Iâm watching from my backyard trampoline
PhonkeâŠ
How do you do it
Feeling ready for some Whack-A-Mole games after practicing Crazy Train đ€Ł
You would crush at it
Your dexterity is amazing
I can play part of crazy train on my alto sax
@@infinitecarz nice bro, I can play a part on my piano
we need a cover of it on the slapaphone
Hearing Crazy Train played on a slapaphone is something I didnât think I needed to hear today. Keep up the good work!
not if you didn't know of the Blue Man Group
That song is from trolls world tour
@@yrgarddfechan more like in trolls world tour
He forgot the AI AI AI
His sticking was terrific. He didnât hit slappers together once.
Also the sound off that thing is really cool. Like an analog synth,
As being a 13 year old percussionist, you inspire me so much to get better and betterđ
I am a 13 y o keyboard player, and he still inspires me lol
he got me back into Bass Guitar
Awesome to hear that! All the best to your musical journey!!
yo same, except i'm 14! nice pfp by the way
Iâm trumpet! 2nd chair â€
I 100% support more Rush covers. That YYZ intro was amazing â€
Rush is the best
He even had to play the more complicated song that Rush had at that which was Awesome... would definitely like to see Limelight or The Trees
Oh yeah!
@@fyrecracker7201 can't beat canadian classics đšđŠ
Just remember that it's morse code for Y, Y, then Z and you can get the phrasing down.
This guy never fails to impress me
Same
Oh TELL ME ABOUT I AGREE
I was hooked once he went god mode on the slapaphone
Slapaphone is always gold
Oh, I love Crazy Train and Smells Like Teen Spirit! Great work, man.
Thanks, have a great day!
You are very agile! Props!
Son of a gun > smells like teen spirit
Nirvana is ass
The way he moved around the marimba was so robotic and exact makes it look even more impressive
*These songs are absolutely amazing*
đ Have a great day!
@@JoePorterPercussion you too
You to
Now, this isn't art: THIS IS MAGIC! I specially enjoyed Smells Like Teen Spirit and YYZ. Breathtaking.
Nirvana is ass
1:07-1:34
I really love a hammer dulcimer part, Misirlou from Pulp Fiction.đ
It gives it a more Egyptian like the original
Fun fact: "Misirlou" is a folk song from the Eastern Mediterranean region.đ
No.... It's Pump It by the Black Eyed Peas....
I love how YYZ sounds like it came out of Final Fantasy 7. I'd love a full version, but I'd also love more Rush songs too.
That Crazy Train cover on the slapophone was amazing!
You need to do a full cover on crazy train, that sounded fantastic
That would be epic.
Ong
absolutely
In my German school we had a "slap-a-phone" but it was called Klo-rohr-phon which means "loo-tube-phone" đ
If you think we need a full version of crazy train
đ
It's very impressive that he's able to play such a wide variety of percussion instruments from all around the world
I think an interesting song choice would be raining blood by slayer. The intro does contain a lot of strange and cool musical instruments
The main riff of Crazy Train sounds like an Ibiza club night remix. Damn, this whole thing is so good. Again.
This guy is just the chad of instruments
Seeing my instrument, the 17/16 hammered dulcimer, being showed more than when I started picking it up makes me so happy and yearn to learn how to play my instrument again.
Thank you so much!!!!
Joe went God mode on the slapaphone!
And also the drum kit considering YYZ is extrmelyyyyy hard to play. Primus even had a hard time playing it and les clay pool is the best bassets of all time
_Surf Rock_ on a hammered dulcimer sounds like music from a desert area in a game.
Gotta love this guy for including some Rush songs in his videos. Great band, great CZcamsr.
You should do Rush songs on different instruments. There are some famous percussion parts in songs like Xanadu and Closer to the Heart, and I think you could also make some interesting interpretations of their other songs with other percussion instruments. Also, you should play La Villa Strangiato on drums. Love your channel btw -- percussion is underrated!
Joe: "Slapaphone!" **shreds**
That Crazy Train slapophone bit was absolutely incredible holy wow
Love it Joe, keep this up man!
Roger that! Have a great day!
YYZ was sick, one of the first Rush songs I learned how to play on drums đ„
Lamest track on this video.
@@kishascape damn homie you ain't gotta be like that
The majority of my exposure to these songs was music rhythm games, yet somehow I actually recognized all of them. Your rendition of crazy train was especially good!
Fun fact: Rush is a Canadian band (if some people didn't know), and for the same people who didn't know, YYZ is the IATA airport identification code of Toronto Pearson Intl. Airport, near Rush's hometown. It also happens to be the largest Airport in Canada.
The band was introduced to the rhythm of ths song as Rush's guitarist Alex Lifeson flew them into the airport, hence thd reason they named it.
