get what is causing back pressure as never done this b4 I have sports exhaust on it atm and have subscribed n liked mate top bloke :)
Gav Crouch I’ve not gone down that road of trying before I’ve always put them back as it’s a pain paying out and if not worked it’s a waste 19mm are easier to set up but as in my tuning video they speedfight I was working on had that 21mm carb and ran fine !! Just a bugger to start Lol See what you can get and make sure it will fit Did you upgrade the plug to a hotter one? As the bike will run hotter ! Mark
Gav Crouch 17.5 is a standard carb so if upgrading with a 70 kit maybe look at 19mm But it’s up to you really bud I only do 50cc and 125cc oh and the 400cc 650 cc Bergman’s Lol

its a 2t so they will be a little black as normal but you say you have tuned the moped! what air filter do you have on? change the plug for a new one if you have moved the air mix to 3 half bring it out more like in the video watch my down jetting video as you are get too much fuel and not enough air what jet size do you have in the carb
I’ve tried putting the claw hammer on the variator and I can’t seem to get it off the hammer keeps slipping it’s irritating me how can I go about this ?
Reeferbuilder.96 push it is n really hard then ram you foot tight and push forwards as hard as you can Use a long bar like I use in my videos then push bar away from you as you push you foot If no good wd40 but and if still no joy you may have to buy the variator tool as in my other variator tool to help Mark
mark savage hello mate yeah I’ve watched all your videos been subscribed for a year now I’ve tried the foot and long bar method I’ve been told by my local garage either to get the variator tool or use a wizzy gun for the last resort
mark savage just ordered the locking variator tool . Not really used to riding mopeds normally ride bigger bikes lol . Also I’ve ordered a new sports exhaust I was just wondering will I have to upjet the carb ?
@@MT07-RYDER its a try and see bud so fit it and see how it runs as ive fitted many and they have been fine and other times not as the previous owner may have already up jetted and then they can paly up a little so fit and take it for a ride bud
Hi mark, my areox sometimes runs fine and does about 50 but other times it just won’t go pass 20 like it’s in limp mode do you know what the problem is
Josh Boundford I have videos on aeroxs so check them out Check your variator bud like I had in my video rollers and clutch Then move on to changing the plug clean carb See how you get on Mark
Mark savage I went to work today and cleaned the carb again cleaned the rollers and checked the spark plug and to be honest it still does the same and sometimes even worse
hi, mark me again when electric starting my moped i have a split second start and an instant cut out, then i can stand there holding the button trying to start witht he red oil light on, i dont think it could be immobiliser because i have great spark please help? Its filled with oil, petrol, anti-freeze with new plug clean airfilter and still have no change.
so you have spark then the cdi is ok so sounds like fuel have you tried easy start ? I have had this before and it was the oil seals!! and the reeds! is the plug getting wet?
@@marksavage yes plug is getting wet and you can smell fuel when I turn it over. My dad has even sprayed wd40 into the carb but still nothing. Perhaps should try easy start the proper stuff lol!
why would you spray wd40 in to the carb!!!! NO do not do that ,now you will have to take the carb off and give it a clean and take the plug out and clean!! wd40 is not for a carb nor does it clean anything and should never be put into a carb bud never its a water displacement that what it stands for WD 40 and that the number of times it took them to get it right so use carb cleaner now and clean carb and try and spray it down the inlet to the reeds to try and clean them clean and clean so more bud
Alright dude I got pulse scout need some help got race Cdi race inlet race air filter race variator and a bran new belt not Kevlar tho bran new clutch and rollers
No but cool doing it 70 kit , probably nothing to do with it More like the other work Carb or injection Rollers variator , clutch Sports exhaust More likely heavy rollers and race springs So slow to open up Keep using e5 and good 2t or it will blow
It has a sport exhaust on it starts and runs great just the little boast past 40mph should I check rollers ?what weight would you recommend. Also while I've got you the electric start doesn't work I press the button and there's nothing it kick starts fine and ideas thanks Mark
@darrenrichsardson3828 if you get nothing then it's the relay to check first It should cluck Check brake light comes on when pulling the brake If light comes on relay if not micro switch Once click Still nothing its the starter As for speed I've leave it
Gxrfield CG hi bud as in my variator video Light rollers for pull away heavy rollers for top end Go for a weight from 35g to 45g total weight then you should get the best all round bud as you still need to be able to pull away Lol Have a thought about changing your belt too bud Thanks for watch , please like share and sub Mark
I just bought one of these for getting to the docks at stupid o'clock. Found it was bogging down under load quite badly and sometimes cutting out. Watched a ton of your videos and got a Haynes book of lies carb stripped and cleaned successfully. Much better, but still slowing on hills so I guess Wednesday's job is to check out the rollers a hundred times better than Haynes.
my scooter doesn't move faster even though I throttle the engine to the end it will only make noise but doesn't run even to climb hill is a problem it consumes fuel so much because of that, what is the problem
I have a same problem on Peugeot SF 3 and i only have 500km done even on flat can't go more then 55 km/h hills less then 30 km/h on hills , checked everything i put heavier rollers 7.5g still same all looking good and clean i put new belt no change i come to do the CDI next, do you have a video where is located and maybe a suggestion what to do next but may be i have a limiter somewhere ?Help would be good ,Thanks
hi bud sp3's do have restictors on them like 4!!, carb, exhaust, variaotr and yes CDI which stop the revs, the CDI in under the seat at the rear. if you can get a sports one great or go to a garage and get them to derestrict it, i have a few like 10 videos on sp3 and really did like working on them ( they hate mw lol). get that sorted then you can sort out the rollers i like 6g's best for all round speed, a sports exhaust will really help to and maybe upjet by 4 videos on all of theis bud on my channel, hope this helps please ;like and sub mark

