    The Freedom DOES have a brake light even if it doesn't say so on the website.
    My brother has an August '23 model in orange and it looks good.
    As far as the fenders go, you could purchase a spare rear or front fender from a '23 model, which are plastic, and cut it into two pieces the sizes needed and then drill and pop rivet them to the existing fenders to extend them as desired.

    Hey Gary, I enjoyed the video. I have a Kepler and for the price, it is a great bike. It is a large bike but my legs are short. 29” inseam. I opted for the step thru and it’s a high step thru. You’re right, you will get about 35 miles from a charge riding in traffic. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

    Great ebike review Gary. I received my Wired Freedom 4 month's ago, I love the speed and handling of this bike. But for the price that I'd paid, I would have appreciated a key fob motor start and lock, so that I can just turn the bike off like a motorcycle.

    I have an obsidian. I have maybe 15 minutes of ride time on it and it not rideable. The motor has so much torque that it strips out the keyed lock washer until the motor wire gets stretched and shuts off.

    • @johnadams8902
      @johnadams8902 Před 15 dny

      I'm thinking that the stripped out washer is aluminum? If so change it out to a steel one. Have you contacted the company? And if so , how was their customer service. I've noticed some people have a problem with the mokwheel obsidian, or the mokwheel basalt while others who purchase these same bikes have no problems at all. I've considered purchasing a mokwheel because i like the solar option.

    The Obsidian is the best bike I’ve tried!!! I would recommend it to ANYONE!!!

  • @18andlikeit
    @18andlikeit Před 5 měsíci +1

    I'm thinking the Obsidian might be worth the extra $100 or so over the Wired if you're doing more off road stuff. 1000w Obsidian motor should be plenty to tackle most anything and a torque sensor is much preferable for more technical trails. The lower gearing is better for off road as well. The bike can do 30+mph, I really don't need to go faster then that. Obsidian also has a better front fork with way more travel than the Wired. You can unlock the Obsidian to get close to 30mph on throttle only. I do like that you can program the PAS on the Wired, especially being it's a cadence sensor bike. Doesn't matter as much on torque sensor. Obsidian has 8 gears with under the grip trigger shifters as opposed to the bottom of the line 7 speed Wired thumb shifter. Obsidian also has a better derailer compared to the Wired bottom of the line Tourney derailer. Obsidian certainly looks better than the other two bikes. I definitely want rear suspension on my next bike so the Keplar is out for me. Btw, E-Cells is coming out with a new bike this Spring called the 5 Star. It's damn near a exact Wired Freedom clone. $1,995 with free shipping. I'd take a look at that and maybe hold off on the Wired until we find out more about it. Look the bike up.

    • @GarysE-BikeAdventures
      @GarysE-BikeAdventures  Před 5 měsíci

      I absolutely love the look of the Obsidian and I think it’s a great bike. I just think it might be a tad overpriced and the fact that it doesn’t have the rack really bothers me if they come out with a rack that could make a big difference. The torque sensor is a huge plus for me. As far as the derailer and the shifter, you literally talking about a $10 dollar difference, But I do prefer the trigger shifter. And I just recently talked to the owner of ECells about five star bike, his bike has a 1200 W motor on it. He claims that Wired over exaggerates the wattage that his motor is exactly the same for what that’s worth. And if you are looking to do more off-road, that probably is a better bike for you. I look at everything as street riding with a little off Roading and I’m talking rail trail. Lectric just came out with the XPeak eMTB rated no rear suspension though I have it coming next week.

    I bought the same type of frame of a dual shocks frame in a AiLife 26 Fat tire 1000watt at 900$ in Dec 2023. I was first person to buy this model and usually the first buyers get the best price as it increases as it sells of the stock in hand. It rides like a Harley of the wide tires and suspension along with serious start off power. I modified this e bike into a Dual Motor bike of another 1000 watt motor as using them both at same time goes 35mph over 30mph just using 1 motor. I climb hills of 30 grade at 32mph and just fly up the hills. Yes, AiLife model is overlooked out of the rest for these types of frames with a much more affordable price around 1000 to 1200$.

      I had finally made up my mind on getting a Wired Freedom, but you said it wasn’t using a torque sensor, that my justification for a freedom! Main use was for 3 1/2 miles of 2 track to pavement then 6 miles of town with 1 major hill, but for price difference with a MoonCool Mc3 with the add on battery? Tough choice! Torque sensor would of made it easier choice 🤔

    • @GarysE-BikeAdventures
      @GarysE-BikeAdventures  Před 5 měsíci

      @@ramfanweber632 you can always put a second battery on the Wired bike too. It’s a little work, but it’s not that hard. If I end up getting one, it’s definitely getting the second battery. I actually have a Lectric. XPeak coming next week I hope and I’m going to put a second battery on that and I’m also going to put a port in to run battery packs also I’ll end up with like 87 amp hours on battery. If I need it I won’t run them all the time, just the two. The mooncool is an off-road monster. Definitely be gonna be a lot slower on the road though. But you said you don’t care about speed.

    Oh, all these types of frames not suitable to load cargo on rear rack and should avoid loading rear and use a trailer to pull cargo. The flaw is this issue of the side panels is the base point of holding the rear rack bars as it will sway side to side a bit if you have weight of over 15 lbs and the bolts on the panels will get warped if not inspecting on every use of cargo. Go ahead and test by just swaying the bike while holding the rear.

    I don't need/want the 60V but other than that, I like the Wired Freedom for its customizable display and reinforced gears and especially the 11/34 gear set. The Obsidian rear fender is to short and you will still get wet. I have the obsidian, we like it very much. The only thing I wish was different is the display, I wish you could program the PAS Settings. Not a Fan of the Kepler. Just don't like the style. Great video, very informative.

      @@jcolt84 yes, I’m aware of the H8 I’m not a big fan of dual motors. I have a custom bike I built with dual motors it’s super turkey. But not all that fast and it eats battery like crazy so you end up shutting off one of the motors anyways to conserve on batteries. Plus the worst part is the front wheel is always spinning when you takeoff doesn’t matter if you’re on pavement, and dirt. Just my two cents some people love them. I’d rather have a big rear hub motor and then even bigger controller.
