  • Yes I'm heading to Western Australia again.
    4th time in 18 months.
The new car really gets a workout,as the first few hundred kilometres I had heat, headwinds, and hills.
I knew once past the Nullarbor roadhouse I would get cooler temps rain and tailwinds.
I wanted rain and that's what I got,big time. The larger tyres on this car kept the car out of the water sort of,but it was getting hairy, knowing that to turn around would be hundreds of kilometres back.
So it was probably the most memorable Nullarbor trip I've done.
    Well done Bongo van.
    So hello again WA.
    Enjoy Bill

Hi Bill, it is always a wonderful sight when the Outback is in flood. I have so many wonderful Outback flood memories from the past 46 years since I started driving the Outback

Hi Frizzy,I can remember a few as kids,on the remote roads, exciting as a kid,my main thought this time was whether the roads became undermined,I remember recently when the trains were stopped from wrecked track.

Thank you for your reply. We will be heading East from WA mid July towing an 18' caravan. Different dynamics but I usually sit around 85-90 with my Prado 150 series for best economy around 13-17 depending on hills and wind. Thank you for your videos. 👍😁

Hi Bill, Quite the trip to look for relief from the heat. Sorry you had rainy weather blocking views at the Bight. I was so amazed at one of your past videos with the aerial shots of the cliffs. Would love to see the windmills in full action. Individual sculptures in motion. I love the wind, partly sunny skies with the clouds breezing by, low 60sF degrees. The sunrises are a motivation to get up in themselves with the stunning views of open landscapes. A video put out by the Nullarbor Roadhouse showed the lizard, must be a regular. I can see how the cross winds can be a bit scary with the tractor trailers with no leeway. You asked previously for likeable names of places, Cocklebiddy would have to make the list. Also, all the indigenous names in general are so interesting. Like the metal camel sculptures at the rotary. Waiting for the wild ones to pop up. Have you seen any? Looking forward to seeing what direction you decided to take, Laura PS Blue is your color 😊

Hi Laura,I knew there was cool weather coming,I just had to drive a few hundred kilometres to get it.I have a lot of drone footage from 3 other videos crossing the Nullarbor. I only fly if the wind is blowing towards land, otherwise the drone could get blowing right out over Antarctica. There were two Shingleback Lizards on previous trip only saw one this time.Whale season is a great time from the cliffs too.Hope your well and getting ready for summer I guess,Autumn here.Take care Bill.

Hi Bill, my neighbours wanted your opinion about coming across the Nullabor ( east to west), during the months of July / August. They are concerned about headwinds. What is your experience about the best time to come across?

Thanks for your compliment, filmed one month ago, turns out that I was one of the last vehicles to get through before the road was closed. Made for a memorable trip in could of been a hot and nasty drive, the underside of the car sure got a clean. All the best Bill.

Hi Bill, enjoying your trip back across the Nullarbor. Just wondering what speed do you normally sit on and what is your average fuel consumption? Cheers

Hi Desmond is it,thanks I usually sit at 80 kmph ,seems to give me about 10 litres per 100 klm.Its the same with the two Taragos.

I will have to get some flymesh for my hat for next trip across. Are you finding the Bongo more comfortable as a road trip vehicle?

    • @intooz4692
      @intooz4692  Před 2 měsíci +1

Definitely get the head mess it stops you going nuts, and the other mess can be put on any window with a few clips. The Bongo is much better it isn't huge but still I get more room and the slide out draws are magic.Enjoying the manual gears too.

Hi Laura,I think I deleted my reply, yes I knew about the cool change just had to drive 100s of klm to get it,I have put the drone over the cliffs a few times,ep 57 also shows the windmills as I flew between them, and went to some caves along the way,the Lizard had a friend last time hope it's still around.I guess your getting ready for summer,it's Autumn here nice colours around but also brown looking as it's hot too.I do like the blue shirts.Well take care until next week Bill.
