So JLM makes a DPF Regen plus which is regular additive like the Lucas is supposed to do, but they also make a JLM DPF cleaner which is a completely different chemical makeup that is specifically designed when you are doing a Regen. The difference is the first everyday use product (Regen plus) heats the exhaust up to burn stuff off easier with normally everyday driving. The cleaner is what you need when you do a forced Regen because you can damage things when using the wrong product at the wrong time

You know, one company makes 90% of the injectors in all of the different manufactures of diesel engines. That company also produces an injector cleaner called Stanadyne. Most of the diesel engine manufactures recommend this product. It contains the same solvents as you find in Diesel Extreme, plus a few things the DE doesn't have like water remover and an anionic suffocant which is very important. Stanadyne is inexpensive, I have seen it for $6 a bottle and treats 40 gallons.

Hey Shawn, most of the liqui/lubro moly products you can get at NAPA, the diesel purge is really good, but I one used it on conventional injectors only (the old-school, non piezoelectric/common-rail types). I heard though of folks using it on common rail injectors also, and you can bypass the fuel filter and suck straight from the bottle the full concentration, especially if you have a severe issue, it will work and not damage the injectors/HPFP, kind of hard to do that with Ecodiesel with the lift pump in the tank and CP4 (which needs positive pressure at the inlet to work), but works for CP3 flavors of HPFP or some conventional fuel pumps that make vacuum to suck in the fuel.
This may not have caused your issue since you drive a lot and get relatively "new" diesel from truck stops, but I had some issues a while ago with fuel due to diesel fungus when I fueled at a "shady" pump, which caused my jeep crd ran really bad. Even after replacing filters and fuel I still had some issues, and those were cured by using sta-bil diesel stabilizer (amazon). Ever since, I use the additive couple times a year (for my jeep it's more an issue of time interval than mileage since I do not drive it a lot). Again, I don't want to imply you may have had something similar but fyi, once you get that fungus/algae in your fuel tank it won't go away without any anti-fungus/algae additive. Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment is another great product, maybe better for your needs since it can treat more fuel for less money. Both Sta-bil and star tron are top notch products I personally use.
Glad you figured it out after all, thanks for sharing.

Sam's, Costco, BJ'S, or the like because in Michigan they are required by law to have inspection of their pumps tanks and fuel quality. Every quarter of the year, And if contamination is found the fuel is removed and the pump and tank cleaning is required or they are shut down until it is addressed. Third do you use diesel fuel treatment at every fuel up and tank cleaning to handle biological and algae growth periodically? Because you need too.

Hey mabye the problem is your running gas in a diesel.
Or at least 3 times you said gas.
Just kidding I'm sure you wouldn't run gas in a diesel. 😃
However I was trained when I 1st entered the Heavy Equipment and truck repair over 30 years ago from being a gasser mech.
Never, every use the term gas when talking about or working on diesel powered machines.
With plenty of stories about mixing it up and the destruction that went with it.
    Try Amsoil products.
I've been using in everything they make for 30 years and switched most of my customers over to it as well.
Average gains in mpg has never been less than 3 mpg with most in the 4-5 mpg increase.
Years ago I took my new 95 FL70 with an 8.3 L Cummins, Allison 6 speed trans and after it many thousands of miles on it I flushed out ALL the fluids and replaced it with Amsoil products.
Engine oil, front hubs run in gear oil, changed the power steering fluid, transmission, rear end even used their grease in the ujoints.
The milage was always 6 to 7 mpg.
After the change out to Amsoil it rose to and stayed at 14.5 mpg
Just did it with the wife's Super Duty F350 6.7L which went up 4 mpg to 19. She's always hauling horses.
My service truck I own now is a C6500 with a Cat 3126 it had 6000 hours on it when I switched to Amsoil. And again the milage went up 3 mpg. Once I switch the tranny and gear oil I'm sure it will raise up more.

ram ecodiesel source is a channel here on youtube. he talks about diesel fuel quality here in the states and gives a clear explanation of what going on. ram ecodiesel source is a firm believer of the hotshots secret product line. powestrokehelp also on youtube likes arch oil products. the common things both of the channels I mention talk about is diesel fuel quality here in the usa. which is going to be the underlying problem for all modern diesel that have the higher milage.
I would start using the hotshot or arch oils stuff immediately. by using it now all you are doing is preventive maintence for the future. you will be preventing the headaches of the video poster was experiencing. I have used both but I now only use hotshot because the cost is less with the roughly the same results

+mopar ecodiesel (dotcom) if I drove like you, would probably do a dpf delete and a egr delete. maybe a chip tuning.

After my turbo was replaced the egr screen I made was not reinstalled. I ran all stock for two nights, then unplugged my egr for 5 days. In that time I removed the egr tube and my intake is all sooted up again.

I'm wondering why you americans even buy diesel vehicles !!! gasoline is still very cheap in USA, your USA gallon is 3.7 litres and even your gallon is cheaper then 1 liter in my country (Croatia that is if anyone cares) I'm driving diesel VW golf mk4 SDI 68 hp. consumption 5-6 liters per 100 km. My point is modern diesel vehicles are complicated to maintain and expensive too.
