Crazy thing is, I actually didn't watch these videos prior to release and now, upon finally giving them a go, I somehow get hyped up for a game that I have already beaten and know doesn't look even 5% as impressive as they were making it out to be. The "every decision will have consequences" bit is in hindsight so much BS it's not even funny. The marketing team did their homework. Nobody else did though.
Did Thanos come through and snapped half of the features away? Monowire is now just a whip, third-person driving doesn't have a HUD for speed nor turn by turn directions, you can't see the level of enemy npcs, hell half of the crowds themselves are missing outright, and you don't even buy the language packs anymore.

But in my humble opinion, a lot of the decisions n stuff they showed here and other videos did end up in the vanilla we got, and btw there is a speed hud it’s just not as nicely dressed up. 2:06 - Signs and adverts aren't nearly as dynamically destructible. 4:16 - HUD shows the ability for vehicle combat. 4:31 - Store's don't have "special offers" or even any kind of interesting UI. It's just one big list of shit to buy in the final game. 4:31 - There's also no cart, or "finalize purchase" option. You just click the item in the final game, and if you misclicked? Tough shit, load a savegame... 8:16 - Almost none of whats displayed during the solo-montage is actually representative of enemy interactions. 8:25 + 9:03 - Enemies don't react almost at all from melee attacks, let alone as much as they do here. 8:27 + 8:40 - Afaik enemies don't stagger from aimed gunfire ANYTHING like this in the final game. They either ragdoll at random from shotgun blasts, or sponge it up like a tank. -8:48-- - Afaik you never get augs that aesthetically change your characters body anywhere near as much as in this scene.- 10:06 - This option is completely broken in the final game, among multiple other traps in this section.

So technically, gorilla arms only increase first damage and and have a cool animation when you force doors open, nothing more...

Many sections of the game are good, especially the writing and the side characters' quests. But as a package? Nope... Rip. In fact this whole Voodoo Boys segment they're showing off in the trailer is easily one of the worst missions in the game, it's just a giant area with 30-40 mobs that you have to kill. I'm surprised it was that bad considering this is one of the earliest gameplay reveals, goes to show something went really off the rails at one point or another. It's even more stripped down than what is revealed here, which is crazy to me.
Literally everything was a f*cking lie, no risk when hacking no branching story paths, no decision making, none of these hacks are in the game, can’t use the monowire to hack enemies. It’s so sad what happened to this game.
There's no need to use monowire to hack if you can hack it regardless and there is decision to make in this quest. You can be with voodoo boys or netwatch agent.

I've played through this entire section of the game and I can say for certain that nothing has been improved upon or added to the game, but they have cut alot out especially the choices and gameplay mechanics (characters and location is the same).

First let's make clear that this video implies we will learn alot more about Voodo Boys and Animals and Pacifica. And in the final Game, this is one Mission and afterwards these factions have no additional side quests on influence on your playthrough. 3:35 The helicopter shooting at the building implies that this world has busy dynamic events like these all the time but they only happen in Story Missions to be more cinematic. 3:48 just has to be noted cause what the narrator is just funny looking at the game now 4:11 a) implying Pacifica is more dangerous to traverse than other district. This is false, you dont get mugged, nobody attacks you, it seems like events where NPCs have a shootout against each other is more frequent tho. b) The armored car. Implying that you can upgrade the armor of the car and that this would have affect on the gameplay. I never expierenced that. 4:22 Pacifica has one market with 1 or 2 vendors which sell the same mediocre stuff you can buy everywhere. No dense diverse markets with hidden shops who sell militech grade cyberware. (Also implies you need streetcred for accessing those shops) 5:47 to me this little event also sells a much more dynamic world. As with the helicopter this is scripted for the main mission to be more cinematic. This stuff does not happen in the open world. 6:06 "one of the voodo boys higher ups offered us a mission" its not an offer if the game wont let me refuse it. You are forced to do this mission. 7:30 Saying our life paths unlocks special options at imprtant story junctures. Most of the time these are blue options, when they are yellow they dont seem to affect anything and the only juncture at in the game that has an inflience on future missions and progress through the story is near the end. 7:55 Late 2019 they had a totally different skill system when the game was said to be half a year away. This system was scratched. 10:07 not possible anymore, I tried that in my playthrough 11:02 Not possible anymore 13:14 branching storyline had to be mentioned again. Just to make it clear, you can differently play through the story they took as an example here but it does not change the outcome. You always get the info you wanted. Whatever you chose within this mission doesnt influence how any faction reacts to you or unlocks special sidemissions for gaining anyones trust or locks sidemissions because you killed a character who would have handed you a questchain.
You're using "implying" a lot as if you've never seen a game trailer before. Those look like regular events you'd see when entering a new area, nothing new in video games. You're also reaching a lot with stuff like "offered" (you expect them to say "here's main story mission guys!"?). The only thing that's not in the game is nanowire hacking and it was replaced by using your scanner. Oh and the skill system only has a different UI and got a bit more robust, that's that. I get it that you wanted to write a witty takedown but literally picked a bad video for that, because this one is accurate, other than changes to UI, etc. that are normal between such old vids and released game, If you want some good material to laugh at you should look at PR stuff in interviews and gameplay reveal.
Life paths do offer different options. I did a story mission that basically was cake because my corpo life path allowed me to walk through front door as an invited inspector. This mission in any other life path would have been completely different.
Corpos would probably disagree... but again, they are stuck in their bosses' arses so deep that they can taste their lunch... ...so I guess, to each their own :D

