  • Happy New Year everyone hope you are all well.
So another Nullarbor Roadtrip, East West to East.
Welcome back, I'm taking my time on this trip sort of,waiting for the cooler weather to arrive.
I have managed to get the drone up alot this time,so I have split the journey up into a couple of videos.
Always interesting this trip, the 90 mile straight is Australia's longest straight road, and a great place to put th drone up.
Car is going well, traffic is busy, fuel is as you would expect.
The different time zones took it out of me this trip but I still love this drive.
Hope you enjoy, take care Bill.

This is great, and the calm music while the drone is filming is most welcome too. I first travelled the nullarbor with dad when i was 13 in his EJ Holden wagon in the winter of 1973,of course it was a dirt track for a fair way back then. We went from Perth to Melbourne. We had no punctures or anything, slept in the car too. We had been forewarned not to stop if we came across any local natives selling their wares ! We did see a couple by the bushes. Then i did the same trip solo 1981 in my VG Valiant coupe, and again in March of 1984, in my XA Falcon wagon with my Labrador, luckily i had air- con. i'll never forget seeing seals on the rocks down at the base of the great Aust bight.

Hi Bill, glad you like the music,I remember travelling as a kid,Darwin to Adelaide and back, and lots of travelling around Victoria, great memories, people should get out and see the country as you don't know what's available in the future to see, much easier now ,but you can still get a lot out of roadtrips,I wouldn't mind doing deserts one day. Thanks Bill.

Hi Bill, watching for a second time. Still can't get over the open landscapes. 85 k...no speed limit? New England is full of trees unless one travels to the shoreline. Back in 1998, drove out to Montana, which is called the "Big Sky" state. It was an odd feeling being so exposed. I surprised myself by abruptly laughing out loud at your comment on golf. Rather be exploring the natural landscape. Have you ever tried emu meat? Inquisitive Laura ;-)

Hi Laura, there are big klm between so many towns,I've heard that some European travellers have run out of fuel, because when they look at a map of somewhere in Europe, one inch is only a few klm or miles but in Australia one inch on a map can be 500 klm.It must be amazing to drive around the U.S ,of course I have to watch National Lampoons VACATION, to get an idea.Would be nice to do that one day. Thanks Bill take care.

A shame it's not legal to drive without a bonnet. I drive with my bonnet on the secondary catch in summer for more draft.😮
