    This week we cross the Nullarbor! The Nullarbor was definitely not what we expected. Stay tuned to see some of the best free camps along the Nullarbor and to see how much it cost us in diesel.

    On the bright side those Great Walls couldn't be any worse than a Navara and I considered one.

    Inox all the areas with service rust, even electrical. Most people use it on their outboard motors, definitely a good preventative maintenance job, good for the top of your canopy too, randomly for an aluminium canopy, a few areas on the top strap that joins the canopy together sometimes get a bit of rust. Same goes for the front of the car behind the bash plate

    Nullarbor is very busy especially with trucks as Halls creek bridge washed out. Will be busy this way for some time.

      Hi Gilbert, so far it has been a great vehicle, have not had any issues with it. Tows the caravan well, drives smooth and decent ride quality, great gearbox. Unbeatable value I think.

    Hi,
    How hot does it get inside your canopy?
    Does it have any ventilation?

    • @griffinsgetaway
      @griffinsgetaway  Před rokem +1

      It does get pretty hot in the canopy, no it doesn't have ventilation. I just open up one of the sides when I am parked up. I plan to add more solar and a 270 awning soon to which will help keep it cool.

    Really surprised you have trusted a Chinese made vehicle in that environment. They must be laughing at us buying their junk

      Hey mate, I understand where you are coming from. When we initially went to look for a new ute to tow our caravan. We had a look at a few different brands, we where considering a Triton but they said 9 month wait. most brands where a 6-12 month wait. We then went to GWM and took a CANNON for a drive, and immediately where blown away by how good it was for the price, made the tritons interior and features feel like it was from the stone ages. And to top it off, they had one in stock for us so didn't have to wait at all, so it just made total sense for us to get one. We only paid 35k for a brand new ute with 7 year unlimited km warranty. Have spent 8 months travelling Australia towing a caravan and it hasn't missed a beat. Anyways all if the Ute's are either, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, American etc. So there's not really any Australian Ute's anyway.
      We could have brought a second hand ute but for the same price second hand rangers etc. Had 150k plus km on them and where out of warranty. I met a bloke along the way that brought a second hand ranger out of warranty and he blew a gearbox towing his van which then cost him and extra 8k and 3 weeks of his time. So I'm happy with my decision really.
