I love my 22 black edition hpd sonic gray
I really wish they had the Black Edition in white in 2020. I got the black one and it is impossible to keep clean, yes. I also think the white looks great!
This sold me with a truck! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Damn I love this truck so much but they need to step up the tech and I need bigger tires lol been holding off the last two years maybe I just change out the tires and touch screen myself.
Good review. I am hoping for a Hybrid this year. Was going to get the Maverick but no AWD in the Hybrid.
Cheers
I was expecting another boring Ridgeline review but you Sir are an excellent speaker
it really annoys me when I'm looking at a brand new Honda Ridgeline review and the car is all water spotted any dirty and the touch screen is dusty and covered with greasy fingerprints everywhere
that was hands down the cleanest Honda Ridgeline review I ever saw
kudos to the person who prepped that truck
if you're looking for a dirty truck all covered in mud get yourself a Tacoma
but if you wanna tailgate at the game with your buddies you can't beat a Ridgeline
Thank you for saying that. I greatly appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to watch!

2022 Honda Pilot Special Edition - Is It The BEST Three-Row Crossover? Find Out 👉 czcams.com/video/BDUjr2Pe8hQ/video.html
I have a 2021 RTLE. Wireless charger only works part time. Doesn’t matter the phone position or if the case is on or off. Other than that and the not so great mpgs I love the truck.
What about safety? Handsfree cruise control? Lane assist?
Is apple car play and Android audio wireless this year??
nice video you are the first one to mention Black edition coming in Sonic Gray for 22 are the side view mirrors heated and do they Auto dim? thank you
No, the rear view mirror is the only mirror to auto dim. Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment, Tony!
Outside mirrors on my 2021 RTL-E dim down. Black edition is a higher trim level then the RTL-E .
Maybe they removed that option?
My defrost works on side mirrors and rear windshield in my 2021 RTL-E. The steering wheel is also heated. The remote start also activates the heated steering wheel and defrost once the temp drops low enough.
Is the Apple car play wireless, or do you have to use USB? TIA
It’s worth mentioning, only the Ridgeline comes standard with a native class III towing kit with 7-pin connector on all trim levels, capable of 5k lbs towing at time of purchase.
Most midsized-pickups are max 2k lbs tow from bumper; without a trim upgrade that includes a towing kit and or an accessories upgrade from the dealership.
It's overall lacking in towing. Although you might pay for a row kit on other vehicles like Tacoma frontier or ranger. Thet
@@gamatoutsikos yes, even when comparing off-road towing.
- Ford Ranger Tremor = 7.5k max tow.
- Ford Ranger FX4 = 7k max tow.
- Chevy Colorado Z71 or ZR2 Bison = 7k max tow.
- Nissan Frontier PRO-4X = 6.72k max tow.
- Jeep Gladiator Overland = 6k max tow.
- Chevy Colorado ZR2 = 5k max tow.
- Honda Ridgeline = 5k max tow.
- Jeep Gladiator Mojave/Rubicon = 4.5k max tow.
@@pm270x I think if you are looking to tow on a regular basis you don't buy a Ridgeline. I only tow a utility trailer 2k lbs max so there is no problem for me re: Ridgeline. I think as a principal the towing will do better on a body on frame vehicle
@@gamatoutsikos I own the 2020 Ridgeline RTL-E and rarely need to tow. We had a death in the family last year and I had to move out a woodworking shop.
I used an U-Hall 6x12 Utility Trailer Rental
with Ramp (2,290 lbs empty). I loaded it down with two ShopSmith lathes, an Atlas metal lathe, Delta bandsaw, scroll saw, too many metal accessories, and etc… I’m assuming the trailer probably got very close to 6k lbs. I delivered these items nearby (30 minutes away), here in the southern Appalachians, so not without reasonable hills. I used Sport Shift Mode to use the paddle-shifters as a manual transaxle.
The move was miserable as the outer bans of Hurricane Ida passed through.
Weight distribution wasn’t used. The Ridgeline wasn’t light at the front and braked well. The acceleration from stops signs and traffic signals was good enough to merge into traffic. So far, I can’t complain about my 1st towing experience with the Ridgeline RTL-E with the 9-speed.
Radiant Red in Black Edition Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could not agree more, Mark!
white black edition what the hell
Just like my wife 😜
The Ridgeline has always impressed me but it would be great for Honda to make a version you can modify with a suspension lift and things like that.
Traxda makes a 3.5" lift
Why? The Ridgeline is a fantastic truck, but not really intended for off road.
@@fpvflyer4758 For snow.
There are leveling and lift kits readily available.
@@MarkBrown-uf8ct rubber block lifts are crap.