Love the videos.. would this still be the case…clutch, rollers and belt on a new Chinese bike. Got Lexmoto Aura but it’s slow up hills, I know, should of bought a Honda. Been told to check the tappet gaps? Any advice? Thanks
Yes bud sports exhaust will always help along with the rollers
And maybe a small upjet of 4
Great vid. Very useful
Hi mate . Changed my piston and rings heads gasket and seals . Changed variator cleaned carb brand new belt cleaned rollers. Still taking of really slow hand on the throttle all the time . What could this be

hi mark my 1998 speedfight 100 is running slow at 20mph max with some smoke coming out the exhaust and runs so hot that its melted my seat bucket slightly ... could you please inform me of what it may possibly be
Hi Mark, simple question today, i hope. Do you know anything about a sparepart make named Motoforce? Their stuff are usually half of the price for original parts. Is it stuff that will do the job, or just an excellent way of getting more grey hairs?
Kjell Ringström I’ve not come across them yet but worth a buy and see how they perform
Thanks for watching and hope they help
Mark
Hello, great video! Honestly i've learned a lot from this. I would like to ask you something. I have recently bought an mbk booster and took out the variator ring and put slightly lighter rollers but now untill 20 km/u it accelrates quiet good but after that I feel like a dip and it loses power. Do you have a solution? Thanks.
thanks for watching I have answered in the other question bud, was away for xmas
I prefer the longer videos. And I find holding the back break in the get the clutch but off helps aswell
Jakhy always good for helpful advice

Great mark sorted my piaggio x8 125cc the rollers were too heavy and flat and a stupid washer 👍👍👍
Michael Clark great to hear my videos help

Thank you
oh wow ok bud
so it starts good and runs but then messes around once riding
this can be your carb , try tuning like in my tuning video or you may have to buy a new carb and set it up with the old jet then tune
clutch should be ok once fitted and you have done all the rest including new roller 6g yes
Hello nice video 👌🏾, how do you call the tool that insert in the wholes when you say specialist tool? I'm trying to find it but I can't because I don't know the name.
its the speedfight clutch release tool , or just Peugeot speedfight clutch tool , you can also get it off by someone sitting on it and hold the rear brake while you undo it bud
hope that helps
I enjoyed your video, and learned how to fix my moped but - what have you done with Sooty and Sweep?
only let them out now and again !
Hi Mark I was cleaning my aerox when I saw what seemed to be 2stroke oil leaking out of the Air box. What's wrong with that?
your message was held as not subscribe !this can happen when the air filter needs cleaning and a service , so clean of change plug and clean your carb I have videos on both on my channel that will help and many videos on the aerox hope that helps mark
What’s the perfect roller for a Yamaha 155 SMAX? Mine doesn’t have a speed to climb uphill and the acceleration isn’t powerful. Cheers for the video. It’s so educative
more like bud they need changing and cleaning the variator and maybe belt
so stick to the standard ones for now
follow my videos on the variator bud as this will help
Amazed that it ran at all. Everyone seems to blame the carb. Thanks.
David Collins well it wasn’t the carb this time lol
Thanks for watching

