    Love the semi opaque finish. I’m cheering for textures and paint to remain!

    I tried some this morning....I don't remember the colors, but one was a coral that I LOVE....then a blue, and a light green.

      Oh cool…I’m so glad you like it. I think it’s a beautiful look. Mine is still just fine in my journal, so no worries about anything “going off.” ❤️

    Very interesting…. Does the wax make the sprays become permanent❓❓❓. I think I’ll try this medium❗️

      Yep it seems to. And so far it’s all staying on the paper too. A tad sticky still, so I will continue to watch it

    HI Sally thanks so much! Can you mix cold wax with oil pastels? This video has convinced me to get the cold wax..so Im a newbie with it...........loves

    • @SallyVanNuysMixedMediaArtist
      @SallyVanNuysMixedMediaArtist  Před rokem

      Yes you can! The usual recommended ratio of wax to oils is no more than 50|50, but we often add oil pastels on top of a layer of oil paint and cold wax for added mark making and texture. The oil sticks or oil bars are also fun to use.

    I thought cold wax can be used to seal watercolors

    • @SallyVanNuysMixedMediaArtist
      @SallyVanNuysMixedMediaArtist  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes a thin layer of cold wax can be used over watercolors. You might get some lifting though. A very light touch with a small amount of wax on a soft cloth will do.

    So it’s been awhile since you’ve don this piece. How’d it hold up?

    • @SallyVanNuysMixedMediaArtist
      @SallyVanNuysMixedMediaArtist  Před 2 lety +2

      It’s all good. I think the layers are thin enough so the paint didn’t crack. Still looks fine. Thanks for watching ❤️