I Enjoyed this so much
đ
What I like most about these videos is the introduction to instruments Iâve never heard of.
The Crazy Train intro was, well, crazy. Love it!
That Crazy Train Rendition was amazing. Takes me back to the first time I saw a Blue man Group video where they played it
Wish there was a full version of crazy train on slapaphone by this guy

"Crazy Train" on the slapaphone sounds like the beginning of a badass techno/trance song! \m/
Wow all of my favorite rock songs keep up the good work man!
Awesome! Have a great day!
Guys, I've got a fever! And the only prescription, is MORE SLAPAPHONE!
Crazy train on the slapophone reminds me of that meme with the guy who has 2 rolls of wrapping paper
Your rendition of Crazy Train *SLAPS*
đ
Iâm a simple man, I see Ozzy Osbourne and joe porter in the same video..
I watch and I like
i'm a 12 year old bass guitarist and my band is doing a cover of a bunch of nirvana songs including smells like teen spirit so i think its super cool to see possible instruments to learn! thank you for inspiring međ
He really got in the zone on the first one
These bring me back to my guitar hero days
Funnily enough my introduction to Crazy Train was the skit on a Blue Man Group concert where they tried to play a cover on their PVC instruments only to be interrupted by the "AY, AY, AY" voice and an unexpectedly long-lasting vibraslap.
Cool love the vid
Thanks, have a great day!
I need more rock songs, trying to make a playlist based off all the rock songs you play â€
Did not expect the rush part but we need more of it
The first one is just so majestic.
VocĂȘ Ă© muito fĂ©ra meus parabĂ©ns sigo seu canal jĂĄ faz um bom tempo e nĂŁo deixo passar nenhum de seus vĂdeos đđ»đ§đ·
Thanks for your support! All the best!
loved this, especially YYZ! in the next video like this one, can you include any song from Death? it would be very cool!
0:43 damn, I felt that stress relieving sigh đ
I was half expecting a loud AYE AYE AYE for the crazy train part
That slapaphone⊠â€
Bruh the amount of practice, time and, patience this dude has man
Never stop rocking, Joe.
Memories of Blue Man Group with the slapophone
Please do a full cover of yyz, itâs an awesome song and I love when I hear it, itâs so good my high school is doing a marching band show with it
I'd pay money to hear the full cover of Crazy Train on that. Crazy good
you gotta do this again with heavy metal songs like master of puppets
I'm freaking love it!!!!
"Crazy Train" is my fav tune in Ozzy Osbourne solo work ever.
this version of crazy train slaps hard
I see what you did there...
@@chopper2429 đ
I love percussion and string instruments! I've wanted a hand pan for so long but they are just too expensive âčïž
Bro that crazy train solo on slapaphone sounded sick đ„đ„đ„
Keep up your good work đȘđŒ
Amazing!! đ
Thank you for your amazing work!

a full crotale set??? that's the biggest flex on this channel yet
I really love rock music, thanks for making this video joe :)
Great job
Thanks, have an awesome day!
i love the hammer dulcimer and the slapaphone so much
Crazy Train is CRAZY!!!
Just amazing ! You continue to impress me
You can give this man 2 rocks, and he'll learn how to play them.
Very awesome! Love the adaptations!
The Crazy Train riff could become the best Trance song in history.
Great work
Your the bestâ€â€
0:15 to 0:28 is soo sick - imagine throwing a house beat on it or incorporating it into an epic bass drop
No
THIS DUDE IS INSANE!!!
Loved the classics
Joe your very talented with those instruments it took you so many years to make you this good and keep it upđ€đ€đđđ
At this point you are making music and percussion look like sport LOL
†the vids btw :)
I'd love to hear full song covers tbh. I've always enjoyed unique instruments covering songs we all know and love.
I have a playlist of full covers Iâve done so far (and some music on Spotify). Have a great day
@@JoePorterPercussion Oh sweet, thanks for the reply Joe.
A full on cover of YYZ with exotic instruments would be amazing. And as a bassist, asking for YYZ without a bass hurts my soul so I hope you understand how difficult this was to type.
First one slaps
Sounds better than the original
He's faster than guitar on the slapaphone
Awesome as always
I need a full version of Misirlou on dulcimer asap
Man, could you some day do a muse song? You're so awesome and I'd love to hear how it would sound! đ
Awesome
Thank you so much
This slaps! Itâs like an 8 bit version of your favorite songs
the first two songs i absolutely love
crazy train is quite possibly my favorite song and nirvana is one of my favorite bands
Finally someone knows who Rush is! Amazing video by the way!!
First instrument turns any music into techno
Very nice selection - enjoy your snippets of ensembles.
I love music! đ€đŒđčđ„đȘđžđȘđ»đ