4:42 Mark any chance of a close-up of exactly what you're doing here with the claw hammer. I have a Peugeot Looxor which might not have the lever points that the Speedfight has. But if I could see your trick, that would help please. Ta.
@@ppppugh7892 not on this one but I do show it better on a few other speedfight videos worth a watch as in a lot of the videos I start with a one day fix and end up fix 5 or 6 things and im sure I did it on a ludix and a nrg even a dna so its the same trick each time
its just about pushing it in and holding it with your foot then a big bar and push up quickly

Hi Mark, I think I have found one. So have ordered it, only trouble is. it's coming from China. Still no hurry on the item.

oh that will take time bud you cant find one local uk then
where are you based and do you work on bikes, I have a Piaggio 2007 Carnaby 125 where the engine increases in revs and is sluggish on accelerating.
What my 4t carb videos bud
Then variator videos
They will both help
There's a saying... you don't need great camera quality if the content is valuable... you hit it big time here chief.
thanks bud , these were my first videos and I was using a iPhone, they have got a lot better quality now but like you say as long as they help I'm happy
i have a Peugeot speedfight 2 100cc started up fine this morning from kick but someone messed with carb and now doesnt start not sure why any ideas will help thanks.
well if they played with the carb bud take it off follow my cleaning and tuning tips and see how it goes, have you check the spark like in my videos and done the hand test on the rear of the carb.
start simple and see how you get on with over 70 videos on speedfight im sure these videos will help and I have another channel where they are all on a play list
I have a 50 cc toa toa scooter .it won't go full speed its like some things holding it back like a break.bwheel won't hardly move its like the break stop in it.do u know what's the problem?
hi bud
put the ped on the centre stand
see how freely the rear wheel moves? and check the rear brake see if it could do with a service like in my videos on brakes
next take off the VARIATOR cover like in my videos and follow how to look at it clean it and maybe change rollers if needed and check clutch this should help
mark
Hi, I'm going to need rollers but not sure what weights I need, it's for a 49cc kymco? What would you recommend? Thank you for your videos, I'm new to fixing up my bike so these videos are amazing.
best look on google for the right weight for your bike and then check out e bay, remember to clean up the variator like in my videos as they loads on my channel

@@marksavage i tried google, that's why I asked you lol. Ps it's not easy when using a hammer to unscrew, I've been trying for an hour, it keeps moving and I cant get a grip from the hammer. But thanks anyway.
@@emmagibbs4551 it works on speedfights and DNA and aeroxs but not sure on a kymco but try like in my video and push up with your foot and jam it in there

Any advice?
shane mahler hi bud
Thanks for watching , if you have watched my other videos you know I don’t like big bore kits
Have you checked the head / piston as it does sound like piston / ring failure
Carb prob not set up right , did you upgrade the plug as it will get a lot hotter with the bore kit?
You will have to , check everything bud
From carb reeds piston exhaust plug, it’s a big job bud you need to get to the end of it
I have a few well lots of videos on my channels that should help
Mark
mark savage thank you for the tips.. honestly i would be out of my league on most, perhaps just gotta bite the bullet and hire a mechanic.
shane mahler well it’s worth a go on the simple things bud before paying out

Have you change or cleaned the airfilter ?

It still can have compression but the piston can still have gone!
Like in my videos have you done the wet had test ?
Does your plug get wet ?
Is this one 2t or 4t ?

