Cyberpunk 2077 Visual Tech Tour - The Maxed Out Next-Gen PC Experience
Vložit
- čas přidán 9. 12. 2020
- Never has so much been demanded from one game. Cyberpunk 2077 can push the most high-end of PC hardware and delivers a true next generation experience - and as our upcoming console videos shall reveal, the last-gen PS4 and Xbox One machines struggle to manage, even with a brutally pared back experience. But what has CD Projekt RED achieved at the absolute high-end? Armed with a high-end PC running with an RTX 3090, John Linneman shows you Cyberpunk 2077 at its absolute best: ray tracing, max settings, DLSS, the works.

Lmao. Love its comme t
They probably should've made it a pc and next gen console release.
Old gen has a large installed base. If I am not mistaken over 120 million consoles between Xbox One (S and X) and PS4 (PS4Pro). Developing for the old gen is the only way to ensure profit and later on porting for next gen. Same path taken by Rockstar GTA V and now Red Dead Redemption II.
And Stadia. It runs well there.

There is no "probably" about it, but oldgen is simply too large to ignore for now...and maybe it will get into decent shape later.

Cyberpunk is the first open-world game where I haven't used fast travel. It's hard to imagine games getting better looking than this. CDPR really hit it out of the park and this game alone has made them my favorite developer!

People bashing cdpr for bugs in the game ... But to be honest this is the most beutiful game i have ever played in my life .... And not many people appreciate it enough ....
The same for me. I was fortunate to play on ps5 and experience very few of the issues so many others experiences, but regardless, the world created here is my (personal) all-time favourite.
I haven't been gaming since ~2014 when GTA 5 came out. Now during the pandemic, I've too much time at home and decided to get a new gaming rig... Better said than done.. nothing available. Anyhow... the day before the Cyberpunk Release I got a RTX 3080... and all the people around me have been talking about Cyberpunk. Had no real idea what to expect but said to myself.. let's just try it out. And I'm amazed how awesome it looks (everything maxed out, raytracing psycho, DLSS quality)... I'm looking at it as amazed like a caveman would be looking at matches. I can wander around for hours and just enjoy this city. Also haven't had many bugs so far... Truely amazing. Thank you for elaborating in detail, what makes it so stunning and different.
I have medium PC specs and its still beautifull. Sometimes I just want to drive thru city and listen to great in game music.
I have been playing on Geforce now. It's got an RTX 2080 D . So i'v been playing at 1080 RT psycho ultra everything. And my god is my brain blown 🤯. And I am speechless about the story too. It's insanely good. Everything feels like Cyberpunk is a movie and I am living in the movie and I can talk with the characters. It's so realistic how Johnny sometimes is a prick but also massively reasonable at some points 😂. I love this game . It's an overall amazing package 🔥

@@Miag_vip yeah consoles are crazy powerful bc this time around they’re packed with new hardware and exciting tech like ray tracing. Pc’s have way more use to justify to spend extra money. nice video and deep analysis about the graphics
At 18:26 you can see the car LOD changing just after the scene transition, so I don't think that was precalculated.
Hopefully that issue will get fixed as it seems prevalent
I don't know. I thought they simply made a video without V in it plus a video-encoded HDR probe for the position where V would be, then they just have to render V into the already rendered scene. This is an adequate and moderately low-effort way of doing this. Why spend more effort than strictly necessary on a 90-second sequence, just as long as you can achieve the results that are creatively desired? The POV is fixed, you can't even turn your head at all, which if it was a true realtime sequence, makes sense that you would be able to.
Doing it prerendered and baking in a LOD transition into the video would have been a little absurd, or maybe just sloppy. There's absolutely no doubt that even if it's pre-rendered, it would for sure have been captured in-engine, and would retain whatever engine deficiencies are there. When you look at every single video out there, and they all have the same LOD transition at the same exact time, how comes? I also had the impression that the sequence looked better than my video settings would allow.
But what's even more absurd is how it would be managing to stream the world data for this sequence. Maybe it's just a series of smaller room-sized environments that are capped right around the FOV and have an blocked-off far plane, and they're all inside one interior-style map. That's how it would have to be done previously several generations ago. Maybe it's a splice of both video sections and realtime sections, with outdoor areas all being purely video, and some of the indoor ones are realtime.
I think this is something that can be investigated. Maybe take some RenderDoc or Nsight probes during the scene. Maybe dial down the settings to absurdely low and see how the scene degrades, or doesn't. Maybe i'll get around to doing that someday.

This looks so much better then on my series x....I think I’m going to stop playing and wait for the game to get better optimized on consoles
I think what you're playing is the Xbox one version running in backwards compatibility mode. Should wait for the proper version for your console

It looks pretty good on my LG CX 55 inch with my Series X, just enjoy the game bro lol

good vid, also love that you used Boneworks OST!
Came here looking for this!
I found crowds are best set to medium density. I was having issues with high density where people were spawning on top or even inside each other, or simply disappearing or popping into existence. Medium density solved that, while still giving the look of a crowded city. Something to consider.
does it actually look like a crowded busy city, this is part of what sold it to me and I've built a pc for it but have waited what with the issues at launch and all
I just love your in depth Videos and this game! :D
love your vids too man
Waiting for your last gen review.
It's going to be sooooo painful

Thank you for showing the beauty of this game. I have enjoyed it. I have a friend playing on the xbox 1 and he is enjoying the game also.
Fascinating insights!
This game looks amazing. I really wish I could set up an indoor and outdoor graphics profile that would switch automatically because I was running so smooth until going to see my ripper.
I was so pleasantly surprised when I started the Nomad path and had a locked 60fps on Ultra except Ray-Tracing ... and then I got to Night City proper...

buying this game on a last-gen console is a bad idea cause the hardware is so old