All these ppl bitching about the RL tech. Apparently none of you have ever owned a taco or tundra. The RL is light years ahead of Toyota trucks in the tech department. I’m completely satisfied and happy with my 2022 Ridgeline black edition. Came from a trd tundra pro.
Thank you for sharing, Eric!
LOVE MY 22 RL BLACK EDITION! I call it my Town Truck cause thats where I mostly use it bu sometimes go off road and its works just fine there too!
The touchscreen needs help! Looks Very outdated. Not impressed with the cluster either.
Lower the price and increase gas mileage. Full size F-150 gets better mileage.
I get 20 city and 31 highway with the AWD.
I'd still rather have a Honda than a Ford
Yeah the epa is way off. I've owned a 17 and now a 21, 25mpg is my combined, 28 is highway. Heck I got 17mpg with a 3800lb brick of a bunkhouse camper behind it.
Why is the top trunk in the mid-size market so unpopular? Very rarely do I see a Ridgeline on the highway
Thats why I like it... You see tacos at every corner 😉
Ridgeline is easy to find in the Atlanta market.
Buyer Beware with Holmes Honda!!! Enquired about this exact truck one day before this video was posted, website lists price as MSRP $45,940… took asking the online agent multiple times before disclosing the actual sales price is $55,900!!! Yes, they are adding a $10,000 markup!!! Plus, an additional $2,500 out of market adjustment if the buyer is more than 2 hours of the dealership!🤣🤣🤣 Makes my local dealer’s added $2,000 in installed options look like a bargain!!!
Has Honda update the infotainment. The 2021 had old technology
Nope. That's why I don't get why owners with the older 2nd gen trade theirs in for the newer look.
Yes, yes it is
I own a 2014 Ridgeline Special Edition with a full size spare tire. This new model can not fit a full size tire in the trunk. So this new Ridgeline is a local commuter, and not designed for long trips. So I still have my 2014 with 45,000 miles on it. No reason to trade it in when they downgraded the vehicle. Every model of the first gen has AWD. They downgraded it. A ECU flash will give the first gen 20hp more like the new models since its the same engine. I also hate the center console shifter in the new model. I like my column shifter in the first gen, it takes up less room. I have more space.
Sounds like you better stick with your 2014 .
Joe Smartballs, Yep’ no trips outside of the city limits. I just put on 1,500 miles round trip, smooth as silk, pulled two mountain passes effortlessly, Luv the shift paddles, like Formula 1.
AWD is standard on all trim levels for 2022.
I agree that a full-sized spare-tire is needed, and required by state and federal law when towing. I wish a Honda Element spare-tire mount was used at the swing-gate, so that in-bed payload didn’t block access to the spare-tire.
A trailer brake gain controller is also required by state law in many states when towing over 3,500 lbs in snowy or mountainous areas. Ridgeline requires an aftermarket trailer gain controller.
The 9-speed transaxle vastly outperforms the older 5-speed and 6-speed. The iVTM4-AWD also outperforms the older full-time 4WD. The 9-speed is better for handling heavier payload, manages towing better, and grade shifting. Paddle-shifting is much better than the old Overdrive Button; in either shift-on-the-fly and or Sport-Shift mode.
The dated SOHC 3.5L engine needs a DOHC upgrade to broaden the power-band and be more competitive against the (3.6L DOHC Pentastar 305 HP and 270 lb.-ft. of torque), (Nissan DOHC 3.8-L V-6 engine with 310 HP and 281 lb-ft of torque), and (EcoBoost 2.3-L DOHC I4 270 HP and 310 lb.-ft torque).
I agree the electronic transaxle buttons are poorly positioned, where it’s easy to spill into when next to cup holders. I also don’t like the forward/back cup holders and prefer the left/right cup holders. The forward/back cup holders also block access to the cellphone charging pad and USB ports.
The rear doors need dual cup holders to match the Passport and Pilot. My three kids are one cup holder short in the back seat.
I'll take the 2nd gen upgrades anyday.
You talk like a news caster.
The Ridgeline is nothing more than a Pilot with a truck bed.
Well, this Pilot with a truck bed has higher payload than any other in its segment.
@@juanfernandez9492 I do like it for its utility and unique trunk within the bed.
Vernon Engbino...So you took time out of your "busy schedule" to comment on the truck that you don't even own? You are nothing more then...(everyone please feel free to fill in this section). Vernon please do us all favor and stay under the rock you crawled under.
So is a Silverado just a Tahoe with a bed? Considering the Tahoe rides like a truck, I'd say yes. If the Ridgeline does everything that you need a truck to do, the fact that it drives and rides like a Pilot is not a bad thing.
Vernon Engbino, Nope 👎