Hi Mark , great vids ... wonder if you can answer a question , does it matter what way round the rollers go in to the variator ?
They will only go in one way like i show in my videos
The variator has to be clean and dry and the rollers free to roll
Bud
@@marksavage Thanks Mark , ill have to check your vids again as i didn't see the part where you specify the way round they go , sorry !! Hi Mark great videos. When you cleaned the clutch, did you strip it down, or just used wd40? We have one that is very sticky. I cannot close it with my fingers. Still have to get it off, but will manage somehow.

hi i have problem with my yamaha vino 125 2006 has spark has gas exhaust is good valve is good crank but wont start i change the carburator cdi /coil / valve ajust compression check 140 psi still wont start what can be the problem [note i have 2 yamaha vino 1 running 1 not running ] thanks
hi bud thanks for watching
I've not worked on one before but take it it's 4t, we had the same sort of scooter over here made very cheaply with a cheap Chinese engine that fails after a few 1000 miles.
being Yamaha i guess the engine would of been made better, i would go for timing or valve damage even piston failure as you can still get compression !
as you have a running bike i'd be using parts and swap them over till it ran, or other way round so take parts of the none runner so you would know they work then you would be left with what does not
hope that helps bud
mark
Why did the racing cdi didnt work ?
odd as higher revs would pull more , so variator off and clean and change the roller to 6g like in my videos on how to do it
ok it shows you on a sp2 but all the same and as you there checkl the belt as may need replacing
last thing to check would be the clutch as in my videos
mark
on the rollers mark you said you like to mix heavy and light rollers is 5s and 10s ok, do you stagger them like 5,10,5,10 or just 5 in one side and 10 other side
since the video and many others I found 6g's x6 is the best mid range rollers for pull away and top end so a lot easier but as for combi yes every other one but as said just go for 6g's bud
and remember to clean the VARIATOR
thanks for watching please like and sub and I have many other speedfight videos and moped videos that might also help
mark
OMG. The trick with using a hammer to lock the variator is genius!. I tried locking it with a screwdriver and failed. Eventually had to order the damn part specifically for locking my gy6 motor's variator. And its gonna take like 3 weeks to get here. So forget that, you saved me.
that's good to hear bud that my videos and tips help, there many more videos on my channel and the basics are the same so may help for other things
thanks for the feedback bud ,take care
Nevermind , I lied. It seemed genius, and it would have been if not for my variator bolt being on so tight that I can't even twist it without it lifting the scooter off the ground or slipping the hammer out. Guess I'm waiting 3 weeks c-c.
use a bar like I show in my videos, it should push down to get it off and use you foot to hold it in place or get a friend to help push down while you hold it in place
it will work bud, maybe a little wd40 will help
Do you think I should go smaller jet anyway I'm going to change the rollers on the transmission next weekend
if it's running fine now then i'd leave it but having a look at your rollers and changing them can always help
good to hear your back on the road and my info and videos helped

