- A run down Idiot's Delight at Alpine Meadows, a truly extreme run with a mandatory drop-in off a cornice and filtering into a perilously tight couloir with no room for error. This line takes a 2-5 minute hike to reach from the Summit chair.
Idiot's Delight filters into the Wolverine Bowl, which comprises solid high-alpine terrain. This area then leads to the Face, a short but steep mogul run.
Alpine Meadows is a ski area located near the north shore of Lake Tahoe, California. While technically part of the same resort as Squaw Valley, the two are separate mountains and are connected by a shuttle service. See our full mountain review here: www.peakrankings.com/content/...

The best part is that this run is still rated as a single black!
Edit: Not anymore!
squaw and alpine have no double blacks anywhere
@@leonmozambique533 cap a least on the main trail maps they dont but on the official ski patrol maps they do
it was rated as a double black in like 2012 and earlier maps haha, they changed everything to single black but it pays to remember which were rated as double black before!
@@tylooz742 yeah I know. They rate double blacks and blacks as a single black but I'm sure ski patrol maps know their actual difficulty! This used to be a double black before Palisades owned Alpine!
Little kids ski it.
True no fall. I was up there in 2010 after a series of big early season dumps and it was just huge at the top of the ridge. On a snowboard all you could do was drop and straight line the first 100 feet.
Wow! That was a scary drop-in.
Nice!
Corbets couloir in Jackson hole has a little more pucker factor. Chose your time wisely because the line tends to get long and the newbs biting it in the chute blocks it.
So firm! It’s a lot more fun with pow 😜