Ok, let’s go: 3:36 Helicopters/vehicles never interact with the environment that way. 3:51 Yeouch. 4:00 No they don’t, and you can’t alter your relationship with any gang in any way. 4:13 Taking a stroll here would be just as dangerous as any other district: there’s no heightened risk of crime/danger to the player at all. 4:17 You can’t get armour plated cars, or customise vehicles at all. 4:19 That 3rd Person speedometer HUD isn’t there. 4:20 Also, in the bottom left, there’s a prompt that says ‘press Y to enter combat’, but Car chases don’t exist outside of scripted sections. 4:25 I haven’t found any illegal cyberware in the game, and most rippers stock the same stuff. 4:31 We can see that clothes used to have different resistance stats instead of just ‘armour’. 5:49 NPCs never interact with the environment like the guy shooting the av does. 7:35 ‘A full fledged RPG’, later changed to ‘action-adventure game’ 7:39 And that’s the only thing your backstory gives you apart from the 30 minute intro sequence. 8:34 Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think you can rip turrets out of their frames. 8:48 this is still in the game, but I’ve personally found that you can rip open doors with that exact animation without gorilla arms as long as your strength is high enough. 9:47 It is, but it won’t have any substantial effect on anything. 10:06 I’m pretty sure that context-based hacks like this aren’t there anymore. 10:55 nope, same thing with context based hacks. 11:04 The nanowire is in the game, but it’s a glorified whip and can’t be used for hacking at all. 11:28 Beyond the blackwall, the place which you will venture literally once in this once in this mission and then never again. 12:21 see point that I made at 9:47. I do actually enjoy the game, but it isn’t the one teased here or in 2018
I came back to this trailer after the new update and there's still not many of these claims in the game. So much missed potential I wish the Cyberware did what was promised like needing gorilla arms to open doors and rip out turrets and the nano wire could actually hack directly. I wish the hacking system was closer to how its presented here where you need to hack access points to gain access to devices connected to the network, instead of being able to hack EVERYTHING front the jump. The only thing I can say that is actually in the game from the list is the ability to hack the electronic bench presses but idk about the workout dummies.

Can you imagine having to select hex (these aren't nearly enough, by the way; it's hyper "simplified" as a concept) whenever running a script in PowerShell? Monowire is now just a whip, third-person driving doesn't have a HUD for speed nor turn by turn directions, you can't see the level of enemy npcs, hell half of the crowds themselves are missing outright, and you don't even buy the language packs anymore.

8:16 - Almost none of whats displayed during the solo-montage is actually representative of enemy interactions.
8:25 + 9:03 - Enemies don't react almost at all from melee attacks, let alone as much as they do here.
8:27 + 8:40 - Afaik enemies don't stagger from aimed gunfire ANYTHING like this in the final game. They either ragdoll at random from shotgun blasts, or sponge it up like a tank.

So technically, gorilla arms only increase first damage and and have a cool animation when you force doors open, nothing more...

Many sections of the game are good, especially the writing and the side characters' quests. But as a package? Nope... Rip. In fact this whole Voodoo Boys segment they're showing off in the trailer is easily one of the worst missions in the game, it's just a giant area with 30-40 mobs that you have to kill. I'm surprised it was that bad considering this is one of the earliest gameplay reveals, goes to show something went really off the rails at one point or another. It's even more stripped down than what is revealed here, which is crazy to me.

I've played through this entire section of the game and I can say for certain that nothing has been improved upon or added to the game, but they have cut alot out especially the choices and gameplay mechanics (characters and location is the same).

This is false, you dont get mugged, nobody attacks you, it seems like events where NPCs have a shootout against each other is more frequent tho. b) The armored car. Implying that you can upgrade the armor of the car and that this would have affect on the gameplay. I never expierenced that.
4:22 Pacifica has one market with 1 or 2 vendors which sell the same mediocre stuff you can buy everywhere. No dense diverse markets with hidden shops who sell militech grade cyberware. (Also implies you need streetcred for accessing those shops)

The only thing that's not in the game is nanowire hacking and it was replaced by using your scanner. Oh and the skill system only has a different UI and got a bit more robust, that's that.
I get it that you wanted to write a witty takedown but literally picked a bad video for that, because this one is accurate, other than changes to UI, etc. that are normal between such old vids and released game, If you want some good material to laugh at you should look at PR stuff in interviews and gameplay reveal.
Life paths do offer different options. I did a story mission that basically was cake because my corpo life path allowed me to walk through front door as an invited inspector. This mission in any other life path would have been completely different.

I came back to this trailer after the new update and there's still not many of these claims in the game. So much missed potential I wish the Cyberware did what was promised like needing gorilla arms to open doors and rip out turrets and the nano wire could actually hack directly. I wish the hacking system was closer to how its presented here where you need to hack access points to gain access to devices connected to the network, instead of being able to hack EVERYTHING front the jump. The only thing I can say that is actually in the game from the list is the ability to hack the electronic bench presses but idk about the workout dummies.

If you want to play the same character but make different choices, just do a separate save Right after you create the character. Then use that as your starting point for your new play throughs.

It would be more weird if one kind of mediocre kind of hack had some sort of complicated interpretation compared to literally all other forms of quick hacks. If you show up to a network and want to run a command, and have equal access via wireless and physical networks, which you going to opt for in a pinch?