pulse lightsped 2 50cc. i have upgraded to 100cc kit, i have replaced the rollers but theres still no power. the max it goes is 15mph wont go any higher. What could it be please help me out. Let me know please.
This bud is why I say don't do big bore kits
It not as simple as just changing the head
Did you upgrade the plug
Bigger carb
Upjet
Air filter
Then tune ?
@@marksavage no i didnt change any of that. i just change the big bore kit. what do i need to do?
could i use a polishing wheel on a dremel with no compound on it to clean it out
cant see why not bud
My piaggio nrg had a fuel leak so I took it to a bike garage and they replaced the bowl and the float on the carb few hours later was bogging really bad and the acceleration is now slow and if I don't let it warm up it Just will be boggy and it never was before and top speed is 35mph lol before it was 45 all I have is pipe and 3.5g rollers bike is 2016 with 3k miles could mine be same issue also left it for a month before I rode it
Well thats odd !
I would say go back
Ok the float may now be letting in less or more fuel as bogging can be both !!
If you were getting 45 with 3.5 rollers that's good as I use heavy normally for better top end
If you can take off the variator system
Clean up and check or change the rollers bud
Then look at the carb
Maybe ask if they did anything else while at the garage?
1,variator cleaned and or weights changed
2, carb cleaned/idle adjusted or original put back
3,air filter replaced
4,spark plug replaced
can you tell me your ideas of whjat it might be and if the things I have mentioned are the way to go ? and if not why.
thanks in advance Mark
nitnit202 hi bud thanks for watching I have a few videos on the sp3 and as you know I don’t like be them
Ok yes that’s the right way that’s go
I’d of left the sports exhaust on as long as it was ok
Clean variator and got a little more on the weight than standard and while there change the belt and clean clutch
Carb back to standard Peugeot on but up jet by 4 like in my videos but you might get away with going by up 8 if running ok
Sports airfilter insert
NGK plug
Sorted
There’s are things you could do bud with my videos but like I say in my top ten tip video only if you can
All that should help and last good 2t oil
Mark
I changed the exhaust as it was on its last legs and this scooter was my kids first bike ,didn't want her to get pulled with a stage 6 exhaust. Thanks again, what do you think is the best scooter type ? make ?
nitnit202 it all comes down to the sort of girl she is !
My daughter want to go as fast as possible so speedfight , aerox 2t jobs
If she just want to potter around then go for 4t bikes as easier to keep and are happy doing 30mph all day
Then budget if you have the money buy newish you can
Or one that has been looked after
Try a few let her have a sit on it and make sure she’s happy
Sp3’s are good bikes as long as they run as in my videos they can be a pain
Hope that helps bud
Mark
hi mark my bike when trying to start it starts sometimes to spit back and puff and don't share start but sometimes it runes and flys lovely but only dose 38mph why would that be
hi bud
spitting back is too much fuel while starting bud, service it bud maybe clean or change plug, service carb
as for 38 mph, is it standard , upgrade time bud, sports exhaust and like in this video and my other video check roller and other parts there
mark
Hi mark, can I pick your brain? I bought my son a kymco super 8 50cc 2t, I have put the smooth collar on the variator and checked the rollers which are 8grn, they seem round etc, and have put new belt on . I checked the clutch that seems ok. My problem is that it is doing fine on the level but is losing power on an incline, if I keep full throttle it just slowly loses power as if its not shifting down, would you say I need lighter rollers? Any thoughts much appreciated
Morning bud
8g is heavy so yes 6g would be better and give it a good clean
Carb?
Have you cleaned and serviced it like in my videos
What jet is in it
Standard exhaust ?
Give the carb a service and tune also clean air filter or change that
If it still does it after all that it could be worn piston / rings which would also do this
I have many videos that will help on my channel bud
@@marksavage cheers Mark, I'll try the lighter rollers as I have put a slightly bigger jet in and cleaned air filter etc. Cleaned carb and it's only done about 1200 miles so piston should be OK. It's great on level, 40+ . Would you go for 6g or 5/ 5.5g ? Some great vids by the way, really helped me out already
@@mcfcarpetsstokeontrent1109 me 6g is a great all round weight
If you have upjetted maybe a little more air in is needed
Try a sports in box air filter or thin out the one in there now
More fuel needs more air
Hi Mark, what roller weights would you recommend on a 1999 AC Speedfight?
hi as in my many speedfight videos all worth a watch, I used to combi them but founds overall 6g gave the best for a/c total weight 36g
36g to 42g seem to be the happy weight to give best pull away and top end, make sure you follow my video to install
@@marksavage Same for speedfight 2 LC?
LC are normally faster but any weight from 36 to 46 in total will be fine
My daughter came off her bike in the and the steering has gone a bit lumpy is that the bearings gone in the head set
I'd be going over it now bud
She may have damaged the frame
Front suspension as pushed back
And then yes damaged the head stock
I'd be really looking at it or get a shop to bud to be safe
Hope your daughter is ok
mark savage she’s fine thanks 🙏 a bit shock up but got straight back on a spare bike. Thanks for the reply I think I’ll strip it down and book it into the garage. She said it didn’t go hard and wasn’t going quick 🤔
Hey Mark .. I have 17 plate lexmoto fmr 50 it will not go over 30mph also slow uphill but no faster downhill any ideas for just bit more speed ? 😀
Dave if you look on my Channel you will see I have had one and done a review on it a few month ago
This is all they do bud sorry to say you can change the rollers for better pull away but that’s it wit doing a 70kit