So, all that was done with DLSS set to Performance, that's heartening. With my minnow, it looks like I could get reasonable performance with that set to Ultra Performance, I've only got a 1080p monitor anyway. You just have to experiment and tailor it to suit what you have.
I really want to see you guys make a video like this talking about the console version

Forever glad I decided to buy a new pc this year with a RTX 30 series card, really has made this game a treat to play 🔥
I'm playing on ultra RT at 4k30 on a 3080 (quality dlss), this game is going to take me along time to get through, I'm spending most of my time just slowly taking in the visuals. Yes performance could definitely be better but it's visually jaw dropping.
The audio is excellent on a pair of headphones also.
Nice! I can’t afford cyberpunk because covid has been really hard on my family but it will be fun watching you guys play!
If u have a decent connection, just play it on GeForce Now or stadia
I'll be sure to play it on my Series X for you
-1nterruption - thanks
@@SkemeKOS not fake you’re just ignorant
Stay strong, I hope you get to play it soon, cheers
Only played for 1,5 hour tonight. Already so impressed by the graphics and it runs very well on my Ryzen 5, RTX3070 PC.. can't wait to play more tomorrow.
yeah, im constantly dropping my jaw at these graphics and atmosphere. The PC version of Cyberpunk and MS Flightsimulator are the real next gen titles.
Have a similar setup (3060 Ti though), and while it mostly runs fine, around 40-60 fps at 1440p with DLSS on Performance, and with RTX on Ultra, it is also very inconsistent. I may get 50 fps in one specific area, then drive around the block, and when I get back (same time of day, etc.) it's 25 FPS. Same for some interiors, like the nightclubs and so on. Sometimes the same area runs fine, 50 fps, sometimes it tanks to 20 fps.
@@originalulix Might be a HDD (if it's running from one) or a RAM issue.
Unpopular opinion: but I'm glad they didn't downgrade the game for archaic hardware - also on RTX 370
@@originalulix
That doesn't sound normal. Latest drivers? Game installed on an ssd? Enough ram and with xmp profile active?
Coming from your comparisons on the PS4/Pro to this video, huge difference. Real curious to see how the upcoming 2021 PS5 and SX updates will look. I'll be waiting for those updates myself. My PC is getting pretty old, so my new SX is more powerful now. I can at least watch this video in 4K though.
14:56 I remember this in Unreal Tournament looking down from those 3 skyscrapers
Can't wait to play this in six months when it's actually finished.
Played for 8 hours on PC. Good experience so far with minor glitches. DLSS does wonders for the performance.
exactly, right now is crap, and the optimization will be not much better i think, barely
Ya performance is certainly lackluster right now, but damn if I'm going to let myself all my buddies play it and I won't.
Im playing on PC right now, it looks glorious even on my 1660ti. Only seen two glitches in my six hours playing
Edit: I am playing on medium settings at 1080p, with a few high settings like number of decals (neon lights and such) and it hovers around 60fps. sometimes dips to low 50s and high 40s but it's not that harsh imo. No crashes, just a few visual glitches here and there.
Lol I’m running on a 3090 and it crashed 6 times in under 3 hours
What settings are you playing on? I have a 1660ti too
I have the same card and bought it to series x 🤦🏻♂️ yes im an idiot
@@LilioCamere It’s so terribly optimized. The fact that a 3090, the best GPU money can buy, can’t fully max it out is embarrassing.
@@LilioCamere lol
Not sure if many people realize how far graphics have come. I've haven't been following the industry much for a longer period of time, and its awesome to see the progress. The depth of detail in this title is crazy. Although at first didn't liked the setting, i changed my mind after seeing how immersive everything is and how well designed it is.
Absolutely incredible, I've been wandering the streets on foot myself
Man this game is just gorgeous with ultra ray tracing at night when it’s pouring rain, and the neon city lights are reflecting off the ground.
Yeah any game looks gorgeous on 3k + hardware
@@spenny2cents It looks gorgeous even on my 1k hardware.
One thing that's driving me nuts about the graphics is in the darker scenes. Look at the ground around the NPCs. They don't cast any shadows of any kind. They have reflections but there are no shadows.
I think it will be fixed in a later patch
Are you playing with rt ultra?
Ps5
7:26 is a glaring example of this. Hope they fix it.
I think that's because the weather was overcasted, although I did notice the same at times when shadows were totally absent (like at 7:26), but in clear environments and daytime the npcs casted hard and clear shadows (13:16)
lmfao, the floating boxes 22:38 Like holy shit, that looked surreal as fuck. If I saw that I'd think it was just part of the world or something.
I'm glad to see that DF took a professional approach and concentrated on the aspects that make this game great. I am enjoying it very much on my RTX2070 super. Although not really enjoying as I am more blown away by what is shown. This game is a true technological marvel with an engaging story, charismatic and memorable characters, amazing shooting mechanics and many other things that make this game stand out.
Maxed Out Next-Gen PC Experience!
Me staring at my PC: "Bro..."
Looks ar my 1050ti laptop: "Shame!!!"
I'll have do deal with my 1060 6G performance, until I can afford the 3070.
Get Nvidia Geforce Now. It's cheap and, while not perfect, it's still great
@@lasarousi it runs like shit on my 1060.
@@Chopper153 is it the 6gigs version or the 3? And what's the cpu? The card bottlenecks easily with an older processor.
I'll accept 30 to 60 fps with dynamic resolution to 75% and everything non rtx on high ultra. Maybe cascading shadows are too expensive right now.
a single tear appears on my face playing on PS4 pro......
My god that's a beautifull engine, Cant wait to play around with it! Hope my old 3930k (oc'd to 5 GHz) can pull it off when my 3080 arrives. Thats probably months away tho so let's pray for some performance patches by then.
