Now that the frame has been all cleaned up, I can assess any needed repairs. Step one is to measure out the frame and then come up with a step by step procedure to bring it back to life.

Most informative videos I have found on chassis repairs are yours, although you are documenting what you are doing and not a how to. Keep up the good work

Thanks for documenting this! I used a few of your methods on my own truck which is almost done. I didn’t fully box the frame but I may some day. I used Safe-T-Cap sections to repair some serious frame rot. Did you avoid that solution due to their cost or you just wanted to DIY?

That is great to hear. I'm glad another truck is being saved!
Honestly, the Safe T Cap solution was one of the first things I had considered because my frame wasn't covered under the recall anymore and sourcing a good used frame was difficult and expensive. Ultimately, I chose to repair the frame this way because I believe it is going to be the best option in the long run since I can get everything cleaned and inspected.