Hi Mark can u do a Peugeot ludix snake video please cause I'm having trouble with mine soon wen I do the throttle it goes from 10mph then goes too 40mph
hi ok you have askede twice and i guess its the rollers, have you checked them?
i have many videos on the variator and rollers watch them they wil help, remember to clean it well and change the roller, i'd go for 6g's but weigh the old ones to see what you had in there

I have a problem similar to this my moped revs up and then has no power but when I Rev again I get the power back it only happens every now and again but I have a feeling it’s due to bad petrol and maybe needing an oil change as it’s been in the shed for a while, could this be the case ?
Flush out old fuel
Clean air filter
New plug
Change oil
But as said check out the variator system too
@@marksavage yes I think it was flushing out old fuel as it hasn’t happened since I rode it today and filled it up
Your videos are coming in handy I'm a new owner of a speedfight 2 50cc that only goes 30 mph haha need abit of your help to get the speed up
Hi bud
Yes there's 100 speedfight videos on channel that will help
Type in speedfight mark savage and they will come up
Look at variator
Upjet and carb videos bud
To get it faster. Remove the washer from the variator. Use 5 to 6gram rollers. Remove the restrictor collar out of the top of the exhaust. Use the white contra spring and tighter clutch springs.
Hi there, I have a 2016 lexmoto matador 125cc 4 stroke, it ride great, but at top speed it dies back by about 10kph. If I let the throttle go and twist again, it does the same again, would this be the rollers and clutch?
Thank you.
Oh by the way, your videos have helped me massively as I'm quite new to mopeds, thank again
Sounds like fuel more than the variator system
Check and clean carb
Check vacuum system and fuel pipes bud
Guessing you have all ready changed plug and air filter
savage thanks for your reply, I have recently changed the fuel filter and fuel lines, I do need to do the vacuum lines still, so I'll start there. Plug and ht lead changed also, I'll do the vacuum pipes and change air filter.
Thanks again.
I have one quick question, I'm thinking of fitting a 170cc big bore kit to my 125 4 stroke, should I go 2 sizes up on my jets?
Thanks
Pete
@@peterking7625 these kits are made a little better than the 2r kits but I'm no fan of them nor the setting up
I'd change the carb with a 45cc upgrade
More fuel and air needed bud
@@peterking7625 to be honest I've seen so many bikes with big bore kits that have little effect or better speed and often fail after a little while !
If your going to do it get the best quality one you can and upgrade the carb too
So 21mm carb not sure what your running now as standard or bigger
This then will help and run better
Sports exhaust and air filter
High temp plug and quality oil
It might run better and last if down well then tune.
That’s EXACTLY what my bike is doing

Carb , over a night etc they can leak a little and the fuel level in the carb goes down and then takes a little to get back in and start
Fuel lines go hard or loose and tha vacuum fails
Faulty choke but I'd start with the carb bud
Thankyou..i thought it might be the variator..@@marksavage
When you renew rollers replace tbe littleclips as well ..they are plastic and wear as well ..sometimes even brake..from time to time buy a complete new vario
I got a new battery and a new carbo and it’s run but want go
What do I gotta do to fix it
hi bud so you have a moped ( which one) and you got it running but it wont pull away?
does it die or just not pull away?
have you looked at the variator ?
I have over 70 videos on speedfights and 150 on mopeds give them a watch as the will help bud
Was very interesting never knew that you had to clean it once in a while now I do I will keep that in mind
Ashley Brewer always worth a check bud
Thanks for watching
Mark
mark savage will make sure its checked and your welcome mate
Mark what's the best way to clean rollers? And should I use a damp cloth to clean the inside of the variator?
hi bud as in my videos, always a clean dry cloth, do not use any sprays or oil's , also check the rollers for flat spots and if so change them . thanks for watching bud
mark
mark savage cheers pal. Your the man 👊
mark savage I changed my cylinder and I seem to be loosing power and sometimes it stops at 15mph 🙈 I was told keep it at 30mph for 200miles to wear it in. I had 4g rollers but was told need slightly heavier so I put 5g in and still lose power
if the variator system and clutch / . belt are ok then check carb , plug for spark if all ok then check piston again bud .5g rollers are ok , did you fit them like I show in my videos mark
Sorted now mate it Wa clutch bit
Just took mine apart and weighed the rollers mark they range from 9.2g down to 5.3g wot should I be using?
I used to combi them but found the best weight to be 6g so 36g in total
It was best for pull away and top end
What's its running Luke now with what you have and what was the total weight
mark savage just put new 6.5 in and new belt and changed the spark plug mate went up the road ok but then bogged out straight away revs up but doesn't move again going to take carb off cos when I pulled fule pipe off noticed water in with the fule on the ground mate
Can you use some kind of brake cleaner or carb cleaner?
you can but I dont bud , use carb cleaner for your carb and brake cleaner for your brakes
keeps it simple lol
take care bud
Dirt is not really a problem. If it was there would be a gasket on the clutch/variator cover! The ‘dirt’ is wear from the belt, and clutch. The blades on the variator are to blow or vent dust away from the variator to the outsides of the casing. A speed fight needs 8 gram rollers. That is the key point. Roller size/power ban Ratio. Without variator guides, you get uneven movement, uneven roller wear etc. what did the old rollers look like? Divided?
The cover has a gasket !
Just ni -on all of them do not get replaced
But yes it's the belt that causes the mess
Some people even grease the rollers
6g is the best all round weight, its what I've used in the 400 speedfights I've worked on !
Other weight for other mopeds
I used to combi them a few gram here and there for wear and sports systems
You still need pull away
As for the mess of cause it's a problem bud as it will build up in the system and stop the rollers rolling !
But ha Happy to learn something new as I've only worked on 1000s of moped and 100s of bikes
Who knows it all! Not me I just try and help others with my videos
@@marksavage im sure your knowledge is extensive. I’ve recently started out on 2strokes after years, and currently working US classics. I’ve restored a Yamaha Neos, saved it from the scrap, and now I’m onto my speedifight 2 and doing the research. hi bud
ok so i take it you watched my video 70cc kit don't do it !!
you will have to up jet or go to 19mm / 21mm carb, then jet it correctly, then as in my tuning video get the air mix right
you should be fine with a sport in- filter but yes not the sponge ones as they suck in water like in my videos
i have many other videos that will help but you will need to sit at a computer to see them all as i have 364 videos and well over 100 on mopeds plus the ludix
if you do get it running and you will need a sports exhaust you will have to add 2t oil in with your petrol as the oil pump is only set up for a 50cc along with the cdi
i would rather have a 50cc with all the add on's than a 70cc kit as they just don't last bud as i say in my videos

so now your only getting 20pmph, we spoke about this already didn't we?
you took off the VARIATOR cleaned it and made rollers were in ok and round - if not change too 6g
belt is the right one as theres a few and different sizes ?? you may have got a bigger one that's not letting the gear go up
it was happening with the original belt also so i changed the belt and it’s exactly the same
Today i have also cleaned all the variator and changed the rollers
same problem did you ever fix it?
I did that but the bike goes up and down on idle I don't know what it is maybe it's a blown head gasket my spark plugs are dark black
its a 2t so they will be a little black as normal but you say you have tuned the moped!
what air filter do you have on?
change the plug for a new one
if you have moved the air mix to 3 half bring it out more like in the video

is the plug getting wet?
@@marksavage yes plug is getting wet and you can smell fuel when I turn it over. My dad has even sprayed wd40 into the carb but still nothing. Perhaps should try easy start the proper stuff lol!
why would you spray wd40 in to the carb!!!! NO do not do that ,now you will have to take the carb off and give it a clean and take the plug out and clean!!
wd40 is not for a carb nor does it clean anything and should never be put into a carb bud never
its a water displacement that what it stands for WD 40 and that the number of times it took them to get it right
so use carb cleaner now and clean carb and try and spray it down the inlet to the reeds to try and clean them
